Anyone willing to partner up? by Jen

Jen stared at the canned frogs eyes, needed for the potions, afraid to touch them. The cauldren was starting to smoke and she knew if she didn't put in the proper ingredients immediatley the potion would be a waste. "Hey, is anyone willing to partner up?" she asked. Hoping someone would give her some help.\n\n

You put the frog eyes in to lure me over, didn't you? by Stephen Baxter

So this was potions.

Stephen admitted to having been curious. He'd seen movies with witches and potions and stuff, and now he got to give it a go too! And there were all sorts of cool ingredients that they got to use. Like the frogs eyes that apparently came in cans! Who'd have thought?

Maybe they had bits of newt in squishy plastic bags!

He could smell something too... like something was burning. It was coming from... over... there. Where that girl was sitting, looking distinctly worried about something. Stephen ambled over in time to hear her question.

"Sure, I'll be your partner," he answered, looking around for a seat and then dragging it over noisily. "So what are we making? It's on page twelve, right?"

OOC: Hey you guys know that the class threads should all start from the Professors post, right?\n\n

Hey, thanks by Jen

Jen looked over to her right and saw a wizard coming towards her, "So you're here to help me? Thanks." said Jen, appreciatively. She then opened the can of frogs eyes, which released a stench worse than rotting egg. She looked over at her new partner, who seemed be amused. Jen took a handful of the disgusting eyes and plopped them into the potion. "Ewww!" shouted Jen. "Maybe you should put in the next ingredient." she said to her eager partner. \n\n

not feeling so good by Stephen

OOC: Dude, keep to your story! I thought Jen didn't like the frog eyes, and yet here she is dipping her hand into the 'can'. Also, please don't write for my character. BIC:

"Riiiight," said Stephen slowly, as he watched this odd girl shovelling a handful of the frogs eyes into the potion. Then, giving himself a shake, he nodded at her suggestion that he put in the next ingredient and quickly turned to page twelve of his book to see what they were supposed to be doing.

Ah, they were making some kind of relaxing potion. Stephen paused for a second as he puzzled that out. It was a relaxing potion, and yet the first thing that went in was frog eyes? Somehow, he didn't think that many people - including himself when thought about it - would find drinking a potion containing frog eyes a particularly relaxing experience.

Frog eyes were cool, they just weren't what he considered food.

These didn't smell particularly good either - more like they were seriously past their used by date. Years past the use by date.

His enthusiasm waning as his stomach started to object (especially when he started to consider the possiblity that he might be asked to test his potion) much of the usual animation left Stephen's features. He took another glance at the ingredient list and almost managed to reverse his state to normal, entirely based on the name of the next ingredient.

Chuckling quietly to himself (furthur proof of his discomforture as Stephen usually went to great pains to be sure that everyone got to enjoy the joke) he searched for, found and measured out the Glumbumble treacle, before adding it to the potion.\n\n

RE: Not feeling so good- OCC by Jen

OCC: Stephen, I did stick to my story! "Jen took a handful of the disgusting eyes and plopped them into the potion. "Ewww!" shouted Jen" I never said that Jen didn't think they were disgusting. Since she was in class she had to eventually get the frogseyes.

And I didn't speak for you. You said that you liked frogs eyes already so I said that u liked them/were amused with them.

Maybe you should re-read people posts before correcting them

Chill dude. Trying to help you, not having a go at ya.

And you didn't. You said that Jen was 'afraid' of the frog eyes, but she - and i realise there was no mention of no disgust in the activity - showed no hesitation in sticking her hand in amongst them. She could have asked Stephen to do that bit. That's how these partnerships work.

Also, where out of curiousity, did you get the idea that finding something interesting equated finding it amusing?

Perhaps you should look less for offence and more for how you might improve.\n\n
