Headmaster Bulla

Now that you've taken your CATS its time to start thinking about what you're planning to do with your lives in the magical world, and what better way to start that than deciding what classes you're going to take next year!

Take into account the classes your character would have passed their exams for and the marks they'd have achieved (I did actually have marks that some of the professors nominated as the cut offs for their classes, but I seem to have missplaced them - if the professors would like to jump in here and comment please do!) and sign up for classes here.

The more we know are going to be taking each class the more impetus I'll have to hassle them about getting classes up for you all ;)

Stephen

I'm sure I meant to mention something of this in posts at WTS and ... er... I'll still see if I can get a CATS post up, but either way this saves me some time!

Stephen didn't do all that well with his exams. Pretty poorly all things considered. Bombed Astronomy, barely passed Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration, Ancient Runes and Potions, miraculously managed to do a bit better in Defence and somehow scraped an EE in Charms. Whether his circumstances will be taken into account might take me a little longer to decide, but either way, he's signing up for:

Ancient Runes, Charms, Care of Magical Creatures, Defence Against the Dark Arts and Potions. Oh, and Transfig too. That is unless any of the Professors think his scores are reason enough to deny him.

Zack Dill

September 05, 2007 3:55 PM
Unless professors have objections otherwise, Zack claims to be a genius, has the IQ tests to prove it, and he lives and breathes schoolwork, so I gave him the following CATS scores:
Astronomy: O
COMC: E
Charms: O
Transfiguration: O
Potions: O
DADA: E
Muggle Studies: O
Divination: E
Ancient Runes: O

He will be continuing with Astronomy, Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, and Runes.

Tally Adams and Chrissy Mathers

September 05, 2007 6:12 PM
I was planning on getting some CATS posts up, but that doesn't seem likely. Anyway, here's how their results would have been:

Tally

Because she's been studying her whole life to be a Healer, Tally's gotten the basics down fairly well. She received Os for DADA and Charms, Es for Potions and Transfig, A for COMC, and a P for Astronomy.

Chrissy

She isn't so ambitious... sadly. She received an E for Transfig, an E for Charms, As for COMC, Potions, and DADA, and a P for Astronomy.

Neither of them took Electives.\r\n\r\nTally will take DADA, Charms, Transfig, and Potions

Chrissy will take Transfig, Charms, COMC, and Potions.\r\n\r\n

Dillon and Zoey Welsh

September 05, 2007 7:32 PM
Both twins can be rather obsessive when it comes to studying, and Zoey had extra help with her study session with Zack that could explain their decent results.

Or they're just geeks.

Zoey's results are as follows:

DADA - E
Charms - O
COMC - E
Potions - E
Transfig - O
Astronomy - O

The classes Zoey will continue with are Transfig, Astonomy, Charms, Potions, and DADA.

Dillon's results are as follows:

DADA - E
Charms - E
COMC - O
Potions - O
Transfig - E
Astronomy - A
Muggle Studies - O

The classes that Dillon will be continuing with are COMC, Potions, Muggle Studies, Charms, and Transfig.

I never claimed to be smart...

DADA - A
Charms - E
COMC - P
Potions - A
Transfig - A
Astronomy - D
Muggle Studies - D

If possible, I'd like to continue with Charms, DADA, and Transfig. Possibly Potions...I'm still on the fence with that one.

Jennifer Zucchero

September 05, 2007 9:50 PM
Like a few of the other's mentioned, Jenny's a bit obsessive about schoolwork, which explains the high marks.

Astronomy-E
Potions-O
DADA-E
COMC-E
Transfig-O
Charms-E
Ancient Runes-O
Muggle Studies-A

Jennifer will be continuing with potions, DADA, charms, ancient runes, and transfig.

Professor Powell

September 06, 2007 9:07 AM
I will take all students who managed to achieve grades O or E in their CATS for further study.

Those wishing to continue with the subject who did not receive the requisite grades should contact me for a discussion to decide whether contiuning with the subject is the correct course of action.

(This can be done either IC or OOC, whichever you prefer)

I'll accept A or better. I'm not all that picky and I like the idea that, since they get to choose to come now, they come cos they like the class and want to learn about animals.

But, incase I need to use incentives, I have a fun 6th and 7th year planned for those who stick around.

No one seems interested (probably because the course just started and not because you think my class is fluff--right?), but you're all welcome to continue taking Divinations II.

... Kaylie and I are the only newly sixth years who even took your class to begin with. And if I took another class, it would probably be yours (I despise DADA and COMC, and Muggle Studies doesn't really teach me anything as I'm already mundane-born), but I'm already signed up for five and yours just isn't as . . . . scientific as the rest. But if you want me to, I will. The correlations between runes and divinations were just getting interesting . . .

Kaylie and Lily

September 07, 2007 12:54 AM
Kaylie-I will take your class. It's one of a few I did good in anyway on CATS. Lily took it also but she has four classes she wants and she's not doing anything like she did last term by taking everything which drove her nuts and left her very short-tempered, more so than usual.

Lily-I am taking DADA,Charms, Transfig and Potions. Those are the classes required for the Auror program at SUM that I will have to take when I get there and I need an advanced understanding of them. Also, being short-tempered, angry and vicious led to Crotalus winning the Championship because I injured people.

Oh yea, the scores

Lily:

DADA-O
Potions-O
Transfig-O
Charms-O
COMC-A
Astronomy-E
Muggle Studies-O
Ancient Runes-E
Divination-A

She studied harder on the ones which would be part of SUM's Auror program, while letting Divination and COMC slide a bit. Lily got the O in Muggle Studies because she was in a muggle environment until she was like 13.

Kaylie didn't do as well, personal problems affecting her and whatnot. Plus she just plain isn't as smart as Lily.

DADA-A
Potions-P
Transfig-E (She had her cousin, the transfig prodigy's notes to help study for that. She got an E rather than an O because she didn't understand all of them.)
Charms-O
COMC-E
Astronomy-P
Muggle Studies-A
Ancient Runes-P
Divination-E

She will be continuing with Charms,COMC and Divination.

Mia

September 07, 2007 4:56 PM
Mia isn’t a super brain like Zack, but she is a very bright and studious girl especially when it comes to something as major as CATS. And she’s gifted with a wand. With a cauldron? Not as much. Not to the point where potions explode, but they tend to be a bit off.

I figure Mia’s scores to be something along these lines:

Astronomy: E
Charms: O
Potions: A
Transfiguration: O
CoMC: E
DADA: O
Muggle Studies: O

She’ll be continuing with Charms, Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Care of Magical Creatures. Possibly Potions because not being sure what you want to make of yourself, it’s good to have your options open.

Professor Taylor

September 08, 2007 3:25 PM
I accept anybody who got an E or an O on their CATS. Below that, contact me IC or OOC and we'll talk about it.

Since everyone seems to be continuing with Charms, I'm thinking of offering two classes depending on what you actually want to do with your further education. Tally, you mentioned being a Healer and Lily and Auror? If anyone else has an idea of a future job....?

Jenna Howard

September 09, 2007 8:30 PM
Jenna’s always had a love of potions, and through that, she's learned an extra thing or two about Astronomy and CoMC. She’s always been put off by classes in which she mainly has to use a wand, and gave up on them early on. She figured it would be better to put the effort into classes she actually wanted to continue in, instead.

Astronomy – O
Care of Magical Creatures – E
Charms – D
DADA – D
Potions – O
Transfigurations – P
Ancient Runes – E

She wants to continue in Astronomy, Care of Magical Creatures, Potions, and Ancient Runes.
