Dillon walked aimlessly among the large bushes in the maze. Every-so-often he crossed a different species of plant that he had never encountered before and would stop to look at them.
Like animals, Dillon had taken a liking to plants. He had helped his mother garden and she would always tak him to greenhouses or nurseries to look at other flowers, trees, herbs, and sometimes weeds. For some unknown reason, plants fascinated him almost as much as animals, but now, in the world of Magic, Dillon was becoming somewhat fearful of them as well.
The last plant Dillon encountered tried to bite him. Another seemed almost to hiss at him. He was almost tempted to just keep walking as the next plant drew nearer. But still, his curiosity overcame him and he stopped to look at the plant.
While he was inspecting the plant, Dillon heared a noise from farther down the row. He turned his head to look, but saw nothing. Assuming he was just hearing things, he turned back to the plant. There was a louder noise and a sound of small running steps. Dillon looked again, but not quickly enough. The creature plowed into his legs at full speed, thowing him a few feet from where he had been standing.
Dillon, having been too shocked to react, had the wind knocked out of him and his glasses were thrown from his face. Now blurry and confused, Dillon rolled onto his stomach and searched for his glasses. When he finally found them, he placed them back on his head. Now that he could see, he wish he couldn't. There, directly infront of him, stood a hairless creature with skin that was a greenish color and long arms and legs that were webbed. On it's forehead was a large blister or bubbles that was turning an odd shade of crimson. If Dillon hadn't already gone to the bathroom earlier, he was sure that he would have wet himself in fear.
Dillon rolled slowly back onto his back and as quickly as he could, began backing away from the creature. Because he couldn't see what was behind him, he didn't notice the pair of legs that were a few feet away from where he had landed. Dillon back directly into the person. Fear seized, he thought for sure that this would be another one of those creatures wanting to taste his blood. He looked up into the face of another human being. Relief rushed over him and Dillon was then reminded of how stupid he must seem,
Leann stared at all the plants. This garden was amazing, and quite different from the rest of the school and desert. It was rather cool here, and Leann had decided to come. She was just walking along a path with she heard a thump, and then, a few more steps and a boy backed into her. He looked up at her and a look of relief came over his face.
"Er-um-hi." He chuckled nervously. Leann smiled as she held out a hand to help him up. "Hi." She said.\n\n
Sorry, there's killer animals on the loose

Dillon took her hand gratefully and helped himself up off the ground. He adjusted his glasses and then patted the dirt and dust from his robes. He turned back to look at the creature, but it was moving off in the opposite direction. He then focused his attention on the girl he had bumped into.
"Hi. I'm Dillon Welsh. Sorry about that, that-er-thing collided with me and scared the hell out of me." Dillon said with a smile as he tried getting all the grass and dirt from his auburn hair. "Thanks for helping me up."\n\n

Leann laughed. "Your welcome."
"I'm Leann Borne. You probably scared it. I remember reading about those, but I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was. I have a very bad memory." Leann laughed as she pushed her red hair out of her eyes.
"It's amazing what you can find in this place." She then stared at Dillon. "I'm sorry, I'm rude. Are you okay?"\n\n

Dillon laughed, causing him to draw himself up to his full 5'7 height. He turned back to the animal that had run him down and than quickly back to Leann who had said something about him scaring it.
"I scared it? It ran into me!" Dillon said in a mocked dignified voice. "I have no idea what it is though. No doubt we'll be learning about it in Care of Magical Creatures at some point in our school career. And yes, it is rather amazing. So far I have been bitten by a plant, hissed at by a plant, and now mowed over by some derranged creature." Dillon said with a laugh.\n\n

Leann laughed and looked up at Dillon. There were to many tall people here.
"I wouldn't call it deranged exactly...more, extremely disfigured." Leann laughed.
"Well, I've had good luck with the plants. One wanted me to pet it, another purred at me...one offered me something...now THAT thing was disfigured."Leann laughed and looked at the thing that was now turning a corner.
well whatever it is, it still attacked me

Dillon turned back to the creature and laughed along with Leann. He turned back to face her, having to look down as she was much shorter than himself. How is it that she had gotten lucky with the plants and they seemed to hate me? He thought with amusement.
"I wonder what kind of creature it is?" Dillon thought vaguely as he silently wished for one of Zoey's many books that was sure to tell him about the mysterious creature that had knocked him down.\n\n

Dillon could do the only thing at the sight of Leann getting her nose nipped, he laughed. He jumped out of the way from the plant and practically fell over again from the laughter.
"Are...you...alright?" He breathed out between his laughter. He took him a few minutes to compose himself before he could continue with any sort of conversation.
"I guess I'm not the only one who has trouble with the plants." He was still chuckling, "Well, in respect to the creatures, I just better not get bowled over by another one anytime soon. I don't think my backside can take it."\n\n
Leann jumped back and rubbed her sore nose, glaring at the plant. When she heard Dillon ask if she was okay, she turned to him.
"Yes I..." She was cut off by Dillon, who was practically rolling around on the ground laughing.
"I'm glad you see my misfortunes so hilarius." Leann said to him, leaning against a bush to wait for him to answer, because she had a feeling it might be a while. She smiled.

"Well, I'm happy to provide you with a laugh." Leann said as she took Dillon's arm.
"And since you didn't really wait for an answer, I suppose I might as well walk with. Heck, it's gotta be better then being bit by a plant." Leann sent one last look at the plant, before turning her head away and starting to walk. A breeze blew past her, causing her to shiver.
"Oooh, it's cold..." She said.\n\n

Dillon began to lead Leann away from the crazed plants and into the direction the crazed creature had walked off in. He didn't particularly wish to meet back up with it, but he figured that this was really the only way to go. He had already seen everything in the other direction.
"Oooh, it's cold..."
Dillon looked down at Leann, he wasn't cold himself, but he was probably more insulated. He released his arm from hers and took off his robe. He had on a long-sleeved shirt with a t-shirt underneath that. He took off his long-sleeved shirt and handed it too her,
"Here, use this. It'll keep you warm." He put his robes back on and held out his arm again for her to take. "So, Leann, where are you from?"\n\n
