Smurflings, this way! (Aladren House)
by Professor Pye
The Orientation had gone smoothly, with little to no major issues and as he entered Cascade Hall with the first years, nodding to Tallec, Isis, and Amelle, he was loathe to find that somehow, against all odds, he had actually found friends at the type of institution he hated most of all. Nevertheless, he spoke amicably with his Amelle until it was time for him to gather up his new first year Aladrens and take them to their dorm. He and Amelle, like he and his other two friends, had a slightly flirtatious nature to their relationship. At this point it was quite evident that the flirtationships were his fault, his easy manner being the base and oftentimes the entirety of the flirting. He flirted with any and everyone in his age vicinity or older, wizard or witch.
As he stood, looking over the Aladren table, his eyes found all the students who had been coloured blue. They were in various shades of disappearance already—some would soon no longer be blue, others might go to sleep still tinged like a blueberry though all would show up to class in the morning their usual colour. He grinned, thinking of how the kind of looked like Smurfs. Did they know what Smurfs were? Likely not since a large majority of the Sonora population seemed to be pureblood, and Alfie (a pureblood himself) had only ever heard of the little blue creatures after a girl he was seeing had forced him into watching the ridiculous show in the theatres.
“Those of you who turned blue tonight, if you could just gather around me please,” he called over the heads of all the students who had started the migration to their beds. “Aladren prefects, if you could just join us as well, that would be great. Mr. Manger if you could also accompany us, thank you. Firsties, I’ll be taking you to the dorms now where you’ll be sleeping for the next seven years so you’ll do well to pay attention. Mr. Wolseithcrafte and Mr. Lucan if you could bring up the rear, Mr. Dill up front with me, thank you very much, and we’re walking…”
His usual long strides were shortened so that they small ones could keep up, and as he walked, he described the route they were taking. He had given them all a tour of the entire campus earlier but had left out where the house common rooms where since they weren’t technically supposed to know where each other lived however now he could give his new students a more detailed tour, showing them how to get to their common room which was located behind a shelf in the library.
OOC: It is not necessary to reply to this post, although you may if you wish to. This thread will be continued in the Aladren Common Room, where you now have permission to post. You may also continue your threads at the feast, due to something we call “fuzzy-time” —this is where you are posting in two or more threads at the same time but they are taking place at different times from your character’s perspective, therefore s/he is not in two places at once.
