Medic stalking with Lily by Jenna Howard

Well, she'd had a good run, four full years and the first night of her fifth year was her first trip down the Hospital Wing. Technically it was three years, but really, who was counting?

The whole situation made Jenna felt awkward, as if the abdominal pain wasn't enough as it was. She was not used to going to anyone for help, and she didn't like the feeling of it at all. It was completely against the way she was raised. Of course, there were many things the brunette did do that were against the way she was brought up and didn't bother her at all, but somehow this was different.

The black hood of her Weird Sisters sweatshirt fell off her head as she attempted to straighten out her green robes in vain. Walking into the Hospital Wing with Lily, she wondered just what she was going to say once she found the medic- “Hi, my friend lacks the ability to cook food and now I think she's given me food poisoning so could you just give me a remedy and I'll be on my way?” That sounded completely idiotic, even in her mind. Then of course there was the whole ordeal of actually finding the medic. Chrissy and the others seemed pretty sure that they saw the medic leave the Hall. “He's gotta be here, right?” she said, voicing her uncertainty. Where else was a medic going to go?

It was then that she noticed an open cabinet filled with all sorts of vials and containers, and she ventured towards it curiously. She did know the basic properties of a lot of common potion ingredients. Maybe if Jenna read all the labels, she could figure the correct remedy out without even having to talk to the medic.

A wave of nausea and pain came over her and she stumbled back, her arms wrapping around her waist. This was certainly something new.

Re: Medic stalking with Lily by Lily Collins

Lily stalked through the halls, keeping a careful eye on Jenna . She didn't stare, just watched to make sure the other girl didn't pass out and got there in one piece. Lily had never actually been to the Hospital Wing either, so she had only the vaguest idea where it was. She was relieved to reach it without getting lost.

"Uh, yea, he should be," She replied to Jenna's comment about the medic. Lily couldn't imagine where else he'd have been. She looked around the room "Hello?" Lily didn't know the proper title for him so she called out " Mr. Wolfe? Are you here?"

The blonde turned back to her roommate, in time to see the other girl stumble. Lily wasn't one to freak out and get overly worried or anything, but it wasn't really a good sign. Jenna must be in a lot of pain. "Perhaps you should lie down on one of the beds" Lily suggested. She hoped the medic got here soon. Jenna clearly needed a remedy for this.

Stalking is not to be taken lightly by Nicolas Wolfe, Medic

Wolfe dashed into the hospital wing. He left for five minutes to change his waistcoat and students wandered in. 'Of course they would come when I am gone. I swear the little monsters have detection spells placed on the room that only go off when I leave.' He inwardly grumbled.

"Stay away from those vials," he barked. "You," he pointed at the one that was having no trouble standing on her own. "Out!" The last thing he needed was the spread of infection if the stumbling girl was contagious.

He didn't wait for the child to obey but hurried assist his patient. "You need to tell me your name and what is wrong with you. Can you walk to the bed just here?" His tone was gentle and he pitched his voice to soothe. "If you cannot walk I will carry you."

His initial diagnosis pointed to a bacterial infection or food poisoning. He did not think the child would have made it to the hospital wing conscious if she had a ruptured spleen.

True, but my author often lacks the ability to be serious by Jenna Howard

Jenna fought the urge to make a snide remark at the sound of the medic yelling. It was a conditioned response, really, that came from the fact that usually when someone was yelling at her, it was her mother. And it usually had something to do with Jenna's lack of social skills or Jenna's obsession over potions or Jenna's inability to be exactly like Jordanna. So she bit the inside of her cheek, so as to keep her mouth from opening and saying something stupid.

When she was sure she wouldn't make a fool out of herself, she spoke quietly, "Thanks for everything Lily. I'll see you later, I guess."

She turned back to the medic, "I can walk, thanks." The girl would have said the same thing even if she wanted to collapse right on the spot (which did look somewhat appealing at the moment, but she figured she could walk all the same). Jenna never really liked the idea of too much human contact, never really had the chance to get used to it, either. Therefore, being carried was definitely out of the question.

Making her way to the nearest bed, she sat down on the edge and was silent for a minute. Arms clutched around her stomach as she rocked back and forth, she tried to calm down her nerves so that she could think intelligently. Really, at the first sign of pain and nausea, why did her head suddenly think she was about to die?

She looked back up at the medic, "I'm Jenna Howard," she said, "My stomach is in some serious pain- or at least that region, anyway, and I feel nauseous," she paused for a moment, then figured he'd probably would want to know what she had eaten recently, "I had some tortilla chips and melted cheese, this weird chowder think, I forget what it was called... those mini hot dogs, there was sushi, but I think Lenny used meat..." her voice trailed off, and her eyes looked down to the floor. If the medic knew anything about the Howard family, and how much they disliked Muggles, he was certainly going to have some sort of reaction to what she was about to say next, "All the food, it came from muggle shops... you can laugh now."

A medic should always be serious by Wolfe, Medic

"I'm Jenna Howard," she said, "My stomach is in some serious pain- or at least that region, anyway, and I feel nauseous. I had some tortilla chips and melted cheese, this weird chowder think, I forget what it was called. Those mini hot dogs, there was sushi, but I think Lenny used meat. All the food, it came from muggle shops. You can laugh now."

He frowned slightly at the child. So it was food poisoning. That was no surprise really though she was awfully long winded for someone in severe pain.

The good news was he had potions available amongst other supplies which would stave the bacterial infection in the girl's gut. The bad news was the girl would be spending the night in the hospital bed on one of the not so comfy cots. Wolfe, of course would be sleeping at his desk as he did most nights with a silencing spell placed on his familiar to keep the chatter down.

He searched through the various vials and bottles until he found what he sought. Carefully measuring out the correct dosage for the child he poured it into a small cup. "Try to drink this down, Miss Howard. Then you can sit back and relax. I will need you to stay here overnight for observation. Your professors will be informed of your whereabouts." As an afterthought he added, "You will have to wait about thirty minutes for the potion to work its desired result."

He would watch her for a few minutes to make sure the girl's condition did not worsen, but he was confident the child would be fine.
