Professor Perrault

November 04, 2016 2:14 PM
“Good morning class,” Edward smiled at his youngest class, his bright blue eyes sweeping over their faces as he stood up from his desk and took his usual position perched on the front. After taking the register, he got straight on with the day’s lesson.

“Recently I asked you all to do some research on the Freezing Charm in preparation for today’s practical lesson so I’d like to know what you all found out. First things first, who can tell me the incantation that we use for the Freezing Charm?” Edward opened the question to the class, who by now knew that they were only permitted to speak if they put their hand up and should not interrupt each other. The Charms teacher was strict about this with his Beginners but far more relaxed the further up the years his students got, expecting his Advanced students in particular to engage much more in discussion with him and the rest of the class.

“That’s right, the incantation is Immobulus, well done,” Edward said when one of the students supplied the correct answer to his question. “It’s pronounced ih-MOH-byoo-lus. Say it with me everyone, ih-MOH-byoo-lus. Good.”

“Now, what is the effect of the Freezing Charm?” Edward picked on those with their hands up to answer his simple question. “Yes, well done, the spell immobilises living targets. Make sure you all have that in your notes.”

“OK, now I’d like you all to think of an example of how you could use this charm,” Edward continued with the lesson. “You might not have found any examples in your research but you should have gathered enough information that you might be able to come up with some uses.”

He allowed a number of students to share their ideas with the class before moving on to the main focus of the lesson, the practical.

“Alright, now this is the wand movement for the Freezing Charm,” the Canadian told his class, the wand pattern appearing on the board behind him with the incantation beneath it.

“I have some flobberworms here which I would like the first years to practise on,” he said, indicating to the small boxes on one side of his desk. “Second years, I expect you to be practising on the spiders,” he gestured to the boxes on the other side of him, “as they move much faster so are more challenging targets.”

“Before you get started, I’ll give you a quick demonstration,” Edward released one of the harmless spiders and placed it on one of the student’s desks at the front of the class. He pulled out his wand and spoke the incantation “Immobulus” clearly as he made the wand movement and directed the spell at the spider before it could scurry away too much. The spider instantly froze.

“Now it’s your turn,” he smiled at the class. “Remember that clarity is the key. You may talk amongst yourselves and help each other out but please make sure you are focused when performing the spell so we don’t have any disasters. If you’re helping someone else, please keep your creature in its box so we don’t have spiders running all over the classroom.”

“If anyone has any problems or you need help, let me know,” Edward told them finally. “Come and get your targets. Flobberworms this side, spiders this side.”

Farrah Welsh, Aladren

November 04, 2016 9:12 PM
Farrah was finding her second year at Sonora not as much fun as her previous year. This year, everyone already knew one another in her year and they knew who they wanted to work with, which was decidedly not Farrah. Finding partners in lessons was getting increasingly difficult, especially when Georgia and Kellen were already paired up with someone else. Sometimes it was alright when they had to pair up with first years since they didn’t know anything about her and thus, wouldn’t mind pairing with her. There had been a few days this year that after the final lesson had been completed that Farrah found the nearest abandoned hallway to catch her breath and let a few tears fall. She felt like she was back in gym class and being picked last. It was so dumb and she knew it, but she couldn’t help but feel like a loser. Everyone else seemed to have so many more friends than her or just made better impressions with people and somehow just eased into partnerships while Farrah floundered around until the last person didn’t have any choice but to partner with her.

That’s how it felt anyway.

Farrah entered charms class and made a beeline for the seat next to Kellen. Since the two of them had begun practicing their spells together, she felt most comfortable with him whenever she was attempting anything. He knew her struggles, so he wouldn’t get impatient with her the way someone else would or could. She probably would have been safe with Georgia too, but she promised herself that she would work with Georgia in Defense the next time they needed partners. If Georgia wanted to that was.

As the lesson began, Farrah raised her hand to answer both questions (she was an Aladren after all, so reading and taking personal notes was not outside of her normal routine), but Professor Perrault picked other students for the answers, so Farrah lowered her hand a little disappointed. Farrah wasn’t the most outgoing of people and she didn’t necessarily like speaking up in class, but when she was really confident in the answer she liked to show that to the Professor. She just didn’t really get a chance to do that. There were a lot of smart people in their class.

She remained quiet when he asked for examples, finding that anything she said probably would have been laughed at and instead, wrote down the spell and wand movement while he went over what they would be doing that day. Farrah’s hazel eyes shot up in horror when Professor Perrault advised that the second years would have to work with spiders. She stopped breathing. She died. She knew it. Her heart didn’t want to work anymore. Spiders were the most disgusting things in the world. They were terrifying with their beady million eyes and hairy eight legs. They had fat stomachs and crawled around all over the place. Some could even bite you and kill you! Farrah did not want to do this lesson. She did not want to be in this room.

Farrah slowly got up and got into line. She hesitated picking up the box because she could imagine the spider waiting inside it for its chance to escape and then take its revenge out on her in the process. With shaky hands, Farrah returned to her seat and placed the box onto the surface. She stared at it feeling sick. Her heart was racing, she felt sweaty, and she couldn’t stop shaking. She could hear others squealing or laughing but when she tried to look around, all she saw was the spiders. Spiders everywhere!

Her panic went into overdrive and she let out a whimper. She wanted to run away and cry. Why did it have to be spiders? Why couldn’t it have been a lady bug or some other buy? She was fine with bugs. But spiders? Her wand remained untouched on her desk beside the box as her focus kept to the box to make sure the spider wasn’t getting out. “I…can’t.” She whispered to Kellen. “I can’t with spiders.” She tried to explain, but her voice was trembling so much that she was sure she had only spoken a garbled mess.

Kellen Mormont, Aladren

November 08, 2016 6:09 PM
Today was one of those days where Kellen was feeling conservatively optimistic, or he had at least woken up on the right side of the bed. He rose early, ate a good breakfast of one egg, a croissant and some berries (inspired of course by the ultra weird convo he'd had with Madeleine previously), and got a good thirty minutes of tai chi in before class. He was feeling calm, centered, and ready to take on the day.

Things only seemed to improve when Farrah appeared beside him in charms class. He smiled and greeted her, but he couldn't help but notice that she seemed a little...off. She was quieter than usual, but Kellen brushed it off as being a result of being in class. He took notes as well, casting the occasional sideways glance at his friend to try and somehow read her mind, or see if be could puzzle together what was going on. He wrote down key points of the new spell they'd be learning, tried to draw out the wand movements, and he barely flinched when Professor Perrault mentioned his year would be using spiders. He waited for his turn to collect a box and noticed the look on Farrah's face when he returned to the table.

He didn't have to ask what was wrong, because as soon as he opened his mouth to do so, she told him. Kellen’s heart sank. He knew what she was going through, he'd had the same panicky feeling at science club. This had to be worse though, surrounded by the things you fear. It was like being on a raft in the middle of a dark lake.

“Ok. Ok…” He said, wracking his brain for a way to make this better. It was tricky with spiders. One second too late with a spell and they could get away. His chest was starting to feel heavy with anxiety as he tried to force his brain to come up with a solution. He looked around the room, and while there were plenty of people practicing the spells, they were surrounded largely by first years.

Kellen thrust a hand through his hair as a plan began to form. Without thinking too much about it, he set his charms book on top of Farrah's box to keep the spider from escaping. Taking his own, he walked casually over to a neighboring table of first years.

A blonde girl was sitting nearest him, and had retrieved her box, but hadn't opened it yet. She was busy chatting away and had her back to Kellen. He felt his ears redden, and his stomach turned a little as the adrenaline kicked in. As smoothly as he could, he switched out the boxes. He instantly felt bad. From the looks of her, the Teppenpaw girl, Ayla if memory served, wasn't likely to enjoy the 8 legged creature either. Farrah was his priority though.

He set the other containing the flobberworm down upon his return to their table and took her hand. “Just breathe. Focus on me, and breathe. We can try the spell later, or….” He lowered his voice, still feeling really slimey about the whole thing. “I brought a worm. You can try on it, and if you can't focus, we can try later on something else. No one will know if we just keep it in the box…” Kellen added, trying to look as inconspicuous as possible as he glanced around the room.

“And I'll be on spider patrol.”

Farrah

November 09, 2016 8:26 PM
Farrah felt her fear and anxiety over the spiders start to rise in the form of tears. She did not want to cry in front of the entire class because of some spiders. She knew that her fear of them was completely irrational; her father told her that all the time when she screamed at him to come kill whatever one was in her vicinity. But phobias were irrational and no matter how many times she tried to tell herself that the spider was more afraid of her than she was of it, she couldn’t stop the terror that seized her each and every time one of them was near.

She tried to take deep breaths to calm herself down, but she could see movements from all around the room and her fear led her to believe that the spiders were getting free and coming for her. She felt like she was completely out of control of her own body. She couldn’t breathe properly. She couldn’t stop the water from welling up in her eyes. She couldn’t stop herself from shaking. Farrah knew that if anyone was paying any attention to her that she would become the laughing stock of the school.

There was a book on top of her box now. She wasn’t sure where it came from but assumed that it was Kellen who had placed it there. She had been too focused on the spiders and trying to not make a scene that she hadn’t realized that Kellen had moved. She didn’t look to see what he was doing, but she could tell that he was no longer in his seat. She half wondered if he had gone to the professor to ask if they could change the spiders to something else (the Professor could do that, couldn’t he? Farrah could handle a cockroach or something), but she wasn’t sure if he would want to draw the attention to them and to be honest, she wasn’t sure she could handle the attention either, even if it was from the Professor.

He reappeared beside her with another box. Farrah looked up at him, her hazel eyes wide and wet from unshed tears and nodded as he told her to breathe and focus on him. Her eyes glanced towards the box that he had placed down; there was something odd about his comment but her mind was buzzing too much about the close proximity of the other spiders in the room and how one could easily get to her if her classmates weren’t paying any attention. Every movement she saw close to her, she jumped and felt legs on her arms even though she knew nothing was there.

“I…” Farrah started to say but jerked suddenly when she thought she felt something on her arm again. “I don’t remember the spell.” She admitted to him. Even if she had remembered it, she wasn’t sure if she had enough strength and concentration to make it work anyway, but she thought that she ought to pretend to try since Kellen had tried to alleviate her stress by finding her a worm instead. “Can you… can you move this one away?” She asked, pointing to the box with his book on it.

Kellen

November 12, 2016 2:51 AM
Oh no.

Farrah was on the verge of tears, Kellen could tell. He thought that bringing her a worm would help somehow, but apparently it wasn’t enough. She was still scared, and he was beginning to feel an overwhelming sense of anxiety. What was he supposed to do next? He couldn’t very well just squish all of their classmates assignments, but he also couldn’t let Farrah start crying. He knew she wouldn’t let him if the roles were reversed. Holding her hand hadn’t helped at all either, probably because he was garbage at it. He’d have to think of something else, and quick.

If only he was smart enough to cast some kind of bubble charm around them that’d repel the spiders, or was powerful enough to transfigure them all into something less creepy--but alas, he was not. He was a 12 year old wizard, who was starting to panic trying to comfort this friend.

“Oh, yeah, no problem.” He said, picking up the box and placing in on the ground as far away from Farrah as he could without raising suspicions, and stacking yet another book on top of it from his bag. “Do you, uh, maybe want to go to the back corner of the room? You’ll have walls to protect you on two sides, we’ll be well away from everyone else, and I’ll guard the front while you try the spell on the worm?” He said, trying to hide the desperation is his voice as he rubbed the back of his neck.

“That’s all I’ve got, Farrah...I’m sorry.” Kellen said in a low voice, as he looked down at his shoes, unable to look her in the eye incase she actually was crying at this point.

Ayla Tremaine, Teppenpaw

November 12, 2016 3:22 PM
It was charms day! Ayla had suspected since she arrived at Sonora that charms was going to be her favorite and best class, and thus far she was right. She seemed to take to a wand like a fish to water, and Professor Perrault was pretty easy on the eyes to boot. It was a bit of a relief to be doing well at something besides socializing. That didn’t mean that the young blonde had actually done any extra research on the freezing charm though. Ayla was glad when Professor Perrault opened the floor for answers to his questions, instead of calling on people directly. She definitely dodged a jinx on that one.

She paid close attention to the spell and wand movements and was excited to gather her worm and give it ago, until he mentioned that the second years would be working with spiders. She froze. Mouth agape. Why?! Why did it have to be spiders? Ayla bit down on her bottom lip to keep it from quivering. How was she going to be able to summon enough clarity to cast the spell when she knew there were spiders lurking all over the classroom. Where was her handsome prince when she needed him? It took her a moment to gather her courage, but eventually The Teppenpaw first year found herself at the front of the classroom to collect her target.

With baited breath, she peeked into her box, just to make sure it was a flobberworm, before making her way back to her desk. A strand of her long blonde hair tickled the back of her neck, and made her jump at the thought of spiders. Just knowing that they were in the room made her skin crawl. It was awful. She set her box down and sat down rather unceremoniously. Her confidence was wavering, she felt itchy all over, and she was still supposed to cast a spell. Ayla’s usually happy face turned into a frown as she considered the task at hand.

“I don’t like spiders.” She said to her table mate. “I’m glad we don’t have to work with them, but it’s still creepy that there are so many in the room.” Ayla admitted, suddenly realizing how cold her hands were. She crossed her arms across her chest. “Where did Professor Perrault even find so many?” She asked, though she’d rather not dwell on it too long. The image of the charms professor stalking the halls of the school for spiders made her shudder.

Ayla finally decided she’d stalled for long enough, and tried her best not to think about what would happen if one of the older students targets escaped. She pulled her wand out of her robes and turned her attention back to her box. When she lifted the lid, her heart stopped and sheer terror took over. She tried to scream, but nothing came out, she felt as though she couldn’t breathe. Instead, threw the lid back at the box and grabbed the person beside her.

“Kill it! Kill it! Kill it!” She managed frantically, clenching her eyes closed to avoid making seeing the arachnid. She was sure she’d picked the right box, she’d even checked! Surely someone must have switched her box when she wasn’t looking. Ayla wracked her brain, trying to determine what she’d done to deserve this. She’d thought she’d been nice to everyone, maybe she’d overlooked something. As she clung to her classmate, a lump began to rise in her throat. This was the cruelest prank ever.

Farrah

November 12, 2016 6:39 PM
Farrah heard a girl start crying out for someone to kill it and she jumped, startled by the sudden outcry. It was one of the first years’ who was supposed to have a worm. Thoughts connected in her head and she looked at Kellen putting the box of hers down on the floor and then back at the box that was now on the desk. Had he taken this box from that girl and given her the spider? If Farrah wasn’t so terrified at the happenings around her, she would probably reprimand him for doing it but also thanking him for being so thoughtful too. It was a weird situation to be in and she couldn’t very well be upset with him for doing something like that when it was on her behalf.

Confusion etched across her face when he apologized to her. Why was he sorry? He wasn’t the one who assigned such a terrible thing to them. He was helping her out. She was the one who was a mess. She couldn’t get over her stupid fear of these eight legged creatures to just get the assignment done and over with. Instead, she was wasting his time too. What a terrible person she was for making him feel at fault somehow.

Farrah replaced her hand back into his and gave it a squeeze. She tried to smile, but she was sure that all she managed was a weird twitch at the corners of her mouth. “Moving to the back would be great.” She said, her voice thick with fear but she put on a brave face because she didn’t want Kellen to feel like he had failed her in anyway. “I’m sorry; I don’t mean to take your time up. I appreciate the help you’re giving me, really.” She tried to reassure him. She knew that Kellen suffered from anxiety too and she probably put him in such an awkward situation because she was a blubbering fool.

She wiped her eyes and took a breath. She couldn’t be a baby about this. It wasn’t fair to Kellen or anyone else for that matter. She would just have to suck it up and deal with it. Farrah quickly picked up her bag and moved to the back corner of the room where a free table sat. She had to pass a couple of desks with some spiders on it, causing Farrah to shudder, but she managed to make it and took another breath. “Okay, the spell… what is it again?” She asked, trying to focus on the academics rather than the specimens. Her mind and body where still in panic mode, but she could at least pretend that she was okay. She hoped anyway.

Kit Reid, Aladren

November 13, 2016 1:29 AM
Having done her research, Kit’s hand went up when asked what the incantation for the Freezing Charm was. Unfortunately, she wasn’t called upon. She was, however, called upon to answer the next question. “The Freezing Charm renders the target unable to move, hence, freezing them in place.” She smiled when she received a ‘well done’ pleased that she had gotten the question right. She took notes for the rest of the lesson, including the uses that some of the other students had given for the charm. She drew lines along the side to represent the wand movements.

Once they were allowed to get to work, Kit went and got one of the boxes containing a flobberworm. When she saw Ayla checking her box, Kit did too, but not out of fear that she would have a spider. She just wanted to make sure that she actually had a flobberworm and not a spider since they were to be working on the one and not the other. Retaking her seat, Kit set the box on the desk and made sure her black and white plaid skirt was tucked neatly under her. She had paired the skirt with a white peasant top with a black sleeveless vest. On her hands, she wore black lace gloves to complete the outfit. Overall, she loved the effect. It was very chic.

Ayla leaned over and told her that she didn’t like spiders. “I don’t really either.” She didn’t find them particularly creepy either, but didn’t voice that opinion to her best friend. She didn’t think about spiders one way or another. They were just kind of there, but since out of sight, out of mind, most people forgot they were. “I wonder if he got them from around the school.” Oops. She looked over at Ayla with a slightly guilty expression. Sometimes, she said things before actually thinking.

Focusing on the task at hand, she was about to try and freeze her flobberworm when it suddenly felt like she was deaf in one ear and had Ayla clutching at her. Looking over, she didn’t understand why the Teppenpaw was freaking out, but maybe that’s why she was in Aladren. She tended to view things logically. The spider was still in the box so it wasn’t really harming anyone. Even if it was outside of the box, it wasn’t sinking fangs into anyone. “Ayla! Calm down. It’s harmless. Look, I’ll show you.” Kit pulled the box with the spider closer to her. “See? Harmless.” She was about to put the lid back on when she took a closer look. The spider was rather interesting, but she really should exchange it for a flobberworm. Instead, she took the lid off completely. “It’s a shame to have to give him back.”

Arianna Tate, Crotalus

November 19, 2016 4:43 PM
Arianna sat back, appraising her classmates, especially the first years. She was still planning to start her sorority and bring it up to her roommates after midterm. Unfortunately, from what she'd seen so far of the younger students, they were a disappointing lot. At surface there were a few that qualified, but one of them, Kit Reid, had automatically disqualified herself by playing Quidditch. She was from a good family too, so she didn't even have the excuse of messed up values that the other Arianna did.

Then Ayla Tremaine and Gwen Fintoc were Teppenpaws, a house the second year generally considered soft and useless.Of course, one would normally think Pecaris were worse given the tendency of girls there to be tomboys but Aunt Holly had been there. However, Arianna didn't see anything among the first and second year Pecari girls that said they posessed the same quality as her honorary aunt. About the only thing she could say that any of them had going for them was that Natalie Atwater was from a good family. Actually, Lily Spencer technically was too, but the girl was so totally the opposite of everything that Arianna was looking for. As far as the Crotalus was concerned, the other second year was a perfect example of what not to do, from the fact that she played Quidditch to the ugly, messy, haircut she'd been sporting. Natalie, at least, had a good hair style and didn't play sports.

As for the other Aladren firstie girls, Amelia Layne was in the same boat as Kit, and Arianna didn't know that she'd have really been interested in the girl anyway. Emerald Brockert was, well, a Brockert and that was one of the big names that helped her cause. Plus, she was the Headmaster's granddaughter-which made her a good person to get on her side- and Arianna had heard that she'd gotten into it with Lily Spencer at the Halloween party. This showed Emerald had some taste and wasn't a super soft and fluffy sort. Girl had some guts.

On the other hand, she didn't seem the social type either and Arianna could see a bit of the Headmaster in her. Still, maybe she could be ally even if she wasn't into the sorority idea.

Then there was Florence Newell whose family was currently mired in scandal because they were stupid and incompetent enough to get caught doing something wrong. Arianna could not be associated with that.

Professor Perrault began the lesson and Arianna forced herself to pay attention. Academics were very much not her driving force but she liked knowing spells and getting them right. She had, after all, been named Best Spellcaster last year, though it bothered her that that was the only award that she got. She deserved so much more. Still, it was an award to hang on to and Arianna figured it was true. Of all the things she observed about her classmates, for whatever reason, their spellcasting ability was not one of them, given that it was not a criteria for being a member of her exclusive club.

She didn't even flinch when it was announced that the second years would be working with spiders. Spiders were something that people often were afraid of and Arianna could not fathom why. She could see being afraid of an Acromantula because they were big and would eat you but why be afraid of something that you could easily squash?

While some people were freaking out, Arianna stared her spider down and quickly drew her wand. " Immobolus " She said as she did the wand motion, smiling as the spider nearly went completely immobile, only a three of it's little legs still moving.

That's when she felt someone's eyes on her, something she had mixed feelings on if it wasn't some important pureblood male who found her attractive. After all, Arianna wanted attention but she was supposed to be the one observing and appraising others, not the other way around. "May I help you?" She asked.

OOC-Apologies to everyone Arianna insulted. It's just her opinion, not mine and she's not a very nice person in general.

Ayla

November 28, 2016 7:46 PM
“No no no no no!” Ayla frantically tried to put as much space between her and spider as she could. Why was Kit insisting on making her look at it when she was very obviously terrified? The Teppenpaw couldn’t wrap her mind around it, particularly since the only thing she could think of was getting as far away from that yucky thing as possible. She didn’t see what was so fascinating about it. Her stomach turned when Kit took the lid off the box completely. Hadn’t she just said that she didn’t like them either?

“What are you doing?!” Ayla gasped, before taking a step backwards and tripping over her own feet. Thankfully, she recovered and didn’t fall on her butt. That would have been truly embarrassing. She thought about just taking the zero and leaving the class, shocked by both the spider and her friend’s reaction to it. Sure it wasn’t a massive one, but that didn’t make it less creepy as far as she was concerned.

“Take it, if you want, and I’ll take your worm...assuming no one switched it as well.” She said, struggling to regain some sense of composure. “I just...I can’t be at this table if you’re going to work with it. Call me silly or whatever, but I can’t. I just can’t.” The young blonde said, shaking her head.

Kellen

November 29, 2016 1:35 AM
Kellen winced slightly when Ayla apparently discovered that her worm had been stolen. He didn’t really like what he’d done, but he’d made the choice. He couldn’t take it back now, but maybe he’d be able to make it up to her somehow. For now, his attention was on Farrah.

He liked the way his hand felt in Farrah’s, but he was too nervous about it to say anything. He knew it was innocent, and that they were just friends, and he didn’t want to say or do anything to jeopardize that. He had other people he was friendly with at Sonora, but none of them really compared to his relationship--friendship--with Farrah. “Oh stop, you’re not taking my time, I am willingly giving it to you.” He said with a weak smile. “Friends help friends.” He shrugged as he gathered up his own things, minus the few texts holding down the lid on the spider box, and followed her to the vacant spot at the back of the room.

Once they’d both situated themselves, and the flobberworm, Kellen flipped open his charms text to the appropriate spell. He was glad he’d taken notes on the wand movement too, because as much as he wanted to be able to help Farrah, his brain was a little frazzled with all the commotion caused by the spider.

“Immobulus.” He answered, fumbling for his wand for a moment. “Here’s the uh...well...if you can decipher my chicken scratch, the wand movement goes like that. Or I could go first, and show you...are you doing any better?” The Aladren boy asked as he readied his wand, and looked to his friend with concern filled greyish blue eyes. He knew it was unlikely that she’d be miraculously over everything, but he hoped to at least be slightly helpful.

Farrah

November 30, 2016 7:35 PM
Farrah knew that at the start of the term when Kellen was dealing with his own concerns, she had told him to stop apologizing to her about it because they were friends and that’s what friends did for one another. And now here she was doing the exact same thing to him. She could smack herself really; just eat up all of her own words. He didn’t seem to be throwing it back in her face or anything. She supposed that made him the right sort of friend to be around.

Farrah knew her friends back home would have probably made fun of her (but also help her) and remind her that she was being a hypocrite (in the nicest of ways, of course). She was a bit relieved that Kellen was not doing that to her now.

“Immobulus.” Farrah repeated, taking out her pen and writing down the spell once again. She had taken notes, she could have just looked at what she had written, but her mind was completely blank and despite being in the back corner of the room, her eyes kept playing tricks on her. She could swear that there was a spider crawling on the wall just there beside her and another one crawling across the table. Farrah would only see them for the briefest of moments but when she would turn her whole head to face them, nothing was there. Farrah’s inner voice would tell her that it was her imagination, but her anxiety was telling her that they had moved out of sight and were slowly crawling towards her to cover her with their eight legs and hairy bodies.

“Um…” Farrah tried to have her mind play back what it was that Kellen was asking her and saying about the lesson. She really needed to focus. She sat up straight in her seat and turned to face her friend. “Fine.” She replied because that was how she always responded. “I mean, better. Can you show me what the movement is again?
