A Great View of the Bench! by Brett Hodges

Brett was way excited about the Quidditch Championship. He was so totally there and no way was he settling for no man's land this time. He wanted to be right in the middle of the Pecari cheering section. Echo was against it, but Brett took him by the front of his robe and dragged him into the crowd, ignoring his protests.

"Dude," he told him, "It's all in your head. Get over it."

He found them a nice spot at the edges of the main crowd. By his judgement, it was out of the thick enough that Echo shouldn't freak out too bad, and in it enough to make him happy. Oh, that and he had a great view of the Pecari bench from here. A great view of Irene Liddowe.

Brett grinned at Echo, tilting his head toward his favorite girl at Sonora. "Irene Liddowe," he informed Echo, "My Charms partner."

It was going to be a fine game.

Mind if I join you? by Hyana Kamiya

Hyana couldn't decide who to cheer for. She didn't know anyone in Crotalus. But Caedence was in Pecari and probably didn't want her encouragement. Ah well. Elly was in Pecari, so they automatically got her vote. So she made her way over to the Pecari cheering section, to see Brett and Echo. She hadn't spoken to Brett since she flipped Hikaru onto the ground.

"Hey guys!" She called, making her way over to them. Upon her arrival, she smiled at the boys. Since she knew them, she wasn't nervous. Anyway, she was at a Quidditch match. And not just any match. It was the Championship! How could she be nervous with all this excitement and adreniline pumping through her body.

"Can I sit with my fellow Pecari supporters?" She asked with a smile. "Well, unless Aladren's playing against the Pecaris. Then I can't really support them, can I?" She laughed.

Go right ahead! by Echo Elms (with Brett Hodges)

Twitchy was the word Caedence used on him in DADA the other day. Twitchy. It seemed like every time he turned around he was remembering that. Man, right now he was definitely fitting her description. He tried to relax, to not sit so stiffly and or whip his head around every time it sounded like someone might be coming close or every time he caught a movement in his periferral vision, outside his glasses. And thank you very much, Brett, I've got a lot of head for it to be all in.

"Think about the game," Brett suggested, still watching Irene Liddowe. Best reason for trying to settle down so far: so he could rip on his friend for crushing on the Quidditch bencher.

"Hey guys!" "Can I sit with my fellow Pecari supporters?"

Echo and Brett looked up to see Hyana Kamiya looking way more relaxed and interested in what was going on than they'd ever seen her.

One of my novellers, Echo relaxed a little himself, "Definitely." He waved her into the seat next to him. Better to have Hyana there than a stranger. Brett smirked, obviously thinking this proved the all in Echo's head theory. Not quite... well, actually, Echo wasn't really arguing the point; whether it was or not wasn't really relevent as far as he could tell.

"Hey, Hyana," Brett added, leaning forward with a wave, "Welcome to the Brown side."

The game begins! by Brett Hodges (with Echo Elms)

Brett was on his feet screaming the second Coach Fox blew the whistle. The game was starting! And... and, no, it couldn't be. It was!

Irene was waving at him.

Brett waved back like a maniac who just has to answer a question in class and shouting to Echo and Hyana, "Irene's waving at me!" Oh man.

"Minor crush," Echo explained to Hyana. He waved, too, but not with quite as much enthusiasm.

"Who said anything about minor?" Brett protested, sitting back down, "She's amazing. At least I admit it when I have a--"

"Elly!" Echo yelped over him, half out of his seat and pointing down the field with one hand and adjusting his glasses with the other. "Watchoutforthe--!"

A bludger sailed through the air on a crash course with Pecari's favorite seeker!

And what a heated start! by Hyana

Hyana sat down in the seat Echo motioned to, and laughed at Brett's comment. "The Brown Side...I like that." She giggled. Quidditch was like, the most awesome magical sport of all time. She missed the martial arts, volleyball and swimming stuff her muggle mind was so used to, but hey, Quidditch was close to volleyball.

At the very beginning of the game, Brett began to wave like a maniac. She followed his gaze curiously, to see that Irene Liddowe was waving at him. She couldn't help but laugh quietly. "Minor crush," Echo explained to her.

"I figured," She replied with a small laugh. It was quite cute, actually. Brett and Irene would be cute together. "Who said anything about minor? She's amazing." Brett replied. Hyana smiled. That was so sweet! But when Brett began to talk about how he could admit he had a crush, Echo began shouting. Quickly turning her focus back to the game, she noticed what he was screaming about. A bludger was heading straight for Elly!

"Elly!" She called as loud as she could. It surprised her even. She could be that loud? "Heads up!" Before she could see what happen, she heard the Crotalus side cheer. Looking towards the goals, she saw that Earl caught the Quaffle. At least, she thought that was his name. And then that Helena girl caught it! But wait! Lizzie intercepted a pass!

"C'mon Lizzie! You can do it!" She cried, trying to push her attention to two totally different parts of the game. Did Elly get hit? Did Lizzie throw the Quaffle? Hyana knew that being in the middle of a Quidditch game was difficult, but man, she never thought it would be so hard to watch one!

Excitement! by Echo Elms (with Brett Hodges)

The bludger was angling in towards Elly so fast, it held Echo's full attention. He stood there, shouting with Brett and Hyana, but unable to do anything. At the least possible moment, Elly swerved hard and took it on the leg.

"Ouch," Echo winced, staying on his feet. But Hyana's attention was already somewhere else.

"C'mon Lizzie! You can do it!" she shouted.

"Bludger!" Brett added. He was standing now too.

Echo followed their gazes just in time to see Saul dart in front of a bludger for Lizzie. He was going down, down, down.

"SAUL!" he shouted.

"Man," Brett commented in a voice far louder than normal to be heard over the crowd, "Did you see that? Saul's crazy!"

They watched their friend land hard. Echo bet he was going to feel that in morning, but as soon as Saul started running to meet Irene for a broom swap, Echo knew he'd be fine and glanced at Hyana to see what she was looking at.

Next to him, Brett cheered, "Yeah, you go Irene!" as though getting Saul a new broom was the most excellent contribution anyone could make to this game. Echo couldn't help but snicker.

Enthusiasm! by Hyana

Hyana turned her attention back to Elly just as she heard some sort of contact, along with Echo's, "Ouch." She let out a sigh of relief. Elly seemed to be okay.

"Keep it up Elly!" She called encouragingly. Like she could hear Hyana. As she kept her gaze on Elly, making sure that her friend was truly okay, she heard Brett say something about a bludger. Whipping her head back to Lizzie, she saw the bludger heading right towards her. That Crotalus beater really had something against the Pec chasers today!

Just as she was going to call out a warning to Lizzie, she was really into the game, when Saul flew right in front of the bludger. Was it on purpose? What the heck was the idiot thinking?! Didn't he learn anything from Caedence's attempts at the last game?!

And the bludger made contact. She clasped a hand over her mouth. The idiot! "Man, did you see that? Saul's crazy!" Brett commented. Hyana nodded numbly. She hated bludgers. She really hated bludgers. Hyana winced as Saul hit the ground. At least it wasn't like Hikaru's fall.

"Yeah, you go Irene!" Brett cheered at the Pec reserve handed Saul a new broom. Removing her hand from her mouth, she giggled along with Echo. "You and Irene would be cute together, if you don't mind my comment." She said with a grin. Then her focus was back on the game. Lizzie threw the Quaffle!

"C'mon, go!" She shouted. Turning back to Echo and Brett, she realized that she had somehow gotten out of her seat. Blushing, she sat back down. "Exciting game, right?" She asked with a laugh before she looked back out to the field, hoping that Lizzie made the goal. If not, there was going to be a mad Caedence. She didn't want to see that again.

A quiet moment. by Echo & Brett

The game slowed down enough that Hyana selfconsiously took her seat, followed closely by Echo and Brett. The chasers and snitch catchers continued to buzz around, but without the edge of seat peril of last two minutes. Brett, encouraged by Hyana's comment about him and Irene doing well together, glanced at the Pecari bencher again and, with almost and effort, moved his attention back to the game.

"Exciting game, right?" Hyana said. Man, that girl could cheer, and she knew it and now she wanted to play shy. Brett decided a teasing was in order, just as soon as he could think of something.

"Oh, yeah," Echo agreed with emphasis.

"Yeah," Brett nodded too.

Actually, come to think of it, Echo was usually pretty quiet himself and then he gets to a quidditch game and screams his head off. Brett flicked a glance at his stand-mates, wondering what else they had in common. Clearly, Echo's crush on Elly was never going to go anywhere. They were too buddy-buddy close and she was--well, let's admit it--too popular for him. Maybe it was time Brett encouraged his friend in another direction...

Which is very rare by Hyana

The two boys agreed on her comment. That was good. She had noticed that her thought about Brett and Irene made Brett...well, happy. Or at least that's what she thought. It would be nice to help Echo and Elly get together, but she doubted they wanted help. They were really good friends, like her and Josaih. Not that she had a crush on her friend.

Hearing cheers from their own side, she pulled herself out of her own thoughts to see the Quaffle fly through the goal!

"Yes!" Hyana shouted, clapping her hands together. Now Pecari was ahead, at least for a little while. She glanced over at Elly. There didn't seem to be any snitch sightings yet.

"It's good that Pecari got points and all...but I don't envy the chasers." Hyana stated, leaning back in her seat. "I mean...it's just going to make that one beater even more angry." Then the beater, Lily, hit a bludger right at Lizzie. Forcing herself not to randomly blurt out I told you so, she called a warning and looked at Brett and Echo. Brett glanced over at her.

"W-what?" She questioned. What was he thinking?
