Eager much? by Professor Bulla

Bare seconds before the class was due to begin a tall figure swept into the room and headed straight for the back. Reaching the back wall, Professor Bulla turned and took a look at the students, pausing a couple of times as his gaze took in everything. With a faint smile at the number of students directing quizzical looks at him, Manfred walked back to the front at a much slower pace then leaned on his desk as he addressed the class.

"My name is Professor Bulla. You will address me as Professor Bulla. Now," he gave his head a partial shake to knock his dark brown hair out of his eyes, "you may have all noticed that this school is situated in the middle of a desert."

A long moment passed as his gaze once again passed over the entire class and he frowned at a couple of students who seemed to be taking this news as some kind of revelation.

"A desert," he repeated to reinforce the idea, "which has been made into a liveable environment thanks to the wonders of magic - specifically Charms and Transfiguration. Now today, you are going to be learning one of the basic Charms that is very important to this school: Aquor. This spell conjures water in small quantities."

Manfred reached a tanned hand into his dark green robe - only a couple of shades darker than the school uniform - to retrieve his wand.

"This is actually a very easy spell to cast in that it requires very little in the way of specific wand movement. You will all notice that there is a jar in fro-" there wasn't a jar in front of every student. Giving a quiet tsk of annoyance Manfred straightened up and pointed his wand at the supplies cupboard beside the window. With a quick flick the doors sprung open. Another more complicated movement and a series of glass jars started jostling to get out. "In order, thank you!" Manfred told them, and the jars settled into a line, floating across the classroom until one was in front of every student. A downward movement and they all settled on the desks at once bar one, which hit the floor with a loud clatter. Glad of the impervious charm he had cast on all the jars for protection against student mishandling, Manfred summoned the last jar to himself.

"A jar in front of you all. All you do is point your wand into the jar and say the incantation: Aquor," a stream of water spurted forth from his wand and filled the jar near to the brim. "Remember to pronounce it just as I did - emphasising the 'A'," Manfred instructed the class as he moved around to take his seat.

"You may begin."

OOC: Ok kiddies, here's your class. Usual rules apply: try to keep your posts realistic to your characters abilities. I'll award points when the class ends. And for future reference, this is not a real time RPG. The Headmistress has mentioned this on the OOC board, but after reading the lower thread, I'm not entirely sure that everyone understands what this means. I understand because I was a little confused when I first started RPGing too, so I'll try and explain for those who are still having trouble.

A class starts when it is posted by the Professor. It usually runs (and this is the one class in game time - roughly an hour) for about three weeks Real time. Similarly, several threads can be running simultaniously while dealing with events that are chronologically far apart. I'm not sure how good an explanation this is, so if anyone is still confused about anything I'm on AIM under the s/n ManfredBulla.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Jen gazed at the professors wand, amazed by the new charm she had just learned. Back in California she had only learned a few spells since she was constantley surrounded by muggles. Jen then looked hard at her empty jar. "Aquor" she repeated, and a stream of water flowed out of her wand. Jen became startled and spilled some water on her desk, but quickly wiped it off with the end of her sleeve. \n\n

Zack sat in the front left of the classroom. Front and center was for teacher pets. The back was for teacher banes. The middle was for those who wanted to blend. Front and left (or front and right) was for those who knew how to blend.

As such, he felt entirely within his rights as an invisible face to fake a shocked look when the teacher informed them that they were in the middle of a desert. The frown he received in return suggested he wasn't quite as invisible as he thought he was.

But when Mr. Bulla continued (what was it with these guys wanting everyone to call them 'professor' anyway? Was it some kind of private-school thing?) he realized that it really was kind of shocking that this place had waterfalls and gardens and stuff. The were in the middle of Arizona, after all.

His shock was further exacerbated by the deal with the flying glassware. His notes suffered. That was unusual for him. His notebooks had been fetched premiums on the study guide black market until he started taking them in Elvish and Klingon (there were two weeks when he took notes in Basic using the alphabet conversion that came in his Star Wars monopoly game, but then his brother Nick started selling the alphabet - and those letters took too long to write anyway).

Once he recognized his lapse, he did his best to cover for it, but it wasn't his best. Still, he did get most of the lesson's gist.

Taking out his wand, he held it in his hand like the self-defence instructor had shown him, and positioned it over the jar. Feeling vaguely like a magician on stage about to pull a rabbit out of a hat, he said, "Aquor!"

A single drop dripped into the jar.

That was enough to bolster his confidence that it was possible, and he did it again, with more surety this time, "Aquor!"

More water splashed out, filling the jar to a quarter-full. A third attempt brough it to three quarters. Feeling fairly certain that if that pattern continued, his next attempt would not fit inside the jar, he stopped there.

He, Zack Dill, just performed real magic.\n\n

Leann stared at the jar in front of her. She was amazed. It had simply flown over here!

She stared at the jar and took out her wand. Picking her confidence up off the floor, where it had been since she walked into this class, she stared at the jar and said "Aquor"

A little bit of water spilled into the jar. She tried again.

"Aquor" She said more firmly. This time, the jar filled up to about half.

"Aquor" She said once aagain, and the jar filled up to the top, but didn't stop. It was spilling everywhere. Leann jumped up, her robes wet. She was about to ask the teacher for help, when it stopped. Relieved, Leann looked around for something to clean it up with.\n\n

Mia took out her wand to do the new spell. No problem. She learned to be confident with her abilities so that's what she was going to do now. Mia looked down at the jar in front of her. She looked around and saw that some students were already able to do it. It was now Mia's turn to try.

"Aquor" Mia said as she pointed her wand to the jar. The water dripped like a leaky faucet. 'Oh man. Does that always happen on the first try?' Mia thought exasperatedly.

"Aquor!" Mia said very firmly. Water poured into the jar like a normal running faucet. This lasted for only a second.

"Aquor!" Mia said a bit more fiercly. This time the water shot into the jar like water from an out of control shower head. Mia bit her lip hoping she didn't have to add to the list of mishaps that couldv'e taken up a few pages already.

The water stopped when the jar was about three quarters full. Mia pushed the jar away from her. She decided she had better leave it there, lest something terrible happen like the jar exploding or something. Mia just had that kind of luck.\n\n

Jenna had been sitting quietly in the back of the room, listening closely to what the professor said. She didn't want to mess this up, like she did her first spell of DADA.

She took a deep breath and said, "Aquor!" but nothing happened. Okay, there was a drop of water in there, but that didn't count.

"Aquor!" she said again. Another drop of water. At this rate she was getting nowhere. She couldn't understand why it wasn't working, she was sure she had the wand movements right.

Then Jenna remembered her experience in Flying. When she had immitated her mother's snobbish, superior drawl, the broom had answered her. Maybe it also worked for charms.

"Aquor," she said smoothly. She almost scared herself, she sounded so much like her mother. Slowly, the cup of water began to fill, all the way to the top. Only two drops of water spilled out. The two drops that she had said while still sounding like herself. And somehow, filling the cup wasn't such a success anymore.\n\n

I'm ready by Tally

Tally was excited. Charms was her absolute favorite class. This was the course where you learned spells you'd use slmost everyday for the rest of your life. She smiled as she watched the Professor walk in.

Tally sat in the front row at the side of the room listening raptly to the professor as he gave directions of the incantation and wand movements. After he had finished, Tally looked eagerly at her empty glass jar sitting infront of her. Doing the wand movements she had seen her professer do.

"Aquor!" She said clearly. Nothing happened. Tally's smile vanished and was replaced with a frown. She looked around and noticed that most people had a least a drop or two, but she had absolutely nothing. Doing the wand movements again and saying the incantation with more determination she said,

"Aquor!" Again nothing. Tally's frowned deepened as she watched the students around her succeeded at this simple spell. What was she doing wrong? Why isn't it working? She asked herself. She took a deep breath and tried once more.

"Aquor!" But the same results followed as before. Tally let out a cry of frustration and tears of anger rose in her eyes. Allowing her anger to get the bestof her she screamed out the incantation,

"AQUOR!" TO her astonishment, the water flowed from her wand and into the jar. Forgetting that the water was sprouting still, Tally jumped around with triumph, only to have the water slash onto her, soaking a part of her robes. "EEK!" She said with embarrassment and quickly replaced the wand above the jar until it had released all of the water, blushing crimson.\n\n

Drying things off by Professor Bulla

Professor Bulla had only really sat at his desk for a short moment before he felt it timely to check on the students progress. Strolling along between the desks he offered tips for those struggling with their understanding of the spell and and short words of encouragement for those having some small success.

Really the class was doing very well considering this was their first Charms lesson.

There did however seem to be a few spills. Sighing, although it was only to be expected when one was working with water, Manfred approached one of the worst cases.

"Arefactum," he cast with a twist of his wand, effectively drying off the surrounding area. "Not bad. I'll just empty the jar for you," he cast the spell again, "and lets see if you can cast Aquor with a little more control this time, miss...?"\n\n

"You had best be careful," Professor Bulla said moving on to this new student. "If you rely on emotion too much in the casting process it can have nasty side-effects. Rather like with accidental magic."

He peered at the jar, noting that it was not far off three-quarters full and nodding appreciation. "You've done well, although I advise a little more emphasis on the 'A'."

Rather than just drying this one out as he had thoughtless done a previous student's, Manfred grasped the jar and crossed to the large window that overlooked the gardens. Opening it, he poured the water out over a vibrant bed of flowers, then took the jar back to the desk.

"Lets see you cast it again," he directed the girl.\n\n

Mia looked up at the teacher. She then looked back at her now empty jar. Mia sighed and readied her wand again. She relaxed so she wouldn't rely on her emotion to get this spell done. She had to do it herself and she could. Mia nodded to herself and pointed he wand to the jar.

"A-quor" Mia chanted, putting more emphasis on the 'A'. Her wand only let out a few drips of water before stopping. Mia scowled at the jar. She realized she was getting upset and quickly calmed herself. Mia took a few deep breathes and tried again.

"A-quor." Mia said again, keeping her emphasis on the 'A' like the teacher said. The spell seemed to be working properly. Water poured into her jar at a normal speed. At about the half way mark, the water began to slow down to a drip. Mia concentrated hard to keep the water flowing for a little bit more time. She was nearly there.

'Come one, come on' Mia willed her wand to keep at it. The wand seemed to answer for a little and the water began to flow normally again until the three quarter way mark. Then the water began to slow again.

Mia continued to will her wand to keep going but it wouldn't listen this time. The water stopped at a bit above the three quarter way. Mia sighed and looked up at the teacher.

"How was that, Professor?" Mia said with a small smile.\n\n

Bulla nodded as he watched the student endeavor to do as he had guided, impressed by her perseverance. He found himself nodding in approval as she passed the three-quarter mark without having to resort to fueling the spell with emotion.

"How was that, Professor?"

"Much better," he approved. "Just remember to not let your emotions fuel the spells and I think you'll go far, miss...?"

Manfred really wished he had managed to learn the names of all the students. He knew those who where in his house, but the other students were still just nameless to him. Still, every year was like this. He'd know them all soon enough.

The Bulla-plop has hit the fan... by Ash and Sorrel Craven

Ash and Sorrel Craven were sat roughly in the middle of the classroom. It wasn't that they thought they were blending in, and avoiding trouble there. It was just... neutral. A bit like their attitude towards the class. They were happy to do it, it would be useful, but there would be no tears spilt over failure. There may be sulking on the part of one if the other succeeded and they didn't, but that was entirely different.

Ash ill suppressed a snicker at the teacher's name and comment about being in a desert. Sorrel gave him a quizzical look, and he scribbled on a bit of parchment resting on his knee (which was not easily done subtly, and unpainfully with a quill, but which he had taken the time to master) and slipped the note to Sorrel.

'No plop, Professor Bulla-Plop,' it read, though using slightly choicer vocabulary. Sorrel bit her lip so as not to giggle, and rapidly ripped up the note into four, slipping one bit at a time into her mouth and swallowing it when she thought Bulla-Plop wasn't looking. That was the level of dedication they took things to in avoiding getting your twin into detention.

However, she ill timed the second to last piece of paper. It was just going into her mouth as Professor Bulla turned around.

"What do you have there Miss.....?" he asked. Sorrel, slightly panicked, went to stuff the last shred of evidence into her mouth. "Accio parchment," cast Professor Bulla, tugging the slip of parchment with his own name, though nothing more, out of her grasp. She exchanged a half nervous, half exhilarated look with Ash. Oh, they were in trouble now....

OOC - Ordinarily what I have done would go against the rules of the site, as it constitutes writing for another character, however I was IMing the authoress at the time, and had her permission. And sorry it's so short, for a class post! \n\n

Kerova, Mia Kerova by Mia

"Mia Kerova. I'm in Pecari House." Mia answered the teacher. Mia smiled to herself.

She got praised from her teacher. It wasn't unusual because she was an exceptionally good student at home but there was just something about being praised for doing magic that made her really proud. Probably because she was a muggle born witch so people may not expect much from her. Mia would prove them all wrong!

Then again, she might have just been smiling because the teacher planned on calling her Miss Kerova. She found this very funny. Mia was never adressed so formally unless it was written on a letter or she was being scolded by her mother. Even when being scolded, her mother didn't say miss. Her mom yelled out her full name. Mia Lillian Kerova. Mia mentally shuttered at the thought of her full name. It wasn't a bad name, it was just... too formal for her liking.\n\n

After directing a frown towards twins, Professor Bulla lowered his eyes to examine his catch. It was a torn piece of parchment, on which he could make out his name, the ends ragged from note having been torn into at least three pieces.

He directed his gaze back up at the girl, momentarily ignoring her brother even as he noted the look she directed the boy's way and read the obvious message that they had been in this together. And if years experience was anything to go by, this was undoubtedly the remnants of an uncomplimentary note.

Not that he could prove anything by the scrap.

"Sharing notes?" he asked, his voice deceptively mild even as his gaze sharpened. If there was one thing that got to Bulla, it was a lack of proper respect. He was from an old pureblood family (who else could have been so cruel as to name a child 'Manfred'), and had been raised to several ideals, respect being one. He always strove to instill this ideal in his students, to earn their respect and to allow them the chance to earn his in return.

But if that chance was wilfully dismissed...

"I don't believe I caught your names," he continued, now placing both under the full force of his regard.\n\n

Manfred continued his rounds, but was brought up short as he heard a student actually screaming out the incantation. Turning sharply, he realised it was the vaguely familiar student from his house, and she was looking rather wet. Brow furrowing into a frown, he hurried over to her desk.

"Miss... Adams?" he enquired in a slightly worried tone, after thinking for a moment in an effort to recall her name. "What was that all about?"\n\n

Teachers! by Sorrel and Ash Craven

Sorrel and Ash stared back stoicly. They were hardly going to start flapping over an offence they had practice in being told off for. Sorrel was inwardly annoyed at herself; hastily stuffing the last scrap of evidence in your mouth and thus destroying it worked fine with Muggle teachers - ok, they got pissed off with you for not handing it over, and usually you got in trouble anyway, but at least you'd won a small victory - but Muggle teachers couldn't summon things out of your hands.... Damnit. She'd have to get used to that. And find a way to get round it.

Another glance passed between the twins as he asked their names, though this time it was one of simple concurrance. He'd find out if they lied, and there was nothing really to be gained from it. So what if he yelled, kept them back or even gave them detention? It might be quite cool in fact... In trouble in their first week... Depending on how long he took over issuing punishment, they might even break their own record...

"Craven," they said in unison, giving the staring as good as they got. They didn't give their first names. When trying to psych teachers out, it was easier if you spoke in unison. Most people found it mildly creepy. Of course, being them, they had never been able to decide whose name should be put first, so they just went by surname for the purposes of this excerise. \n\n

Tally, olive skin already a tomato red, turned to look up at her professor. She was already embarrassed and wet, she wasn't sure if she could explain this without making a fool of herself some more. She looked back down at her jar before answering him,

"Er-well, I did the wand movements and the incantation just as you did, but nothing happened. I guess after the third or fourth time of trying I got upset." She paused and with the slightest shrug continued, "I ended up screaming and it worked. Of course I got over-excited about it working and ended up spilling some of it on myself." She looked up at her professor, but not quite meeting his eye. "Sorry."\n\n

To his credit, Professor Bulla didn't blink. He did however nod as though something suspected had been confirmed, and walk over to his desk where he pulled out a book and wrote a further something down.

Then he looked at the two again, one eyebrow slightly raised.

"This is a class you realise," he commented, a trace of impatience in his tone. "Are you going to practice the spell, or do you both want to fail your first class?"

No, there really wasn't much he could do about the note - he couldn't flout the rules and punish them on suspicion even suspicion as well-founded as this, it went against all he believed in - but he would be keeping an eye on these two in the future. Next time, they would recieve their just desserts.

The name 'Craven' was not one that he would forget.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Dillon sat in the middle of the classroom. He didn't know anyone in there, so he was hesitant to sit beside anyone. When the professor walked in, Dillon straightened up and realized that it was his Head of House. Okay, he seemed fairly nice when I met him, if not a little in a hurray. Dillon thought as he listened to the Professor explain their days lesson.

Dillon had yet to use his wand and he was a little worried that he might not know how. Looking around, he watched as the other studetns began to say the incantation and had little to no results. Well, at least I'm not the only hopeless one here. With a sigh, Dillon placed his wand above the jar that had flown in front of him from the cabinet, which had caused him to jump a little. Raising it slowly and trying to remember the simple wand movements, Dillon spoke in a whisper,

"Aquor" Only a few drops few from his wand, like leaky faucet. Dillon frowned and looked around once more. He noticed that many of the students were becoming frustrated with their spells and were having some-er-less than wanted results. Closing his eyes, Dillon took a deep breath before reopening them and trying the spell once more. This time he put more emphasis on the A and said it in a more booming voice than he had done before.

"Aquor" Water gushed from his wand and into the jar. He stood amazed for a moment until he realized that there was a lot of water that was filling the jar quickly. Dillon thought in a panic.

"Stop, enough!" How do you stop this thing? He thought angrily to himself. "FINITE!" He yelled and to his own astonishment, the water stopped. He wasn't suer if it was because of what he said or the spell had worn off, but either way, it had stopped just milliliters before over-flowing the jar.

With a sigh and a blush across his face, Dillon sat back and waited for his next instructions.\n\n

Zoey sat nervously beside her twin brother. She was excited about using her wand for the first time, but nervous just the same. What if it didn't work? What if they found out today that she wasn't really a witch and this was all a mistake? What if she couldn't do any of this at all or she completely messed up and made a fool of herself in front of all of them? Panic briefly filled Zoey's every thought, every bone in her body.

Zoey tried to keep her mind and focus on the Professor, but her worry overrode all her other senses. She squeaked slightly when the jars flew out of the cabinet, but she didn't think anyone noticed. She watched everyone else for a moment do the incantation and wand movements since she hadn't been watching the professor when he had shown them.

With a frown and her nerves on edge, Zoey leaned in front of her jar. She looked over at her brother and saw that he had at least some results on his first try, that's good then, right? It means that maybe they didn't make a mistake.

With a little more confidence behind her, Zoey took a deep breath, she held out her wand and said,

"Aquor" Surprised that it had worked, only her reflexes weren't fast enough. Instead of a nice flow of water that the professor and the other students were showing, the water squirted out in front of her and onto the floor and people in the row in front of her. She gasped and quickly dropped her wand into the jar.

She placed her head into her hands in embarrassment, afraid to look up and see any sort of chaos she might have caused. Well, at least you know they weren't joking when they told you you were a witch. She thought to herself with a small chuckle.\n\n

Stephen had been waiting a trifle impatiently for class to begin. This whole magic thing was definitely interesting, but it was more interesting when you got to actually do something rather than just waiting around for the professor to arrive. Even though class wasn't really due to begin for a little while yet. It didn't stop him staring out the window, then standing up, wandering over, opening it and sticking his head out for a better look. There was a light breeze passing the ruffled his hair, but little in the way in interesting activity to spy on.

The sound of someone entering the room at quite a pace had him looking back, noticing that it was definitely an adult and almost certainly the professor. Grinning in anticipation of what they would be learning to do today, he slipped back into his seat, but left the window open.

The professor spoke at length. Stephen scrunched up his face and whispered to the person next to him "what kind of a name is 'Bulla' anyhow?" to pass the time while he went on about the boring stick-in-the-mud stuff. He supposed that it was interesting enough that they had made the desert literally bloom, but hearing about it wasn't so great as seeing it. Which he had already done.

The jars were pretty cool though. And the way that Bulla spoke to them! Maybe he wasn't a complete loss to the varied art of fun. Maybe, Stephen considered, he just needed help remembering what fun was. And then he might lighten up a little.

And given enough time to drone on about the boring stuff, Stephen discovered that Bulla could even get to the point. Eventually. Perking up, he pulled his wand out and rolled his eyes as the Professor managed to even make the spell a little dull with his 'emphasise this' and 'emphasise that'.

But then the drone was over. Stephen, in the mood to celebrate decided to kill three birds with one stone. Completely disregarding the glass jar - which really wasn't particularly interesting now that it wasn't moving around - he stood and waiting for him moment (while the professor was distracted by the cool twins) pointed the wand up and over Bulla, calling out the incantation at the same moment.

"Aqua!"

getting the incantation right helps, or so I've heard by Professor Bulla

OOC: No, it's ok. The class will end soon though. I was planning on having it finished a little while ago, but RL stepped in and kept me busier than usual until now. BIC:

Was this entire class going to the dogs? Hearing someone behind him, Manfred swung around to see yet another of the disruptive students trying yet another silly stunt. And this time there was no ambiguity - the wand was pointed, the student was there, and he had quite clearly heard boy utter the wrong incantation.

He consulted his list - he had to be another Pecari. Pecari were the bane of Manfred's life at the moment, or so it seemed, and this boy certainly seemed the type. His name didn't instantly stand out however.

"Point that thing away from me if you please," he said in even tones. "Honestly, don't you listen -I was quite clear, and if you look around, you'll see that the other students all seem to have managed to at the very least get the incantation correct. It's 'Aquor', not 'aqua'. Now get your jar and lets see you try that again Mr-"

Manfred left the sentence hanging in anticipation of a name being supplied, and kept an eagle eye on the troublemaker as he waited for the boy to do as he was told.

We're in Arizona? Who knew? by Jake Santoro (Teppenpaw)

Jake sat in the back and watched the Professor as he walked in. He was his Head of House and he always seemed to be in a hurry. Jake didn't know much about him, other than a story from his older siblings here and there. All together though, he seemed to be a stickler for the rules.

When the glass flew from the cupboard, Jake didn't even blink. This was a natural occurence in his household. Growing up magic, very little surprised you.

What did surprise him was the incantation tehy wre to use. He knew they were first years and were suppose to be learning the simplists of spells, but Aquor? even that seemed too basic for first years.

Jake watched the other students around the classroom as they did their spells. It was rather hillarious watching those who you knew to have no magical background try their first spell. Some actually got it to work while others had no success what so ever. Jake even laughed when he watched the kid who wore the kneazle on his head try to use the incantation against the professor while saying the wrong thing.

Shaking his head, Jake stood in front of his jar and raised his wand above it. In a very bored voice, Jake said,

"Aquor!" Only a few drops fell from his wand. Slightly startled about this and embarrassed, Jake nervously said it again in a firmer voice,

"Aquor" water splurged from his wand and brought the level so that it neared the top. Slightly relieved and out of breath, Jake sat down in his seat. Next time I'll think better for things like this

"Stephen," Stephen supplied, with a scrunching of his nose. He didn't want to be called 'Mr Baxter', it just sounded silly. And anyhow, if anyone was going to be Mr Baxter, it was his dad.

He lowered his wand as requested and with with a great show of reluctance, headed back to his chair. As soon as he had his back to Bulla however, he started silently jabbering away in an exaggerated mockery of the professor. As he reached his seat, he turned, all set to stick his tongue out, then froze as he noted that he was still being watched. With a sheepish grin, he pulled the jar closer and poked his wand in until the tip was nearly touching the bottom.

"Aquor," he said, mimicking the professor in both emphasis and tone. The water splashed out with unexpected force, hit the bottom and rebounded, giving him a facefull and leaving him spluttering. His head shot back and the wand followed giving him a good soaking as well.

Eyes wide with surprise, he looked around the classroom. His situation had certainly not gone unnoticed. Grinning suddenly, he bowed repeatedly. "Thank you, thank you. Yes, I think I needed that shower. I feel much better now."\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Kaylie fiddled with a strand of hair. She wasn't much for listening in class. Never had been when she'd been back at her school in California. Kaylie and her siblings attended a public Muggle school even though they were purebloods.

But maybe now was the time to start. Kaylie had missed nearly everything Professor Bulla had said. She looked around the room and then down at the glass jar. What was it they were saying?

"Ak- core!" Kaylie exclaimed. A deep red liquid dripped out of her wand. It wasn't thick enough to be blood or tomato juice. It was more like....wine??\n\n

Excitement seemed to be everywhere Professor Bulla looked. If it wasn't spillages, it was rude and disrespectful students and now... his nose picked up a scent that shouldn't have been in his classroom. Alcohol. Specifically wine; red wine. And the bouquet... but no, this really wasn't the time.

It wasn't difficult to see where the problem lay. Even if he hadn't had the scent to follow, there was only one student who's jar was filled with a red liquid. He was disppointed to find that he recognised her as being a member of his own house.

"Miss Brockert," he said sternly, picking up the jar and vanishing its contents. "I expected better from a Teppenpaw - paying attention in my class is not an option, and that is quite obviously what you havbe not been doing. Now," he replaced the jar on the table, "perhaps you would like to try that again. The incantation is 'Aquor'. Do try and get that right this time."\n\n

Embarrassed... by Kaylie

Kaylie's face flushed. Whenever she was embarassed, her skin got all red and blotchy like when she had sunburn. And having wine shoot out of her wand and being yelled at by her own Head of House, definitely fell into the category of embarassing.

Kaylie really hadn't meant to make wine. She meant to do it correctly. It's just that she didn't always have the longest attention span. She'd rather be outside, not doing schoolwork. "Aquor!" Kaylie whispered, pointing her wand at the jar. Nothing happened and she muttered the spell again. This time water streamed out of the wand, though it was a little off color. It now had a blue tint and smelled kind of funny but at least it wasn't wine. Kaylie took the jar up and placed it on the professor's desk. She wondered if she should apologize for her mishap.\n\n
