Chronicling Mr. Princeton by Effie Arbon

Good day,

I was wondering whether you could fill me in a little on your family history, so that I can write a realistic response. I believe the Princetons are British, are they not? Is it the case that they would not be widely known in America and are attending the school to raise their profile in the country? If so, would they have placed announcements about their arrival and attendance in any of the circulars read by the American Pureblood society ladies?

Kind regards,
Miss E. Arbon.

A Formal Response. by Cepheus Princeton

Miss Arbon,

I suppose they would have placed announcements. However, Cepheus and now his brother, Rupert, are the only ones in the country as of now. They are an old family in England and are well-known in Western and Northern Europe, France and India. The patriarch's grandchildren were sent to America in order to make their name more well-known. You'd be right in assuming that they are "new money", but only in the States, not in England. The wiki's family profile explains more about the Princetons' background.

Sincerely,
Mr. C. Princeton

I see by Effie Arbon

Thank you for the clarification. In the interests of researching whilst I had time to post, I did my best to look up the family. I didn't find them on the wiki (perhaps because I searched Princton, singular, not Princetons) but I read your original Cascade Hall post, in which you mentioned the family had only acquired its fortune in the past decades - I assumed you meant at all, rather than specifically in America. Effie cares about blood more than money (if forced to choose) so, if they can trace their history back a long way, she might have thought a little differently than how I wrote her - not that should affect your reply at all; after all, Cepheus cannot see inside her head. She would still probably have reacted in a similar way as she doesn't know how to talk to men/people - she was fairly impressed with herself that she managed to answer your question.

Post-Script by Effie Arbon

Searching both 'Princeton' and 'Princetons' on the wiki only brings up entries where Cepheus appears on a list (students, birthdays etc), no articles about the family or its history.
