“Welcome back! I hope you all had good Christmases,” Henny smiled at the assembled members of the book club, “And that you all enjoyed reading our latest book,” her smile stayed in place but behind it she was a little anxious. 'The Seventh Wizard' had been voted for but not unanimously. Not that a non-unanimous vote usually indicated that things would descend into fisticuffs but she had her suspicions about some of the people who hadn't wanted to read this book, as it contained scenes of a Muggle nature. As far as she was concerned, they could suck it up and let their horizons be expanded a bit. Such a thing would probably do them the world of good. However, she wouldn't say as much out loud. Not unless they started something. Henny had strong opinions on a fair few subjects and she wasn't afraid to bring them out when necessary. But only when necessary. She didn't beat people over the head with them when they were minding their own business.
“As usual, we have a range of snacks and drinks, thanks to the Prairie Elves,” they had moved the meetings out of the library after the first few in order to be able to have refreshments, and Professor Skies had been happy to lend one of the Transfiguration classrooms. Even though none of the elves was present to hear her thanks, she felt it necessary to acknowledge their contribution to the meeting. And, hopefully, if any members of the book club ran into them about them place it meant they would be courteous to the little critters.
“We will be discussing the different elements of the book. You are welcome to stick with the area that interested you most or flit between groups,” she said, casting the same spell as she had used to draw her team over at the challenges. Words appeared at even intervals around the table; characters, plot/themes, other. She resisted the urge to remind them that the book club rules stated that everyone respected each other's opinion and right to speak, and gestured to everyone to begin.
She herself flitted over to the discussion on themes, although she would keep an ear on everyone else. She had plenty to say but she always tried to let someone else begin; she did not want to take over discussions just because she had founded the club.
