Adrian had finally settled into what he deemed a very comfortable routine. His days were filled with nice, normal activities, and he was finally living like a normal human being in a furnished apartment and not in a tent somewhere in the wilderness. It was nice; he had to admit to himself. Now he understood what everyone in his family had told him. He was happy and settled and now there was just something else he wanted: a family. Before this teaching job his life had been so busy that he didn’t have time to date anyone seriously, and since he couldn’t offer a woman something other than discomforts he had not taken things too seriously. But now it was different. After spending so much time with children he was craving having some of his own. Two seemed like the perfect number to him.
The COMC professor was smiling at the thought of his future children as he entered the small clearing that he sometimes used for his classes. He found that fresh air helped him think more clearly, so he hoped his students felt the same way, because being cupped in a classroom tended to make him on edge from time to time. He theorized that is was probably because he had spent most of his life in the open space.
The COMC lesson he had prepared for his advanced class was going to be very fun. He had enlarged a bird’s cage to fit his entire class. The space in it was enormous and full of trees. It was a small forest inside an enclosed space to make sure the creature they were going to study today wouldn’t escape. Adrian had pulled a lot of strings to acquire some Golden Snidget for this lesson.
“Welcome,” he called to the students that were beginning to arrive. The entrance of the cage had been charmed to keep the snidgets inside. Adrian smiled at them, “Well, as you know today’s lesson is about snidgets. The boring assignments were homework, so today it will all about fun.” Professor Meade had made his students do the dirty work before today. They had to write an essay on the golden snidgets.
“Leave your essays on the chair besides the entrance. Now, there are about 20 golden snitches flying around, and as you know, they are very difficult to catch. So, today is all about competition. You will need to catch as many snidgets as you can in an hour. The winner will get extra points in the class and a basket full of treats. You need to use what you learned about it to make sure you catch them without hurting them,” he smiled at his students.
“Your time starts now!” Adrian clapped in excitement and let the students do their thing.
OCC: posting rules apply. Have fun. No harm can come because Adrian will be watching. Be creative! If you need info about the Golden Snitches you can look here

Arista had been upset about her loss of Quidditch for the most part. Sure, they had the chance of Exhibition Games, but not enough people had signed up for it. Ris had hoped there would be enough people to play, but it didn't seem like that was possible. As a 7th Year she wanted to be sure to be recruited for a real team, but it didn't seem as if that would be the case at all.
Can't always get what you want, right? she thought to herself as she left Teppenpaw to go to class. Her thoughts flew through her head as many things were going on in her mind about Graduating, her family, what she'd do with the rest of her life, and more.
Walking into Care of Magical Creatures class, Ris looked around, slightly shocked and curious for a moment at why in the world they were having class in a birdcage. There was even a mini forest full of trees in there! The Teppenpaw should have guessed that if their homework was about the Snidget that perhaps their teacher could have gotten some of them for the students to study, but she was more sidetracked by class in a birdcage.
Professor Meade welcomed them and explained what their class would be about and asked them to leave their essays on the chair, which she did. The Golden Snidget was a fascinating subject for the Teppenpaw. In fact, she hoped Professor Meade had managed to get them some to work with for class. There was something in the possibility of getting to see what was originally played with in Quidditch before the Snitches that made her sort of excited. She wasn't Teppenpaw's Seeker, so she wasn't all that good at it, but she would try her best!
"Catch as many as possible..." Ris said softly. "Hm..." Her eyes caught one of the little things and she followed it with her gaze. "It's not so hard..." she added, before looking around her to see who was next to her.
"Great lesson idea, don't you think?" she asked her neighbor as Professor Meade sent them on to their work. Arista's eyes followed the golden birds and smiled at them, reaching up into the air to try to catch one gently. She'd missed and shrugged. "Well, good thing I didn't play Seeker, huh?" she said, with a slight giggle.
