[A girl in CH] You! Talk to me! by Alexander Pierce-Beales

Valentine was dating Bonabelle. Mab was his sister. Sadie was maybe making eyes at Dathan Fischer? Girls were impossible and Alexander was going to die alone.

Well, maybe not.

Determined to at least pretend not to be a miserable dope for ten whole seconds, he sat down with a girl around his age who was sitting alone for lunch. He didn't even care what House this girl was in.

"Hi," he said a bit abruptly, albeit not unkindly. "How are you today?"

Yes! I can talk! Thank you! by Anya Delachene

Anya sat in the Cascade Hall, poking disinterestedly at a Charms book while eating a sandwich. CATS were coming up fast and she was making at least a token effort to review some old material but it was dull and tedious reading and she was hugely relieved when someone dropped into the chair next to hers and asked how she was doing.

"You've rescued me from CATS revision," she told him gratefully, putting the charms book away, and giving Alexander a grin. "I was about to die of boredom, but things are looking better now. How are you?"

Great! Now what? by Alexander Pierce-Beales

Alexander didn't know Anya well but that was probably for the best considering his luck with girls he did know. She was older than him too but that might be good. He was sick of being a loser wallflower.

"Well, then I'm glad I sat down," he said, even managing a proper smile. Tests were not why he'd say down though. He'd sat down because Anya was a girl. "Anya... Would you go on a date with me?"

Wait what? by Anya Delachene

The interaction had been going pretty normally. A pair of inquiries into the quality of each other’s days. A mildly humorous exchange. Smiles.

And then abruptly it wasn’t normal anymore. She could count on one hand the number of times she had spoken with Alexander Mason turned Alexander Pierce-Beales, and none of those had given her any advanced warning that he might potentially want to ask her out.

And yet, that’s what he just did with no build-up at all.

For a moment she just gaped at him, having been taken entirely by surprise. Could she have heard that wrong?

But no, she’d always had pretty good hearing and her reality filter wasn’t broken the way Jasmine’s was. That wasn’t the problem.

“Um,” she said intelligently. “What would we do?” she heard her mouth ask when her brain gave it no helpful instructions.

That's not a no. by Alexander Pierce-Beales

Alexander wasn't sure if it was his foot in his mouth or the bile in his throat but something was making it very hard to swallow. Still, he forced a lump back into his stomach as Anya stared at him and eventually responded. He blinked, surprised; he hadn't actually expected to get to the point of making plans and didn't have any in mind.

"What do you like to do?" he returned, realizing he basically knew nothing about this girl he was maybe going to go on a date with. "Like a picnic or something maybe? Or a walk?" Walking sounded good. There would be less eye contact than there would be if there was a picnic. "I've never been on a date before. Do you have any ideas?"

You're right, I didn't say no. Haven't said yes yet either, but haven't said no. by Anya Delachene

Philippe did not tell her a great many details about his dates with Freddie. Neither did Freddie. She was pretty sure there were both walks and picnics, as Alexander suggested, but if there were any other activities they got up to, she couldn't say with any definitive certainty.

"Hmm," she said thoughtfully. His ideas weren't bad but they'd hardly be Anya's first choice for hanging out - which is what she was going to assume 'dating' was when they hardly knew each other at all. Picnics and walks were both fine, and there were far worse things she could think of doing, but they both seemed rather tame and lacking in excitement. Alexander was not on the Quidditch team, so she had to assume he was probably not an adrenaline junkie like she was, so she tried to come up with some ideas that might be fun but not too high risk.

"I like gymnastics and flying and climbing," she said, because he'd asked what she liked to do, and that was what she spent most of her time doing. "But I don't know if those work. Climbing wall adventure in the sports room, maybe?" she suggested, not sure if he'd go for that. "Or just board game night in the lobby there. Games are fun, too." The selection was big enough they could probably find something more interesting than Scrabble that they both wanted to try. "Or get on a roof and look at stars?" That was purportedly romantic according to Popular Television TM, and she could get into it if there were roof top altitudes involved.

Touche by Alexander Pierce-Beales

"Yes, sure, those sound great," he agreed. His luck was really holding up so far. If he'd known that all it took to get a girl to go out with you was to ask, he'd have tried it already. "I roller skate too if you want to do something active. I'm not a great flyer but we could climb." He smiled a little then. "And looking at the stars sounds nice." He'd always liked the stars. He couldn't see them much from Seattle so whenever he was anywhere where he could see them, he drank them in.

And the ambiguity dissipates! by Anya Delachene

"Cool," Anya grinned approvingly when she learned he could rollerskate. "I'm down with a skate date." Starting off with something they were already both comfortable doing sounded like a good idea, and it was promising that he liked her other ideas, too. But for the first one, they could just hang out, get to know each other better, without worrying about learning a new skill. "Tomorrow evening, MARS sports room?"

Thank you for your time! by Alexander Pierce-Beales

Alexander smiled at Anya and nodded. "See you then," he agreed. Figuring he should do something properly romantic, he reached quickly into his book bag, retrieved some paper, and drew a detailed if quick rose. He handed it to her as he stood up. "See ya," he said.

It would've been weird to plan a date and then just stay there so he wasn't gonna do that. Besides, he needed to find Mab. She wasn't the most girly of girls (but neither was Anya) but she was still a girl and Alexander needed advice on the 'now what' part of going on a date with someone.

OOC: Happy to have him approach Mab if you wanna continue that bit, or leave it off screen. :)

It was a nice study break by Anya Delachene

She was surprised when he stood up and then started drawing. When he handed her the sketch of a flower, she took it, feeling flattered and a little bit dumbfounded. Nobody had ever drawn her a flower before. "Thanks," she managed, before he was completely out of earshot. "See ya."

She looked at her flower in something like shock. She had a date.

She carefully pressed the drawing between the pages of a textbook so it wouldn't get damaged, and then pulled out her Charms book again. She looked at the words written there, but didn't really accomplish any useful studying.

She had a date.

Hello brother by Mab

Mab looked up as her brother approached. His emotional state seemed a bit off of his norm, so she asked, "Is something wrong?"

"No, nothing's wrong!" Alexander said as he took a seat with his sister. Who was a girl. This was fine. "I have a date. I asked Anya Delachene on a date. We're going skating. On a date. How do I do a date?"

You're the only one I talk to. by Mab

Mab raised a silent eyebrow at him. A date? And he wanted her advice? "You know that the last time I went on a date, I made him my brother, right?" Not that they'd gone to the ball together as an actual couple but more as friends, but the point still stood. It had been a ball and therefore the closest Mab had ever come to having a date. "I doubt that is the outcome you are hoping for here."
