Fifth and Sixth Years by Headmaster Brockert

Mortimer didn't really liked the end of the year much. There always seemed to be so much going on and thus, so much that could go wrong. So much that could reflect poorly on him . He was not one who liked to look foolish in any way.

At least the culprit in the whole vandalism thing had been caught and he no longer had to deal with that. A new subspecies of Satori was rather interesting to the Aladren alum, but mostly Mortimer was annoyed at the chaos it had caused. For both these reasons, he'd like nothing more to see the creature dissected, by which he meant in person.

He'd happily do it himself.

Today the fifth and sixth years had been summoned to Cascade Hall for Head Student voting, something that they should have figured out by now was the reason. Despite that, Mortimer felt the need to state the obvious. "You have been called here today to vote for Head Student. Please vote for whom you genuinely think would do a good job."

\r\n\r\nOOC-here Voting is in character and if you have more than one character, you vote per character. Votes can remain as anonymous as you would like them to be and you do not have to reply to this message even though you may if you'd like to. This is fuzzytimed to take place prior to the Concert. You have until October 22nd (the day before the new term starts) to get your votes in.

What an unpleasant parallel by Arnold Manger

When Arnold woke up this morning, he had been fully prepared to vote for himself. He was studious and admirable, and being that he had gotten involved so deeply with his and other clubs, he would be a lovely choice for Head Boy. There was no doubt in his mind at all that, if there was any sort of system to this whole affair, he would see his own name on the ballot. He was unsure who else it would be, but the other candidates hardly mattered anyway.

Blue eyes widened in realization upon discover of just who the others were. Emrys Lucan and Emery Kijewski-Jareau, his two roommates and best friends. He had been, somewhere in his mind, fully aware that this could possibly (and probably) happen, but he had buried the notion deep beneath his desire to win the position.

And unfortunately, the Head Girl section was no simpler. How was he supposed to pick when literally every name on the ballot was someone he considered himself friends with? Arnold was not particularly extroverted, nor had he ever been considered popular in any stretch of the word prior to his latest friendships, yet here he was, facing down his own name against two friends, and the other four against one another.

Now he was faced with his choices. Despite his surprise and guilt over his roommate’s also being options, realistically, there was just no way he wasn’t going to vote for himself. Arnold had worked too hard and wanted it too badly to just cede his vote. Not to mention that if he decided not to vote for himself out of some mental break, how would he choose between them? No, it was better if he just stuck with the plan and voted for himself.

He stared at the girls’ names, genuinely pondering the options, the positives and negatives of each as not only Head Girl but as his counterpart if he were to get Head Boy. All of them seemed like such good choices; they were all such bright, kind young women. But in the end, he could only pick one.

So he had to choose. Silencing the nagging sides of his consciousness who offered dissenting opinions, Arnold penned in his pick for Head Girl. Rising suddenly, he hurried the ballot up to the Headmaster before he had time to change his mind.
