Yarielis Ayala Velez

Yarielis is of Puerto Rican heritage, and has mid-tone skin, dark eyes, and slightly wild curls down to the shoulders. Long, curly hair is… kind of a pain in the ass, to be honest. Chopping it all off sounds like a fantastic idea, ninety-nine percent of the time, but that one percent caution speaks awfully loudly for something so small. Yarielis is a big fan of hats, and is looking forward to being in a climate where beanies and just hiding in hoodies are valid style choices. If living entirely in baseball jerseys and shorts was an option, Yarielis would take it in a heartbeat. Wizard robes are kind of weird, but it’s probably okay if everyone wears them. They technically aren’t dresses, even if they look kind of like them. And it’s not like Yarielis never wears dresses—Mom picks out cute ones and Sunday best ones, and it’d be rude to tell her ‘no’ so Yarielis doesn’t, even though there is no such thing as a comfortable dress. They all suck. Yarielis has the kind of frame that’s never going to be super skinny—its slightly too broad shouldered for that, and having parents who run a bakery doesn’t help.
