Rosalynn had put up two different fliers advertising two different clubs, and made reservations in two different MARS rooms for two different times. Today was the one for the Visual Arts Club, and it was taking place in, appropriately, the Visual Arts Room. This was the club that had existed before her arrival, and she had inherited from Katerina Vorontsov upon her graduation. This was now Rosalynn's second year running it, and she felt much less nervous about it than she had the prior year. She was now in her fourth year, so she'd at least reached the point where approximately half the school was younger or the same age as her, so she felt a bit more like she had the authority to run a club, and also she'd had practice and the returning members were used to her now.
"Hello, everyone," she greeted pleasantly as they began to arrive. She didn't usually provide snacks, as there was almost always paint or clay or something out that wouldn't be good to mix with food, but there was always a table set up with a water dispenser and a pile of cups for anyone who got thirsty, or needed water to clean their paintbrushes, or dilute a paint for a cool effect, or whatever other use anybody might have with a cup of water. (This club was full of creative people and Ros wasn't going to limit their use of water to a strict list.)
Katerina had always started each meeting with a show and tell, and Rosalynn had continued that tradition. "Do anyone have any projects you finished this week that you want to show everyone?" she asked encouragingly.
Once everyone who did had gotten a turn to show off their talents, Ros concluded. "Great work everyone. Those were all awesome pieces of art! Let's give our artists a round of applause!" she started it off, and when it died down, she introduced the day's activity, "So today, we've got a lot of different colors of modeling clay, so I thought we could make some pretty cool things out of that, but as always, you can always choose to work with whatever medium you choose, or continue working on your own ongoing personal projects. Or you could combine things, and do a painting or drawing of the rest of us working with modelling clay. So let's get creative and start making art, folks! Have fun!"
Ros herself went to get some of the green and purple modeling clay. She thought she might try to make a dragon, though sculpting wasn't really her forte, so she'd see what it looked like first before claiming something that looked more like moray eel was a dragon. She started by rolling out the green clay in a long serpentine body and looked around the rest of the group, smiling as they settled in to do art, and checking to see if there was anybody who looked like they weren't sure what to do or who seemed like they might have a question or concern.
