1) Now, to create new accounts, you have to get a code from an existing user, and I know that because....
2) ...I tried to log into the Carey journal last night and received an error message saying it had been deleted and purged, and definitely not from inactivity or by me.
Looking at IJ's support board made it look like this is happening a lot to people who have more than one account under the same email address (for instance, the Carey account used the same "RP" email as the Bennett one), and it looks like the other Sonora accounts affected were, like the Carey one, first started in very early May 2008, in the first week WtS was on IJ, and by authors who later used the same emails they used for the affected accounts to set up other accounts.
Accounts started later than that by authors with multiple journals don't seem to have gotten involved yet (including some of Cousin's she says also use the same email as affected ones, which is part of what makes me think it might be a date thing), but looking through them, some were started in the same month, so anyone in that position might want to back everything up now, since there were no notice emails before it happened and the support board seems to have someone else posting about this problem to it every few hours now, so it could still be going on.
Apparently with this temporary code issues, quite a few bugs have hit. According to Squeaky (the IJ owner), you need to open a support ticket to have them correct the error. You should do this quickly as once a journal is deleted, that name become available for someone else to use.
I just tried to post up on WtS and it posted under my name, but not with WtS... Gemma explained a little bit better, so I tried to do it again under the right place, but it is now telling me that I have an invalid email? Can someone help me out with this??
You will have to search under the FAQ for that one. If you are able to log in and are a member of WtS (which you are), there wouldn't be an error popping up, so either you aren't doing it correctly, of there is an issue with your account.
