Almost there and not sure how I feel about that. by Reighleigh Mae Thorn

OOC: Ray is obviously pregnant now, around 9 months. BIC:

Ray had found a corner of the library far enough away from the maind esk that the professor librarian dude was unlikely to notice right away how likely she was to throw up. She had been lied to about morning sickness being relegated solely to mornings. Or to the first trimester. Everything sucked and she was ready to be done but she was absolutely not ready to give birth. Was that a thing anyone could just be ready for? Some of the authors of the stupid books she'd been searching through seemed to be and she wasn't sure whether she preferred to think they were lying - either to her or to themselves - or whether they weren't and she was the odd duck for hating this all so much. The trash can tucked between her knees, ready for the random nausea to finally make its way up as it had so many times before, made her think that she was reasonable for hating this but apparently not everyone felt that way. Certainly Billy seemed happier about it than she was, although she suspected there was some underlying terror there too.

Terror was the right word for most of this honestly. The magical world had, in many ways, significantly better technology than muggles. In a moment they could cure nausea, body aches, heartburn, all of it. Heck, you could sleep with a feather weight charm so you didn't have to be so stuck when you tried to roll over... if you weren't pregnant. Somehow their studies on gestational safety were even worse than muggles (it didn't help of course that Ray would probably fry an ultrasound machine with her magic zappy blood) and there wasn't much Ray could do except have a house elf keep her supplied well with water, antacids, and snacks when she could keep them down. She'd mostly been working with a little wrinkly dude named Berticus and as much as she hated the idea of house elves, she couldn't help acknowledge how helpful he'd been to her through this whole thing.

Almost the whole thing... Besides the stack of awful pregnancy and newborn reference books laying around the table, and on top of the Charms essay she'd been working on for normal advanced charms and a Potions essay she'd been working on to make up for the fact that her stupid pregnant body couldn't do some of the same activities as her peers for Professor Brooding-Hawthorne... there was a calendar. March 20th was circled, although she knew that didn't necessarily mean much one way or the other. She could go over, she could go early, who knew? Regardless, it was a date that had been looming closer for a long time and now suddenly it seemed entirely too close for comfort. Seventeen days. A second circle was looming just three days away: her own seventeenth birthday. She had high hopes she'd at least make it that far so she didn't have to be a teen pregnancy, she'd be an adult teenager. It didn't matter, but it did. Especially when Billy was already an adult.

But now she had to decide whether to marry the guy or not. She was pretty sure she already knew the answer she'd decided on and she was even more sure that Billy had some assumptions about her answer, but soon she'd have to properly put words to it and decide.

Ray sighed and leaned back in her chair, rubbing her belly and grimacing as the new position made the little monster kick especially roughly. They'd said the baby would seem to slow down as she got nearer her due date as it ran out of room to move, but apparently no one told the baby that. The sound of someone dropping their own books or something on the other side of her table made her open her eyes, and she looked up at her new table buddy with one eyebrow raised.

Should we make a list of pros and cons? by Iris Cobb

Iris was not a fan of schoolwork, but it was a small price to pay to be away from the mountain. Well... relatively small as she spotted Ray and dropped her load of books on the table across the table from her friend... and possibly more? She wasn't entirely sure on that front yet, but at the very least Ray was carrying her niece or nephew. Iris still couldn't really believe that. It was all her stupid brother's fault and now Ray was suffering because of it. She knew the story and it wasn't like Billy hadn't done anything that Ray hadn't agreed to, but still it was easier to blame other people's misery on her dumb brother. It was easier when he was actually involved.

The Crotalus gave the Pecari a friendly smile of concern. "How are you feeling? Is there anything I can get for you? Help you with? Red haired boys I can punch for you?" Levity wasn't always her strong suit, but a little bit couldn't hurt. Unfortunately Iris didn't know what Ray wanted right now. Did she want to talk about things or did she want to talk about anything except that? Did she even want to talk at all? Iris couldn't imagine being in Ray's situation at all... mainly because that would involve close interactions with a boy. She'd given up on Hansel by now, grudgingly. Henry had been very nice so far, but she wasn't quite to the point where she could picture him and her.. getting into Ray and Billy's situation just yet.

Iris pulled the top book off of her stack and flipped it open to the first page. "Are you working on that Charms essay as well?" That would give Ray the opportunity to talk about things either way, or not at all if that is what she wanted.
