Quidditch Roster by The Coach

All in all, tryouts had gone well. There was a good mix of experienced and new players who had signed up for tryouts and for the most part, they'd all done well. The benefit to that, of course, was that there were more people to practice with and more people to learn the game before actually playing it. There were several first and second years who were interested, and giving them the opportunity to play was important, whether they were really sure what position they wanted to play - or even whether they liked Quidditch - or not.

A few days after tryouts, once The Coach had had time to go over the notes that had been taken at the time, the times taken, and some observations from the day, the roster went up. Reserves were aplenty this year, and all good fliers. That meant they could learn to serve in almost any position should the need arise, and that meant a strong team. That was the important thing.

In any case, all of those who had tried out would be able to participate in the flying skills display during the Tumbleweed trip if they wanted to. Details for that - such as the location, expectations, and time, as well as a good way to get in touch with The Coach should anyone have any questions - went up alongside the roster.

First String:

Keeper - Tatiana Vorontsova
Chasers - Ness McLeod, Heinrich Hexenmeister, Evelyn Stones
Beaters - Hilda Hexenmeister, Nathaniel Mordue
Seeker - Eden Manger

Second String Seeker: Jeremy Mordue

Reserve Players: Anya Delachene, Morgan Garrett, Mara Morales, Joanna Rose-Turner

OOC - Please note that this is the roster both OOC and IC this year (woo!). Feel free to send any questions in Chatzy or on the OOC board. Happy flying!

Something good by Joanna Rose-Turner

News of the roster didn’t get around to Jo before she happened upon it after walking through the Cascade Hall by chance. Her heart jumped into her throat as she read through the announcement, and finally read her name at the very end. Though she’d heard the Quidditch team had been sparse the previous year, and she’d spent many frustrating hours on the Quidditch Pitch to get some of the basics, her rough start had truly made her believe she would be left out.

The struggle to acquire broom skills had really shocked her. The night after the first practice, where she struggled what felt like hours to get the broom to even move off of the ground, she had cried herself to sleep as quietly as possible so the other Teppenpaws wouldn’t hear her. How could she perform so poorly when she had once felt this activity would become one of her greatest passions?

Though she was only a reserve player, being included on the team at all felt like something of a victory. She decided she would continue practicing on the Quidditch field later that day, and keep trying to get better.
