No dilly-dallying, Pecaris by Professor Olivers

This year Florence had a new role to settle into along with her stand-in as Quidditch coach. She had never thought of teaching children before, but here she was going into her fifth year as a professor and taking on more responsibility as it were. To add more to the surprise, she actually enjoyed it. It was unfortunate that so many of the staff positions were changing, but Florence had decided to see it as an opportunity for the school to continue to adapt and change and grow stronger. She’d always liked looking positively. She had needed a positive mindset when she had started her career as an actress and now it was a way of life; no actor received every single part they auditioned for, and Florence was no exception. That had changed, however, in the twenty-three or so years she had spent on the stage before Terry had died. Any avid theatre-goers in America would know her tan, Italian features, her dark hair, and her voice, particularly those of the wizarding world.

But her acting days were now merely hobbies over the summers, and she was a professor full-time now. Once the feast was over and Florence had brushed the crumbs from the berry tart off of her deep navy robes dotted with white stars, Florence stood tall near the doors and called the Pecaris. Any of the new students who had turned tan she stopped and gathered into her little group.

The first-years would get to know her well in their Charms classes and if they joined the Quidditch team, but for now she was unknown and she reveled in the new feeling of anonymity for a split second before calling one last time for any straggling Pecaris. Once she had everyone, Florence nodded at them with a little smile and said, “Welcome, Pecaris. I am Professor Olivers, your Head of House, the Charms professor here at Sonora, as well as the current Quidditch coach. You’ll get to know me well over the next several years. Now come follow me.” She turned on her heel and walked out with confidence through the hallways and out the doors to their new home.
