Join author malfunction, apologies! by Olivier Westley
Hey! So I'm just going to be taking over fully for Olivier now as it was getting too hard to write him jointly which means (if it's still possible!!) I'd like to sign him up for the following classes: Adv. Transfig, Charms, Defense, Potions, and Herbology. Again, I'm really sorry for the uber delay, RL on both our ends just got so crazy and we both thought we'd have time to sit down and figure out his schedule and post some but we just haven't! I'm aiming to post him more in his last semester (eek!) now that things have calmed down a little and he doesn't have to wait for two people's schedules to line up but still, apologies all around!!!

Active List update (12/30) by Yearbook Staff
Hey Everyone,Here is the new updated list. Again I want to tell you all what a fabulous job everyone is doing and how wonderfully active the site really has been this term.

YEARBOOK SURVEY!!! by Yearbook Staff
Hey Everyone! It’s that time for the yearbook survey. For those of you who are new, the yearbook is something that I do as a side project for the site. It is not maintained by the staff, so questions should be directed to me or my email, sonorarpkids@gmail.com.
Every term when the Midsummer event takes place, a yearbook is provided to the students as a 'thanks for the year' treat. The students participate with the yearbook by providing surveys for the award section of the book. You, as the author, will complete the forms for each of your characters as best as you can. This will get easier each year as you begin to develop relationships with your character's peers.
PLEASE NOTE: I will notice when a large number of surveys are favoring his/her own characters in the ‘School Wide’ section. The point of this section is to be fair to ALL students at the school and to NOT try to win all of the votes for your own characters. I will not accept these votes when it is showing favoritism. I understand that sometimes your character does fit into a category for that section and that is fine, but when an author has multiple characters and they all vote the same in that section, it’s favoritism and takes away from the fun of the yearbook. (This is not saying that you cannot vote for your own character in the categories, this note is only in reference to the school wide votes)
I am asking for all surveys to be completed by January 27th as this will give me time to tally them and complete the yearbook. Please email them to me at the email address provided above.
Here is the most current active list to base your answers on (please choose any characters that are in italics, bold, or both). Anyone who reaches the rule of 4 threads (5 for first years) by February 3rd will be included in the awards, so make sure you continue to post!
Active List
Here is the link to the survey:

Any questions, please do not hesitate to email at sonorarpkids@gmail.com.
I appreciate everyone who helps me with this portion of the yearbook!

Bumping the yearbook archives since.. by Reinhardts & co.
...the Yearbook Staff sending out surveys means the links to last year's yearbook aren't accessible anymore. So, like I said back in September, because sometimes while I'm writing I like to reference last year's yearbook or want to check who won something, I sometimes save copies of bits I think I'll want to reference later as paint files to my computer since it's necessary for Farrah to change yearbook access permissions so she can work on it each year.
I realized that other people might also want access to these "archived" pages and rather than fill my computer up with a bunch of non-interactive paint documents, I decided to utilize the wayback machine.
To use this online archive, it's simple. Go to Specify the target in the https://archive.org/web/ and type in the address of the site you want to see. If someone "saved" it previously, the archive should have a copy. You then scroll to the day and year it was saved on the calendar and click on the date. This should bring you to the page. Links on each saved page work only if the linked page was also saved. For this reason, I have saved each yearbook page from SA 21 - SA 26 individually as I didn't know how far back nor which pages others might want to use.
You can copy and paste the following address into the wayback machine once the permissions have been changed:
https://sites.google.com/site/sonoraacademyyearbookrp/home
NOTE: Simply clicking on the link will take you to the live page, you have to actually type it or copy and paste it into the "browse history" search bar at https://archive.org/web/

Posting marathon by Jamie Park
Hey,As some of you may have seen in chatzy, I decided to set myself the task of posting all my characters in a single weekend. As I have eight, that's a reasonable amount of work!
This is a personal challenge, not a site event, but I thought it would be a good idea to get the idea out there and encourage anyone who wants to to join in. I think it could make a good site event in future, and this would be a way of collecting some preliminary data on how easy/hard the task is, so that adjustments could be made for it to be a site-wide thing in future.
I'm not setting official start and end times, because it's so complicated with timezones, and am just trusting people to be honest - set yourself 48 hours whenever suits you!
Let me know if you're in, and I hope everyone will cheering us marathon runners on in chatzy!

You don't have to declare your start time but this is mine by Jamie Park
I know some people are on the fence/shy about participating, and might decide to go for it once they've built up some momentum, so I'm not making it a rule to declare start times, but I'm doing this to keep track of my own.

Surveys and Active List 1/20/17 by Yearbook Staff
Hey Everyone!Just a reminder that surveys are due 1/27/17 and you can find a link to those in the first post.
Everyone has until February 3rd to reach the required 4 thread count (5 for first years). I will still be reviewing all threads and anyone who reaches this requirement by the 2/3/17 will be part of the awards section.
Please note that any first years that do not reach 5 thread posts will not have a claim on their faceclaim. If this count is not reached by 2/3/17, the face will be removed from the yearbook and a blank avatar will replace it until next term.
For authors who have been MIA for the majority of term and who would like to participate in the awards section of the yearbook but is not sure they can manage the 4 thread count for all their characters, please reach out to me at sonorarpkids@gmail.com so that we can find an alternative that would be fair to everyone.
Thank you!
Active List:
Italics mean at least 2 threads completed.
Bold mean that the character has successfully been posted in 4 or 5 threads.
Bold and Italics means that the characters has doubled the required amount of threads.

Survey Deadline is Friday! by Yearbook Staff
Hey Everyone! This is a reminder that the surveys are due this Friday. I really appreciate those who have already sent theirs in or have begun too but I need many more in order for it to be a fair and accurate account of majority votes.
I appreciate everyone's help with this as I know they aren't always fun to fill out but I hope the reward of the yearbook itself is enough to keep you going!
Thank you!

Going MIA for a bit by Donovans and Co.
Hey Everyone,I'll be travelling out of town unexpectedly earlier than originally planned due to a family emergency. I will be leaving Saturday, so I'll attempt to clean things up tomorrow.
I will try to get some posting done while I am away as I plan to bring my kindle, but I can't say for sure if that will happen.
This also means that the yearbook may not happen until I come back, which isn't until the 18th. I know that is so close to the new term, but I'll try my best.
Thanks for your understanding!

Class posting - DEADLINE by DH Skies
We are reintroducing the house cup and the reward of an afternoon in the Mirage Chamber for the winning house. As such, we need to set a deadline for house points. It has been decided that this will be Monday 20th. Students are still welcome to post in class after this date if they want to continue their threads, but they will not count towards class points.

Fair posting by DH Skies
Hi all,As usual, with group work, it's quite hard to get it all to come together.
There is now a space for each booth at the fair. Whilst some staff have posted a summary of their booth, students from each group are also welcome to do this. Unless you have reason to believe there would be major disagreements, just bring the ideas given in your group thread together to describe the booth. Equally, any students who have a pressing desire to visit a particular country booth are welcome to do so, perhaps noting one or two features mentioned by the group, and have it evolve that way.
Go, have fun, eat snacks.
