To the Great and Mighty Yearbook Team
by Elly Eriksson
Hi, was just wondering... since there were so many transfers and some new first years have joined, could we have an updated active list for the yearbook surveys? Pretty Please?

Considering only two people requested to be added, there's no real point in updated it. Transfers or new students that aren't on the list, haven't requested to be added and, therefore, do not exist to me until they say otherwise.
Until I get enough people to acknowledge the fact that they do exist, the list will remain as it is.
Sorry, I know that sounds mean, but I feel that I've made the request clear enough and if they want to take part in it, they can make a simple reply to indicate they're alive.
It is a bit mean, coz that post asking for everyone to make themselves known was up before the applications for this year even closed, and before some Salem transfers started writing at Sonora. So unless people went back to read it they wouldn't have known.
But I had a spare minute, so I just checked out who wasn't listed. Aside from Hollisters etc mentioned below, and Dana & Rosalind that already mentioned themselves, there's Kastrin Moon (1st), Gabriella DiCarlo (5th), Cynthia Smythe (4th), James Anthony (1st), and Thomas Fitzgerald (3rd) who are all active.
If there's anyone else I missed who isn't on the Active List, speak now or forever not be in the yearbook ;)
Those who transferred from Salem are all Sonora authors and the post was on this front OOC page well after the apps closed. There were plenty of opportunities for everyone to have seen it.
I don't need you to tell me how or when to do the yearbook information. A new list would have went up come midterm as a reminder to everyone to send me out their pictures and to double check to ensure they are on the active list.
It frustrates me when people seem to feel the need to remind me of things for the yearbook when I'm constantly doing things for it that you guys aren't aware of. This will be my fifth yearbook to complete, I have a handle on things.\r\n\r\n
... Elly didn't mean you didn't have a handle on things. You do a fabulous job and nobody would ever suggest otherwise. It was as much a subtle reminder for actives to check out the list and make themselves known as it was anything else.
For those of us filling out the survey before midterm, we wouldn't want to leave anyone out now that we've got a fresh influx of people. Elly was just being conscientious and making sure they weren't inadvertently left out just because they're new and list got pushed out of sight and out of mind.\r\n\r\n
I was going to start my surveys and didn't want to miss anyone out. I don't think anyone's trying to tell you how to go about the yearbook - you always do a fantastic job.
I usually don’t get involved in the ‘correspondence’ part of the yearbook; however, I do have something to say regarding this thread. Obviously, there seem to be breakdown in communication and maybe everyone is just a little bit worked up. Everyone, take a deep breath and release. Calm? Hopefully, everyone is and if you were already calm, hey, you took a stress relieving breath for something else. It is the holidays, stress comes in spades.
That said, Elly, I understand that you were just trying to help and the thought is appreciated. Did you ever hear the saying ‘harmless not helpful?’ Sometimes, when we try to be helpful, it can come off the wrong way, make the situation worse, and/or can hurt feelings, which I think might have happened in this instance. I understand where you are coming from and that you want to make sure everyone is included. I have a transfer too. Gabrielle (not Gabriella) is mine, so I know it’s important and I can assure you that I do double-check (triple-check, quadruple-check, etc.) everything when I put all the pieces together. They would have been included as long as they either said something or I saw something posted from them, and I’m pretty active, so it’s likely I would have caught it. I think for Tally, she’s mostly asking to just have some faith in us to take care of it.
Though, I do understand that an active list is important, so that you guys know what’s going on too, which I think is what the original point was and what Saul was mentioning as well. An updated list does come out at midterm. Just keep in mind that we’re both a bit busy and it’s a crazy time of year, so we’re both doing our best. If for whatever reason, we can’t get a list up when you need it, just follow this rule of thumb: If you’ve seen the character active, include them. If we see that they were voted for, they’ll get in the yearbook, I promise.
Otherwise, I think it’s great that you want to do the surveys before midterm. Often, even with the reminders that Tally puts up, surveys get forgotten about. It is appreciated, because the earlier surveys come in, the earlier the yearbook can be put out. Thank you for the time you put in to the surveys.
