Giselle Duell

The Divinations classroom was set up much as it always was. The lighting was low and round, two person tables were scattered about the room. Those tables, as usual, each had two chairs and were covered in a myriad of different cloth coverings. The unusual thing today was the somewhat large, wooden chest that sat upon each table. They were each a bit different from each other, but they all had one thing in common; they were quite sturdily locked and charmed against a simple 'Alohomora'.

Professor Duell sat behind her desk as her students arrived, seemingly oblivious to them, running her wand tip along the lines of text in a book as a spell then whispered those words in her ear. She was hardly ignorant of her students' presence, but wanted to give them an excuse to wonder a little bit among themselves first. Once she judged the time was right, she stood to begin class.

"Hello everyone, as I am sure you have noticed, we have something a little different to focus on today." She began to casually stroll around the room, weaving between the tables. "You will be working with a partner, so make sure you are next to someone you can work with. One of you will be working on divining what is in each of the chests, while the other divines how to confirm their partner's findings."

Giselle's wanderings had brought her to one side of the classroom. A wave of her wand assembled her standard tea service on a table there. "There are a few stations about the room so you may use whatever methods you believe will be most helpful. Here is tea," she gestured about the room with her wand and the other areas revealed themselves, "there is the brazier for fire omens, the runestones, chicken bones, wax dripping, you should have your tarot cards with you, and the crystal balls." The last item did not have the same tone as the rest.

"Think of this as something of a test of your skills so far. I don't have much to add for the person working on the contents, however there is a warning for the key seeker. The keys are hidden about the room, and look identical to one another. While the right one will open your chest, the wrong one will destroy its contents. I don't think you will want that." She smiled as she said this for each of the chests held the student's favorite snack. There were advantages to knowing where your pupils were going to sit ahead of time. "You may begin."
