Most of the ways you can earn points for your character's houses are IC at Sonora, but not so much anymore. Introducing the Word of the Week!

We're always arguing that RPing in this format is fun and informative - a way of seeing different styles from different authors and improving our own writing, character development and vocabulary. Now you can prove that a little more.

With the Word of the Week competition you've a week to write one a post containing that week's word. Flag your entry post by mentioning the competition in the subject line - "(WotW)" will serve - and the best use of the word in a post will win five points for their house. The competition won't just be judged by me, I'm looking to have responsibility for it passed around. The winner of each week's competition will be responsible for coming up with a new word and judging the following week. The person running that week's WotW will not be eligible to enter (and I know who you all are, and who all your characters are, so no cheating or you'll lose points instead).

And, just to keep a little spice in this, if a word of the week is spotted misspelt in a post, that character will lose ten points for their house.

Sound like fun? Then ready your dictionaries, this week's starts now! The word:
Evince.

Is that one entry per character per week or one entry per author per week?

Per character. Just don't go overboard if you've got loads.

Yes you can. In fact, I should probably set it so you lose points for ungrammatical use of the WotW too. ;) Just to keep you all on your toes.
