Well, I thought now was as good a time as any to make my introductions...I'm Chrissy Mathers, Crotalus Prefect and soon to be sixth year. If you have any questions, I suppose you can come to me. I'll help as best I can, or whatever.
Anyway, try not to worry about the other first years. If nothing else, you can come to me to back you up. I have no qualms about doing that. And, first years who listen are the best kind of first years.
