I just wanted to get a tally of how many students are taking Care of Magical Creatures advanced lessons or independent studies (or if anyone is at all)?

But if it's a really small class and you would prefer her to take it as an independent study this year then that would be okay.

... but he's not quite sure how to work it. He's thinking of going into potions and a lot of animals provide potion ingredients that he want to be able to reproduce without harming the animal in question . . . but I'm not sure how that would translate into a study.

Against his own and, for that matter, Author's better judgment, Edmond's decided to take it for at least another year if it's offered as a class. If it's not, he has just enough of a sense of self-preservation to drop it instead of attempting an independent study.

I am honestly not sure how that would work either. It's definitely something for potions. The only thing that I would say is studying each characteristic and trait of the animal to try to work out the reproducing of the ingredient.

He may just have a mostly informal study initially and get back to you either at midterm or next year after he has had a chance to look into it more and figure out how he wants to format the study.
