I've not written since Christmas since work life has been so very busy. Perhaps, perhaps, Tuesday-ish I may be able to start getting back into it. This might be a little over-optimistic because I will be collecting a whole new set of papers to grade on Wednesday (sigh)... but maybe Tuesday night, at least, I will be able to write something and when you come back, Brett will be somewhere officially asking Irene to the dance or starting a soccer game or Echo will be starting Nanowrimo... all before I disappear again under the crushing weight of papers to grade.

I'm not real fond of this grading papers bit. Honestly... it's more work to be a teacher than a student. It should be the other way around.

You know, if you gave fewer assignments, you'd have to grade fewer papers.

Think about it.

Enjoy the mini-break- every day's hard work deserves a little rest and relaxation. Mine takes the form of chocolate ice cream, marathon viewing of dvr-ed Law and Order: SVU episodes, and comfy jammies.

See you when you're back!

If I gave fewer assignments, the kids would have fewer grades and then there'd be no way to recover if they messed up on one. And as much as I'd like to think kids never mess up on anything or forget their homework...

I'm for getting rid of grades all together. I don't mind correcting and making suggestions for improvement, but assigning numbers is so tiresome.

I think like the college student I am. Midterm + final = grade.

Too bad. Stupid numbers.
