SA30 Plot Information by DH Skies
Patient Zero has entered the school and is highly infectious!Greetings Sonorans. This term, we will be running a site-wide plot involving a magical illness spreading throughout the school.
The effects of the illness are (up to) 3 bursts of accidental magic, followed by developing a high fever. Once the fever is cured, your character’s illness is finished, and they cannot catch it again.
This is a new illness, not seen before in the USA, so even if your character has grown up with magic, they won’t recognise the first symptoms (accidental magic) as indicating that they are ill. The fact that it is an illness will be worked out and solved via the staff and/or external agencies throughout the term - you just need to focus on your own character(s) and how they are affected.
In order to catch the disease, you need to have direct contact with a carrier. This means being in a thread with someone who has the disease. Being in the same class/house etc is not enough - you must post with them OR have a very close connection that means contact would be inevitable (e.g. roommates, your characters are dating etc).
After the opening feast, patient zero will identify themselves (they have been nominated and know who they are). If those who spoke to them choose, they can they can then catch the illness. If your character becomes infected, please post under here with their name AND the OOC week number they became infected. You can only catch the illness from someone after they’re infectious. If your character gets through all their symptoms and is no longer infectious, please also post this below.

It is (of course) our very accident prone Mr. Sparks who has brought this infection into our school.Joe Umland (for posting with him at the feast) and Finn Scott (due to being roommates) are now at risk, along with anyone who posts with Jozua until he declares himself no longer infectious. If they choose to have caught the infection, they will post under here following the title format above.
From this point on, it will be up to each character to add themselves to this list, and to take themselves off it again if they finish their episode of illness.

Hi Lily,Your character is infectious from the point at which they are exposed. For Lily, this was a class posted in week 2. It just keeps things simpler to go from the point of contact in case people take different amounts of time to develop their symptoms etc. Also, orientation week was week 0, which is admittedly confusing but is a hangover from when it didn't exist and then had to be fitted in with other existing stuff.

I am definitely showing symtoms from week 8. I have had interactions with multiple infected people, so who knows which one is to blame. I don't really interact with anyone anyway, so it's probably of limited concern.
