Free Good Luck Pumpkin Bars! by Waverly Canterbury

The pumpkin bars had turned out rather well, she had to admit. Though they weren't the kind that her mother would make, they were good enough. She had tried at least four and she hadn't died yet. She carefully set up a table next to the Midsummer Performance sign-up sheet and put the plates of pumpkin bars on it. They had pretty vanilla icing on top, generic but yummy. She was extremely proud of her club members. They'd come a long way from the beginning of the term. She couldn't wait to get new members next year. Maybe her younger sister would join if she got accepted to Sonora.

Waverly had also made a sign. Once Baking Club got a little bigger and there were more members, she could start giving out titles. She would definitely have some people be the decorating committee or whatever, but for now she did everything. Mostly everything. The sign read, in all caps:

FREE PUMPKIN BARS
COURTESY OF THE BAKING CLUB.
GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PERFORMANCE!

The letters were drawn in bright orange paint on a light blue background and she had even tried to draw a pumpkin bar on it, though it certainly didn't do the treat justice. She taped it onto the side of the table and then grabbed a chair and brought it over to her table. There. The shift sign ups were on the table facing her. She couldn't wait until the Midsummer Performance. She, Brielle, and Clara had an awesome idea. It would look so cool. Her own parents were planning on coming even if they were muggles. It didn't matter if they didn't understand everything. They'd be so surprised by all the magic. She couldn't wait to see their faces.

Thinking about the performance tomorrow set Waverly's heart thumping with excitement. It was perfect for her job now. She had planned on advertising, so she had dressed in pretty sky blue robes and tied her brown hair back. Her green eyes were vibrant. "Come get your free pumpkin bars!" she said to any students walking by. "Free pumpkin bars!" The bars even smelled delicious even if they hadn't been made that day.
