Poison... by Sorrel

... just came up on shuffle, and now every time I hear it I am going to think of Sonora. Which is kinda ace, as two of my favourite things to do have no collided in a big delicious smoosh. I will be out a rock club, it'll come on and I will just be inwardly geeking over it... :-D

Also slightly related news by Jae

I fell asleep during my AP Environmental Science class and only woke up because they were talking about the Sonora desert. The kid who sits next to me gave me the weirdest look when I was like "...SONORA!". The teacher was merely pleased with my unexpected enthusiasm.

Ah, me too! by Laurie

Except it was in my senior special topics course, which is purposely made impossible to fail by only assigning open discussion grades. As long as you talk at least once a week, you get a pass. Normally people bring up politics, religion, the Iraq war, etc- you know, heavy stuff.

Last week, while I was playing solitaire on my laptop, someone unexpectedly mentioned online role playing (the main topic was the growing lack of face to face socializing due to big bad technology, etc). I immediately found our site, and managed to turn the entire conversation onto the bonuses of engaging in such activities.

Sadly, this only cemented into the class's minds that I am still a kid, and they are all Adults. Boo.

But still.

Did you consider... by Stephen

..pointing out that there are old people who do this? Like my author. Or Zack's even older author? Or another author who, simply by being older than both Zack's and my author must really, really be old?

Besides, age is a state of mind. And if being an adult means being boring and not enjoying fun things like RPing then seriously - who would want to grow up?

Actually by Jae

I find it very interesting that adults seem the most interested in checking out roleplay sites when I point them out. Not that 'checking out' entails 'submitting characters' this year. >.>

weird.... by Stephen

....

Also, very useless of them. Have you mentioned that they'd get to play Quidditch? Except that they wouldn't for several months... hmmm... Perhaps if they knew they could take Potions and blow things up that'd interest them enough to submit a character. What do you think?

Stephen... by Marian

Can we not use the destruction of my classroom to entice new people to join the site? Surely there's somewhere else that would work.

...

Please?

I'm afraid. . . by Laurie

. . .that I do not have any sort of talent for debate. I did mention the existence of *old* people. I don't think it was actual age that caused their snub, just what they perceived the hobby to consist of, you know, mentally. I probably did more damage being a spokesperson.

Me<- 19

Most of them<- 23 and up.

Me<- better graduating class ranking.

Most of them<- annoyed.

I personally plan on staying a kid all my life. People so let you get away with more, er, things that way.

So, we shall see...

Watch the list... by Stephen

... it's been growing since the new term was announced. Five extra people so far, and another week of applications being accepted to go. Maybe there'll be more? That said, the balance is gone :-(

There were equal numbers of boys and girls for a bit then, but it's swung to the girls' advantage (or disadvantage, if you think about it).
