Hannah Cooper-Forrester

Now that I have some free time, I figured I'd give us first years something to do while we wait for the new term to start. Besides, I always loved these threads...

So anyway, I'm Hannah, some of you upperclassmen may remember me, others may not. My mom used to be the Quidditch Coach here at Sonora, and I visited her over Midterm back when I was five. I've moved around a lot since then, so I wouldn't really say that I'm from anywhere, but right now we're living in Philadephia. My dad died a while back, so with every new home comes a new boyfriend for my mom. I stopped keeping track after Shayne, and now refer to all new boyfriends as "the Shayne". But I won't have to deal with anymore Shaynes anytime soon, as I'll be joining my cousin, Ronen, in Pecari. I'm so looking forward to having one room to call my own for seven years straight.

Seamus Michael McFarlan

March 23, 2008 9:24 PM
The name’s Seamus Michael McFarlan, the only son of me father, Michael McFarlan of County Cork, Ireland.

I’ve come to this school because my Aunt Katie used to teach here before she took sick. Ah, she well now, but after all the stories she told me about this grand place, I asked myself, now why would I be wanting to go to Hogwarts and its moldy old castle where me four older sisters can mother me to death when I could come to the States and attend the best Wizarding school in all the world. So I answered myself, ‘tis Sonora bound, I am. After all, with me being the smartest, most adventurous one in the family, where else am I to go?

Of course, the potion, so rumor has it, will put me in the House that only allows the cleverest, most accomplished students to dwell within its four walls. Aladren! I just hope they’ve a decent Quidditch team…

Mark Johnson

March 23, 2008 11:41 PM

What is up people. I am Mark Johnson, the newest muggleborn to the house of Pecari. I am a sports nut with a straight forward attitude. I came from California and my dad was one of the top Basketball players for his college until he tore his A.C.L in his junior year that ended his career.

Despite that fact, I am a sports nut, but because of my dad I love basketball more than any other sport. In fact, I used to spin the ball on my finger and let my finger fall one day and it continued to spin still levitating above my hand. That didn’t happen though till I was 10. So I am kind of a late bloomer.

I will be a headstrong kid who is ready to accept any challenge put in front of me here at Sonora. I was sorted into Pecari house were the active and spontaneous kids reign. So watch out cause here I come.\n

Hey, hey, hey. Birth name is Andrew, but it's Andy for the record. I'm all kinds of excited to be settling to one place for longer than a year. My dad's active duty in the Navy, currently overseas TAD. My mom tries to make up for it by drowning us all in embroidered underwear- she sews on tiny runes and stuff. So just to clear the air: I am NOT part of a cult. Mom's just a bit protective.

Mark- you're a b-ball kind of man then, right? Good to hear; I don't mind the hoops every now and again. Bigger fan of football and baseball though. Which is understandable, as they're only GREAT.

Looking forward to learning how to use this wand of mine. I'll finally have some kind of recourse when my brother tries to attack me in the middle of the night. I'll show him how to hex. /grins/

Hey Mark, good to see the next lot of Pecari's will have some more blokes amongst them. You wouldn't believe the sheer numbers of girls that inhabit this place. I swear if we weren't on constant guard they'd have painted the place pink, renamed the houses to things like 'bunnikins' and generally made the place into an unlivable hell.

Just wait until I show you the corridor ride ;) lots of fun stuff to be done around Sonora!

Hey Seamus - my Ma knows your Auntie! You sure got a big family. And I'll be in Aladren too!

I don't know if I'll play Quidditch, but I'm looking forward to flying lessons, but more than that to learning 'bout magical creatures!

I'm Miss Amelia Smythe, and don't you forget it, not even for a second. Of course you already know my cousin Lucas and my sister Cecily, but don't judge me by them, ok?

Obviously, I'm going to be in Crotalus. I've never shared a room before, but if the other girls are nice then I'll survive. I don't care about lessons - I'm only here to make friends and connections. So if you're having a party or anything, put my name at the top of the list, yes?

I was a bit worried about what kind of people would inhabit this school (you know, maybe losers like those dungeons and dragons geeks), but at the very least my roommates seem nice and normal, and sports fans to top it off. This is going to be excellent.

Anyway, if you hadn't guessed, I'm another of the Pecari muggleborns. I hail from one of those small towns in West Texas where high school football is everything (my oldest brother's the qb, it's way cool). Sonora should be fun, now that I know cool people actually do congregate here, and I'm rooming with them.

What's wrong with D&D geeks is that they're antisocial freaks who deserve all the torment they get.

... by the time these kids actually show up, I'll be Head Boy. I was projecting forward in time (figuratively, I mean: I haven't found a spell or device for time travel yet, though I suspect the Snitches might have one - how else do they disappear so entirely right after the whistle is blown but then can be found from almost a hundred feet away later in the game?).

And if I didn't know you could beat me up and if it wasn't completely against my nature, I'd challenge you to a duel over that slight to Star Trek. But you can and it is, so I'll just scowl and plot how to lose Pecari House points.

I don't think I could be accused of beating people up. I mean, sure, theoretically I could, because you're a midget and not exactly the strongest guy around, but that doesn't mean I would. I think you're getting me mixed up with my associates, the Cravens.

Also, Pecari doesn't need to lose any more points. We're in serious trouble this year. Must needs do something about that next year. Can't have another repeat of this travesty against all laws of man, nature and Sonora.

First of all, no place is perfect, though I will admit that, aside from a susceptibility toward alien attacks and the loss of Mr. Seamus Michael McFarlan's amazing aunt, Sonora does come close.

Secondly, I'm the Seeker on Alderaan's Quidditch Team, I had a date for the ball, I won Head Boy by popular vote, and I man the Prefect Station six days a week (I take Sundays off unless there's a Quidditch game, in which case, I take off for the game and open the Station on Sunday). These are not antisocial behaviors or accomplishments.

*Hesitates, decides not to touch the 'freak' issue, and nods decisively* Your generalization is completely unfounded.

Well, no, it would be as against your nature to beat me up as it would be for me to challenge you to a duel, but following the correlation that all personality characteristics ceased to affect us and I *did* challenge you to a duel, you would beat me up.

And, yeah, what happened to you Pecaris? Alderaan is usually way behind you. Now we're neck and neck with Teppenpaw for second and only a mere 2 points shy - a WotW could win the #2 slot for us.

Zack is in no way antisocial. Antisocial implies violence with a lack of empathy towards others or distaste for social order, like serial killers...

*pause*

Come to think of it, I might be considered minorly antisocial.

Furthermore, D and D (and I don't know a lot about it really) seems to involve multiple people, therefore is in fact a social activity, albeit a geeky one.

A person who is antisocial does not necessarily mean that they are violent. They are simply unwilling or unable to associate in a 'normal' way around others. They are not of social 'norms'.

Sometimes, mainly due to people who are serial killers, people assume those who are antisocial are also violent. Kind of like how when someone is schizophrenic, people automatically believe them to be violent, when, in fact, only a small percentage of Schizophrenic people show signs of violence.

Helllooo Pecaris! Kyler Kent here and I'm joining your ranks. Congratulations! I live in Denver with my muggle parentals. Mom's a producer and Dad's a stuntman, so I guess you can say its exciting. My ultimate goal is to reach the top of Mt. Everest.

I hope you guys are up for some entertainment, because I'm not worried about getting a detention for a prank (it just has to be worth it)!

Spontaneous, outgoing, and... spontaneous = Kyler. He's just going to live minute-by-minute and make sure it's not wasted on something like class. Where opportunity doesn't exist, make it happen. Where it does, make it happen.

I live in Denver with my parents, but my Dad travels every once in a while for his stunt-work (not complaining). My mom's pretty cool though. She's a movie producer and we're pretty tight. We do rock climbing and stuff together. Rock climbing's the best! Ever visited the Rockies?

And what, if I may be so bold as to ask, is wrong with being a Trekkie?

We are the most delightfully enlightened people on this little blue marble of a planet! We love jazz. “Except Dixieland, you can’t dance to it”. We are tolerant of differences in others “Infinite diversity in infinite combinations” We are brave as we “Boldly go where no one has gone before.” We are good at commitments, “Engage”. We wish all creatures “peace and long life”. And we are great leaders! “Make it so” Someday you will all learn of our greatness! Our “pah” is strong and eventually “You will all be assimilated”! “Query,” who could more special?

Live long and prosper, Zack!

I was in the Rockies last summer, but the only thing that climbed the mountains was our caravan of minivans, and a few of those didn't quite make it without help.

I am likewise a pureblood muggleborn in Pecari. However, my parents all live in California (I'm down to three after Mom's most recent divorce). I assume with a movie producer and stunt-man for parents, you've been to Hollywood. We may have even met. My mother is an actress. Kathleen Burbridge. You've probably heard of her. She's been in the tabloids a lot lately because her, um, eighth? ninth? marriage, this one to fellow actor and former co-star, Michael Green, just ended. It almost lasted a whole year.

Yes, it is very nice living in Hollywood. The weather is excellent, Disneyland is just an easy limo ride away, the beaches are wonderful, and my father's house is huge (he's a lawyer and my step-mother owns her own catering business, so my family is quite wealthy). Mom's house is nice, too, but Dad has her beat.

Anyway, I'm only twelve so unless you were at the premieres or the awards ceremonies AND your mother was my mother's producer, we probably weren't directly introduced. Since my father has primary custody of me, that's pretty much the only time I see the people she works with. My half-brother, Danny Nash, is around the movie crowds a little more. Do you know him? He's even played a few bit parts in some of Mom's movies.

Danny Nash... Name rings a bell, I may have met him at some distant csating luncheon. Hopefully it wasn't the one where I covered the set in silly-string...

Our house in Denver is right next to the mountains, so I'm able to climb the mountains whenever I get the chance! It's decent size, but Mom's not into the whole celebtrity life. She just works with them. Dad keeps asking her to buy a bigger house in Miami or something, but both she and I like Colorado too much. Plus, there are NO mountains in Florida!
