Highlights from Sonora

Holly immediately made friends with a group of Society girls upon arrival at Sonora. She was initially mistaken for a pureblood due to her being a rich girl and having all the right manners, and high quality clothing and supplies. When others introduced themselves using the pureblood formula 'of the Location Surname' she mimicked it perfectly, introducing herself as Holly Thistle of the Hollywood Thistles. (She did not like her own father's surname of Greer, finding it boring and drab, so she gave herself a much more pleasant sounding surname, without much care about reality.) By the time she told her new friends that she was a 'pureblood muggleborn' - as she didn't entirely understand either term - they already liked her and decided to pretend she was only the first half of that claim. Thus were born the Ladies of the First Year Court.

She was the only one sorted into Pecari, while one of her friends became an Aladren, and the other two Crotali. She would have liked to be a Crotalus as well, but being a Pecari did provide her the advantage where she didn't need to share a room with anyone else.

The other person she noticed very quickly was Raoul. Raoul Delachene was another Pecari, with the most gorgeous eyes and lovely blond hair and a French accent that made her swoon a little every time she heard it. At eleven, she decided Raoul was her Prince and she would marry him.

A little later in her school career, Thaddeus Flatt was hired. He was her bane. He was the History professor, and he was altogether too graphic for her highly sheltered Disney-rated life. Anytime she threw up or hyperventilated in his class, he just gave her calming potion instead of sending her to the nurse like she wanted to, to get out of his class. By the end of that year, she had a mild addiction to calming potions that only got worse as the following years progressed.

Thaddeus Flatt did eventually leave the school under a cloud of complaints - many of them from the Ladies - and they toasted themselves gleefully with their victory over their enemy.

In Care of Magical Creatures, her class visited a Flying Horse Ranch, and she knew that was what she wanted to do with her life.

By the end of her seventh year, she became engaged to Raoul as she'd always wanted, and they were married soon after graduation. She remained close to the Ladies.

Life after Sonora

She married her Sonora Sweetheart, Raoul Delachene right out of school. She apprenticed at a Flying Horse Ranch to learn how they operated. Within a few years, she had started her own. Unfortunately, in all that time, she had never become pregnant, even though she and Raoul had wanted children. She got examined by a Healer who determined her muggle medications for anxiety, combined with her overuse of calming potions, had resulted in a very low rate of viable eggs being ovulated. It wasn't impossible, but the odds were against them. So they decided to adopt.

Their first daughter was Jasmine, and she was everything Holly wanted in a daughter.

When Jasmine was four, the family decided together that Jasmine should have a little sister to play with so they adopted Anastasia.

Anastasia was nothing like the perfect experience Holly had with Jasmine. Anastasia hated dresses. She crawled around and rolled in horse refuse and laughed because of the faces this created on her parents. Anastasia also had no sense of self-preservation. At all. Holly was pretty sure the baby was actively trying to kill herself. The older she got, the more creative these suicide attempts became.

When Anastasia was one and a half, Holly was shocked to discover she was pregnant. She hadn't planned to have more than two children. But she readied the nursery for another princess.

Her only biological child wasn't a princess. He was a prince. She hadn't wanted a boy. She didn't know what to do with a little boy. She let Raoul take care of that one.

For her own mental health, she let him handle the one out to kill herself, too.

She still had the one princess.
