[After the club] Hang out time? [Tag: Lenny]
by Leviosa Scurlock
Performing arts club was fun, as always. It was a type of friend time but it wasn’t Close Friend Time. Especially now Lenny was leading. Before, when Rosalynn had been in charge, it had been a chance for him and Levi to goof around together and spend time with each other, but now he had to think about everyone. It was fun, watching him shine—a bit like when they went to cheer Cole on at Quidditch. Only (if she was the kind of honest she would never be with Cole) a lot more interesting and less concerning than watching a Quidditch match. She liked seeing her friends being their best selves, but she also liked being the focus of their attention, and so she hung back as everyone else made their way out.
“Great first meeting.” She gave Lenny a high five (one of the many cool and fun things he had introduced her to). “I loved the bit where you ended up as an underwater server. It was so funny.” There had been lots of exaggerated misunderstandings as they all pretended to have bubblehead charms on, and then when the server had finally brought their food, they’d realised they couldn’t eat it. It was the kind of pure, chaotic silliness that she got to be part of in this club, and she hoped her friend knew how much that meant to her, even though she’d never felt exactly able to say so in as many words. Or rather, she talked about the club and its silliness, and she occasionally mentioned the much more straight-laced activities she did at home, but she didn’t draw the comparisons and conclusions out loud.
“Do you want to stay and hang out for a bit?”

Lenny grinned as he connected with Levi's high five. He had also thought the meeting had gone well, but it was encouraging to hear that the members thought so, too. Levi was maybe a tiny bit biased, though, being one of his best friends. Still, there'd been a lot of laughing, so he hoped she was in the majority on that opinion.
"Sure!" he agreed when she suggested staying and hanging out for a bit. "Just need to clean up some of this stuff. Want to help me get all the props and costume pieces back in their boxes?" Most of the food table the elves would take care of, but the things he'd brought in for the improv bit would need to be put back away so he could stick them back under his bed under they were needed again.
As he walked past the food table, though, he did grab one of the remaining vegan cookies (about half the food had been vegan by his request, though he'd provided some normal snacks for everyone else, too, so he wasn't forcing his food preferences on anybody) and pop it in his mouth to reward himself for the successful meeting.
After he finished chewing and swallowing, and putting a handful of colorful shawls and scarves into the costume box, he asked, "Did you have anything specific in mind to do or talk about?"
"Sure!" Levi said, more than happy to help. Partly, that was just the right thing to do - especially when a large number of the dress up items were out because of her in the first place, but even if they hadn't been. Secondly, it was a good excuse to put things on again. After all, wearing a crown and a cloak across the room was a perfectly valid way of carrying them - she could, potentially, carry even more if she added in other bits of her body. She went around scooping and donning various costume items in order to transport them to the box, including a very nice hat with a feather in it which she put on top of the crown she was already wearing.
"I should get into hats. They're fun," she declared as she returned it to the box and followed Lenny's lead in 'tidying up' some of the spare cookies.
"Nnnmpf," Levi replied to his question, indicating that her mouth was full right now. Though actually she took a second bite of cookie to give herself thinking time. "Just wondering... What books you're reading? Or what you're up to? How's things?" she asked, all with the air of someone who had very much just changed what she was going to say mid-sentence.
