Poor Irene, but doesn't she want to be an interesting character? A character with a perfect childhood would be quite boring. Poor Rilla has never been physically abused by her mother, well except that one time she backhanded her, but her mother can be pretty emotionally abusive. As far as she knows, she has no relatives to save her from it.The "muggles" she lived with were very nice, over protective but nice. However muggle school was a different story. Rilla is small for her age, wears glasses, and was thought "odd". Therefore, she didn't really get on well in muggle schools. Even the teachers didn't usually like her. Poor Rilla too. I am sure I was awful to her too.
Rilla gets in lots of trouble, and of course blames it on me for the past I gave her.
Rilla: It is your fault and you know it.
Umm, no, you're a cheeky brat to make me look back.
Rilla: am not!
Look hun, I'm not argueing with you in public.
