Dylan was back at school, but this year he was feeling a tad bit more nervous than the previous one. For one, leaving Cassie had been more difficult than he had anticipated, and Dylan already missed her. Their relationship was getting serious and the medic was starting to think about the future which was pretty scary for the former bachelor. And on the other hand, Sonora had a couple of sickly children that required his constant attention and now there would be a huge addition to his crop of daily visitors. Dylan wasn’t scared of the child; he was scared of not being up to par to provide the best care for his problem. The Medic took his responsibilities very seriously, and he would do his best to give the kid the best care he was capable of giving.It was going to be an interesting year, to say the least.
The Cascade Hall hadn’t changed at all during his absence, and he smiled as he took his seat in the staff table. Dylan smiled and waved at his co-workers just in time for the Headmistress to start her speech. The Minnesota native listened and clapped at the new Teppenpaws, Prefects and Head Students. The Opening Feast was always a nice, happy occasion. However, he was sure a lot of students wanted to murder them for the lack of quidditch this year. He had never played, but he knew people could get really passionate about it. He thought it would be a good learning experience for most.
The Medic ate his dinner deep in thought about the upcoming challenges for the students and for him. Of course, he had prepared himself for what was rapidly becoming a new learning experience for the brown-haired young man. Dylan liked to be prepared.
He yawned as the hassle of the day caught up with him, but fortunately the other Head of Houses were getting ready to escort the new students to their commons. He got up with a smile and went to the Teppenpaw table
“Welcome!” he said cheerily, “I am Medic Dylan Bailey, your Head of House.” The smile on Dylan’s face was nothing but friendly. “Come on, it’s time for your school tour with me!”
