The Princeton family formally invites you to the Princeton Christmas Ball. It will be held at the Princeton Estate in East Horsley, Surrey at 19:00. The invitation has been sent to all the respectable pure-blood families of high standing.
All those under eighteen in attendance must be accompanied by a respectable relative. No children under eleven are allowed. We look forward to making your acquaintance.

Re: A Formal Invitation by Alicia Bauer with The Princetons
Francesca's family can trace it's history back a long way and is very much of the 'Pure is best' attitude. However, they have some controversial views (mostly pertaining to girls and flying....), although how aware the Princetons would be of that, I don't know. Does she meet your criteria of respectable and of high-standing?
Unless the twins were, in whole or part, excluded, the Pierces will be attending with three adults and three children (Thad and his folks, the Anns and their mother).
They have a history of expressing their opinion, which some stupid people tend to regard as the same thing. However, they don't start violent debates at parties, so I shall assume they are invited, and they shall be pleased to attend.
Without knowing how good the Princeton information-gathering services are in America, Alicia is uncertain about whether or not her family's "wealthy through the stepfather, paternal grandfather is a poor-but-pure German immigrant who tried and failed to make his fortune in America" ruse would be accepted or if the actual "paternal grandfather is the Muggleborn son of a German immigrant who failed to make his fortune in America" story would have been figured out. And whether, even if the ruse were accepted, being wealthy through the stepfather would be considered 'respectable' or 'of high standing.'

As Cepheus is biased when it comes to Alicia, he would have convinced his grandfather to invite her regardless of her story. They would have only heard the "wealthy through stepfather" bit and not the Muggle-born part. With Cepheus's high regards for her, his father wouldn't have bothered to research too much into her family.
