Rosalynn had graduated and left the performing arts club to Lenny. This was a leadership position far more to his liking and skillset than prefect, and he'd repeated that to Cole several times since the Opening Feast, but now that it was time to actually run his first meeting, he was starting to wonder if maybe he would have preferred not to have any leadership position in the school. That was just passing nerves though, and by the time he'd reserved for the room, put up the posters advertising the event, and arranged for some snacks and a big jug of water to keep everyone hydrated, he was feeling much more confident and competent.
Now it was the day of their first meeting, and Lenny arrived early, picturing a stage with a bit of classical music going on quietly in the background as he walked into the music room of MARS.
"Hi, everyone!" he greeted the group cheerfully when it looked like people had stopped arriving. "If I can have all of sit down in a circle?" He gave them a few seconds to arrange themselves. There were a few chairs placed around the stage if anyone wanted to drag them over, but Lenny just knelt down on the stage floor, spreading his skirt out around him. "I'm Lenny Pierce, a fifth year Teppenpaw, and I'm this year's Performing Arts Club president. My pronouns are He and Him," he added, for those new people who didn't know that, as it would be easy to make a mistake about that, given that he was wearing a long green flowy skirt and a glittery top that showed a little midriff. He wore his reddish-brown hair long, his nails were painted, and he wore shimmery gloss on his lips. He was fifteen, nearly sixteen, but he showed no signs of puberty, neither breasts nor deep voice. He'd been on hormone blockers for about two years now, which kept him looking comfortingly androgenous in body, but his fashion style was decidedly feminine, and it would be easy to mistake him for a girl if one didn't know better.
"For this first meeting, we're just going to do some introductions and get to know what kinds of performances we're all interested in so we know what to focus on in future meetings. And maybe we'll do a little bit of an improv show after that if there's time. So, as I said, I'm Lenny, and I like dancing and juggling and I can do some slight-of-hand tricks. I'm awful at singing and not too great at playing instruments, but I'm happy to do either, though the people around me probably won't be." He grinned a little in self-deprecation, hoping that would encourage the others to be willing to share not only their talents but also the things that they found to be fun but weren't very good at.
He nodded to one of the people sitting closest to him on the stage, figuring everyone should have a turn so they may as well go in a clockwise circle. "What about you? Tell us a little about yourself and what kind of performances you're interested in being a part of, or learning about, or even just watching."

Levi had been a long-standing member of the performing arts club, and now that Lenny was in charge, there was even more reason to go, as it meant she’d be supporting her friend at the same time. She arrived bright and early, one of the first people to get there, and gave Lenny an enthusiastic hug.
“This looks lovely!” she said. The classical music reminded her a little bit of her mother, which was sort of the antithesis of what she usually felt at performing arts club, but she wasn’t going to say anything bad about Lenny’s first meeting. Plus, she trusted that just because there was classical music going, it didn’t mean the club was about to become all stuffy and serious. It was hard to imagine that with Lenny in charge.
When everyone arrived, she took a space near her friend, which meant that she was one of the first to introduce herself.
“I’m Levi. She/her,” she said, not bothering with her full name since she didn’t want anyone to use it. “I was new to everything except ballroom dancing, which I didn’t like much, when I joined the club. I kind of like trying out everything—I’ve had a go at sword fighting, which I actually did for real, well pretend-real—I did it on stage at the concert—and then last year I got to try salsa dancing and I want to do that again for sure. I like it when we do improv, and I just like having fun here.” She smiled widely.
