Celestial Navigation by Professor Jackson
Jackson had enjoyed his lesson with his seventh years but today was a totally different type of class. The classes previous to this one had been getting the students familiar with the stars they would need for tonight’s activity. Celestial Navigation as it was called would be important for students who traveled by broom. Jackson himself chose to travel by broom most times as he loved navigating with the stars. He waited on the balcony of his classroom with the brooms he had charmed to track the students. The charm would allow him to say any of the students at any time to make sure they were on track and not fooling around on his charmed sky in the class room.Finally the students began to join him. He exchanged a few greetings with the students as they waited for their comrades. Once everyone was gathered he clapped his hands as he always did to start class. “Ladies and Gents today we are going to test your knowledge of Celestial Navigation!” He said happily. “I will give you a couple locations. Your job is to find how to get there using the stars.”
“At each location you will be given a token from a friend of mine there so I know you completed the task. You have one hour to complete the circuit and be back for credit. If you get to all five locations you get 100 percent, if you only get to four you get 90 percent, three is 80 percent, two is 70 and one is 60. Understand?” He asked as he waited for a moment before he nodded. “Already let’s get started!” He said and with that the students got on the charmed brooms and left.
The circuit was a large circle only 100 miles that they should be able to navigate easily. From his room he would be able to see everything that happened, along the way some of his old colleagues were there to watch for the students if they got in trouble. He smiled as he went inside and flopped on his chair as he began to watch some of the students pull in front of others.
