Getting around to this by Jose Hernandez

He had all the names he'd wanted to get onto his cast now. That was the only reason he'd waited this long to get it removed, so, shortly after putting up the Pecari Roster, Jose made his way over to the Hospital Wing, knocked his left knuckles against the doorframe to let the medic inside know he was here, then wandered inside. There was no urgency to his medical need, and the new medic could take as long as he like doing whatever it was he was doing. "No hurry," he called out, so the new healer would know that he didn't need to drop everything for this visit.

When the man did make his appearance, Jose grinned and waved his casted wrist at him. The cast was months old, covered with signatures, and muggle-made. It wrapped across the palm of his hand, that area stained dark from months of using his dominant hand even with the cast on it, and down to just below his elbow. It had done a good job of stabilizing his wrist over the summer, probably not as well as the muggle doctors would have wished had the bones in it remained broken more than 24 hours, but enough that Jose was sure its only remaining problem was three months of disuse.

"I'm Jose Hernandez," he introduced himself first. He didn't mention his House or Year because the Pecari badge on his robes made it obvious, and the Head Boy one made it obvious he was a seventh year even if his meager height of 5'4" didn't.

"If you're busy, I can come back later," he offered, because he'd worn the cast this long already, another couple of days would not make a difference. "I just want the cast off - whole, if you can manage it - so I can keep it as a souvenir." He wasn't quite sure how magic folk removed muggle casts, but he hoped it could just be magically enlarged and slid off instead of cutting it. First of all, slicing it off would sever some of his autographs, and secondly, he didn't like the idea of something that could cleanly split plaster getting that close to his skin.

"It's not broken or anything. I had a magic doctor look at right after it happened and she fixed it right up, but my muggle employers saw me fall, so I had to keep the cast on all summer." He looked it over, taking one final inventory of names and nobody was missing, so he continued, "I'm ready for it to come off now. The itching's not too bad, I've got a charm for that, but I need to start training for Quidditch again." The Quidditch Captain badge, worn beside the Prefect one, made that only slightly less obvious than his House and Year, but this time the obvious was relevant enough to mention.

Medic Bailey

Helping out by Medic Bailey

Dylan was thoroughly enjoying his time at Sonora. There was never a dull moment with children around him. He was amazed at how much work he actually had at the school. When he had taken the job he had thought that his infirmary wouldn't be the scene for a lot of diseases or injuries, but he had been wrong. He didn't mind about it, because that was why he had been hired for. Plus, children were full of something that made him pretty happy. He didn't know what it was, but it did. Time had passed pretty quickly and midterm as around the corner, and he couldn't wait to go home and tell everyone all about his new job. His parents hadn't been very impressed with his decision to become a school-healer. They had told him that he wouldn't go up in the healer hierarchy, something Dylan didn't really mind. He wasn't ambitious; he just wanted to do what he loved. Being the Sonora healer helped him pay his bills and all. That was everything he really needed.

The Healer spent the majority of his work day cupped in his office reading medical articles to stay on top of his game. He was in the middle of sipping his tea when he heard someone knock on the door. He had charmed the hospital wig door to echo any knock in his office. It was a brilliant way to always be ready when someone came knocking. Plus, he didn't have to check every so often to see if someone was waiting for him.

He smiled at the young man in front of him. Dylan was never too busy to take care of his charges, unless he was taking care of another student. His brown eyes looked at him and he saw the multiple badges on his robes. “It is very nice to meet you, Jose. I am Medic Bailey.” He waved back. “I am not busy,” he said with a smile.

Jose just needed to have his cast taken off. He could do that in a few minutes, it wouldn't take a lot of time from anyone. Dylan struck his chin with his fingers. “It is easily done. I just need to enlarge your cast and voila.” Jose was clearly a seventh-year, and Dylan didn't know why he had come to him when he could have easily done it himself. He didn't have anything broken.

“Hand it here,” Dylan stretched his hand to Jose. He waited for him to give it to him and then he casted the spell that would make it bigger. He slid the cast off and then charmed it to its original size. “Here, your souvenir.” Dylan gave it to Jose. After that, Dylan rummaged through his shelves looking for a potion. He finally found it after a few minutes and handed it to Jose, “This will help strengthen your arm muscles faster.” His arm would be weak in comparison to his other one due to disuse and if he wanted to practice Quidditch he needed to be 100% recuperated. “Anything else I can help you with?” he finished with a friendly smile.
