There was a forest in what used to be the Quidditch Pitch. Trees, bushes, flowers, and everything that one could find in a forest was currently replacing the neat well-kept ground of the Pitch. Weather charms had been placed all around the Pitch, giving the students that would use it for the Midterm activity, a comfy spring setting. It gave the students of Sonora the chance to relax from their studies and just have a little bit of fun. Time out of studies was very important to help them recharge batteries for the next half of term, exams were coming up. Usually the second-part of the year was more stressful. The Midterm Entertainment Board always worked hard to provide fun things to do during that time of the year, for those who remained on school grounds. Of course, safety charms had been placed all around the place, so the students could have fun in a save environment. Accidents usually ended in problems for the administration.
This year the Pitch had been transformed to be the scene of a beloved Easter activity: an Egg Hunt. The eggs had been hidden in the new forest provided by charms. Each egg had a different thing inside. The student could find a variety of things inside of it, and it could range from sweets to the random explosion of the egg to give the carrier a shower of confetti. Some knuts were hidden inside of them. They needed a basket to carry them, since the eggs would unravel their mystery at the end of the day. The baskets, as well as the eggs, had been charmed to prevent thievery among the students.
The eggs has been decorated in different colors to get the attention of the hunters, some of them were visible to the random wanderer, but others had been really well hid, just to give the students a greater challenge in the activity. Not to mention that they would have to make use of their magical knowledge to get them. Some eggs had to be summoned. Also, broomsticks were available to gather the eggs that were on the tree-tops. Once all the eggs had been gathered, new ones would be placed.
Throughout the activity refreshments would be provided for everyone. A small stand would be available with the food and drinks. The praire-elves were in charge of providing this service. They were also responsible of making sure that the eggs were replaced once all of them were gone.

Sophie had chose to stay at Sonora during midterm for a number of reasons. Most important of those reasons was that her father was going to busy and wouldn’t see her anyway. It was him she wanted to see. Other reasons included Liz not able to get off work, Serapes having to stick around at the school at which he taught, and Ileum wanting to spend the holiday with his biological family, also known as his parents.
It would have been wrong to impose herself on him. Plus, the Pecari noted, it would have been miserable to spend it with her aunt. As much as she loved her, Sophie didn’t feel like faking the pureblood thing. Not on the holiday. It would suck.
So instead, she stuck around the school. It was a pretty cool place, and the adults there were all rather awesome. The blonde enjoyed almost everything about the school. She kind of missed her buddy Ryan--he was with his family, which she hoped was going well. His mom wasn’t the nicest lady--but understood why he wasn’t there. Oh well, she decided. I just have to make new friends. There was that midterm thingy on the Pitch, so it would be fun, right?
It was just a pirate kind of day.
Sophie dressed herself in a black-and-white striped shirt with a wide-cut neckline, which slid slightly off of her tiny shoulder, a black skirt, black-and-white striped tights, black boots, a red scarf across her head, and a single gold hoop earring. Both of her ears were pierced of course, but the other held just a small skull-and-cross-bone stud. She attached a paper ship to her skirt’s belt loops for fun and walked off to the Pitch for the event-type-thing, bobbing as she went like a real boat on the sea.
When she discovered a forest where Quidditch things once were, she disembarked the boat, leaving the card-board ship where she was standing. I’ll get it later, she promised herself with no intention to follow through.
A basket in hand, she took off for the egg hunt. Usually that was an Easter thing, but the “thirteen-ish” year old--her birthday was on Christmas--was not complaining. Spying one close to her, she reached for it with her small hand, but as she touched it, so did another. Pulling her hand back, she grinned, “You can have that one. It’s cool.” Remembering her pirate vibe, she added, “Arrr!”
