Teppenpaw did not currently have a captain or assistant as Ms. Thornton and Mr. Browning had not been seen since the school resumed normal operations last January. Nathan had not spotted them in the Opening Feast, either, so he took it upon himself, as Selina Skies was doing in Crotalus, to hold try-outs for his House.
So, as Head of House, it was Nathan who put the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.
Teppenpaw Quidditch Try-Outs
Teppenpaw will hold try-outs next Sunday afternoon at 3pm. All students are welcome. No experience necessary. Please sign-up below if you are interested in joining the team.
Below the main text of the announcement, he set up a grid requesting people who signed up to provide their names, years, and which position they would like to play.
If necessary, with the lack of older players in both Houses, Teppenpaw may need to join its team together with Crotalus', but for now, they were going to at least attempt the normal four team set-up that the school normally played.

Liac awoke with a stir, first day of classes, first night at school, first… well everything. He sat up and looked around at his surroundings. It was an odd feeling not sharing the room with his little brothers, but his cousin Tobi made him feel a little more at home. He took some time to stretch and yawn, before he hopped out of bed. He wasn’t used of sleeping in, his dad usually had him up at the crack of dawn to help him in the workshop, so the extra sleep was a nice change.
After he had dressed and put on his robe, he scurried down the stairs, looking forward to a warm breakfast. “Maybe I can chat up some cute girls in the hall or something,” he joked to himself. As he was crossing the room, he noticed a new paper on the bulletin board in the Commons. He stood staring at the paper, wondering if it was anything worthwhile. It only took a few moments for his curiosity to trump his hunger, and before he knew it, he was reading the newly posted paper.
“Quidditch try outs huh?” he whispered to himself. He had only really played for fun with his family, and had never really considered joining a team. However, perhaps this was just the activity he needed if he wanted to make his year interesting. He took out the first quill he could find, and wrote in his messy script:
Liac Reinhart, 1st year, Chaser
He really didn’t care what position he played. Being the eldest, he often picked up the slack during family games, playing whatever position was needed. He liked chaser though, it was a fun position to play, not too much pressure either. He admired his work for a few seconds. Then when he felt satisfied, he sauntered off to breakfast, ready to have some fun.
