Coach Amelia Pierce

The Quidditch finals were scheduled about a month into the new term. It gave both teams time to get back into practice after midterm, but was early enough to allow the soccer team plenty of time to practice for the meet against Rocky Mountain International. Sonora's Quidditch coach imagined the House teams would continue to practice for the remainder of the year, but without any more games planned until next year, any overlapping players could concentrate most of their effort on the inter-school competition.

Since it was still February, the air was definitely chilly the morning of the Finals (people from climates more temperate than her native New England would probably even deem in 'cold'). There was no snow, even on the ground, but Amelia was glad for her heaviest robes. The sun was bright and seemed to make everything stand out more crisply than normal, as it only seemed able to do in winter. At least the ground and stands weren't blindingly white, else the glare might have made her eyes already begin to ache.

She waited patiently for the teams to assemble on the field, and for their captains to offer their pre-game pep talks. Once it seemed those were wound down, she called the two over to her.

"Congratulations on making the Quidditch Finals this year," she said, with the assistance of a Sonorus charm, so the whole of the audience could hear as well. "We're here to see Pecari and Teppenpaw play for Sonora's Quidditch Championship. Would the captains, Hannah Laurent of Teppenpaw and Jose Hernandez of Pecari please shake hands." Once the two had done so, she waved them back to their respective teams. "Game begins at my whistle."

She released the snitch from the chest of balls sitting open beside her, and then freed the bludgers into the air. She finally picked up the Quaffle, held it in one hand, her whistle in the other, and counted down, "Three, two, one." She blew the whistle shrilly, and threw the final red ball high into the air.

The Finals had begun.

Kirstenna, Tepp Keeper

Kirstenna held her breath as she shot the quaffle out onto the pitch, she knew the throw had been too hard, and that it had probably gone far away. Hopefully, one of the Teppenpaw Chasers was out there to get it.

What the! How could Tristan have got it back again? Kirstenna had thrown it extremely hard and it had been going rather fast. Nor had she sent it even slightly in his direction. She knew her aim was bad but it was not quite that bad.

Still, even though she might have thrown it more off course than she'd previously estimated-estimation was not in Kirstenna's genes, Melchers liked to be exact so she might not have estimated her error nearly enough-the Quaffle had been going super super fast so nobody should have been able to catch it really, let alone someone who was as close to the goals as Tristan had been and still was. Kirstenna had figured it was more likely that nobody would catch it, and someone would have to go and get it and the game would continue from there.

Fortunately, she was still in pretty much the exact area she had been in when she had caught the previous shot and better yet, there was no bludger going towards her right now. Therefore, she was not feeling quite so anxious or scared and she was very well prepared to go after it this time given that it had been barely a couple of minutes since the last try. Probably anyway, Kirstenna was not that good at estimating time length either, she should probably start wearing a watch especially for things like Potions, as Quentin had told her that it was important to make sure they were timed correctly.

Anyway, as she had not had any time to be distracted by anything,it was that much easier to catch this one and Kirstenna snatched it up right before it went in.

And here she was again, in the same position as before, having to throw it again. Kirstenna could not let the same thing happen this time-though she honestly did not know how it possibly could have happened in the first place. The time she had to get it to one of the Teppenpaw Chasers.

She looked nervously back at Tristan, biting her lip. Something about the other first year seemed almost predatory. almost creepy, and made her feel a little anxious and sick. Kirstenna suddenly had an idea. She flew to the far end of the goal posts and threw hard again off to the side, as far away from Tristan as she could get, aiming at the closest yellow uniform, which she sincerely hoped was a Chaser.

OOC-Tristan, it's up to the Keeper to decide if it goes in or not. Also, I said Kirstenna threw the Quaffle too hard and that she either did that or threw not hard enough most of the time. She threw badly, yes, but not weak. That time she threw too hard.

I feel like I have to clear this up so there are no hard feelings. I never said he scored the goal I just said where he aimed. I feel I left that up for Kirstenna to decide if he made the shot and I never assumed he would make it. Sorry if it seemed like he did, I didn’t mean for it to read like that. It seemed more that you assumed he flew away from the goals and was farther away, which I never said he did, so I thought he could catch a last minute throw. And I didn't mean 'weak' as in 'not hard' but the more slang type of weak as in 'not good.' She even said she didn't think it was a good throw so I was going off of that. Sorry if I offended you, I didn’t mean or want to! I'll try to tone down his ego for the game if that makes you feel any better.

Oh, don't worry about it. I just misinterpreted things, so no hard feelings at all.

And the ego thing, that's just how Tristan is! So long as it's equally aimed at the other Tepps and not just Kirstenna, it's no problem. I have plenty of characters who probably behave in ways someone will find offensive. :)

I just wanted to make sure :) yes, he's a jerk but he's a jerk to a lot of people and definately not just Kirstenna. I don't agree with him on half the things he thinks/says/does, but maybe he'll grow up one day and stop being such a jerkish creepy Quidditch bot ;) lol I'm glad we got this cleared up!
