Apart from being the granddaughter of one, Mom's ties to the purebloods are nonexistent. The family wasn't a very high-up one, and they pretty much forgot about my great-gram after her brother died. Since he never talked about her, none of his kids knew about her, and they had other stuff to worry about by then, anyway.
Afraid I can't say much about Dad's parents, mostly because the author keeps changing her mind. There's either a Squib-child-of-non-pureblooded-parents great-grandmother or sheer odd luck, similar to that of the wizard who had seven Squib sons, involved.
