Gloves off, gloves on [tag: Jax] by Joella Curtis

Joella leant her back against one of the corners of the ring, her elbows resting on the ropes either side of her. Her hands were ready and gloved and she was dressed in her workout gear (from her sister’s new sportswear line of course). Her long blonde hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, hanging down over one shoulder.

She and Jax were in different classes now so she’d got there first, having sent a note to his room to meet her in the MARS sports room. The room had provided her with the usual boxing training equipment, as well as a boxing ring, in which she now stood.

“What do you say?” she gave him a sly smile when he entered the room. “Think you can take me on?”

She was teasing him. Joella did want him to join her for a boxing session, as her note had said, but right now she was clearly hoping he would take her invitation in a way that didn’t involve throwing punches at one another.

There really wasn’t much time left until the midterm break and Joella was excited to go home and see her family again. But she also knew she’d miss Jax and she therefore wanted a moment to remember so she that she wouldn’t be tempted to break their deal whilst she was away. The sixth year tried her very best to believe that Jax would hold up his end of their agreement and knew it was something that she shouldn’t stew over, but she couldn’t help it. She had to remind herself that Jax had been the one to bring up the matter of exclusivity in the first place.

Is this a standoff? by Jax Donovan

This first half of his fifth year had been a very strange year thus far. Jax had no idea what was going on with everyone but he had to say that girls were crazy and he really didn’t know why he hung around so many of them. He thought that something weird happened between them because he barely saw Sammy anymore and he thought that Laila was spending more time with her Reinhardt group of friends rather than them and Gia looked like she was constantly on the verge of tears. He thought that she was taking on too much that she was going to have a breakdown, but since he had been spending sporadic amounts of time with everyone else, he assumed the girls had gotten into a fight.

He didn’t even want to think about the meltdown that Gia had in the MARS room with everyone.

Jax was admittedly happy to receive an owl from Joella to come see her for a boxing session. Joella was one of those girls that he never really knew what to expect from her and he found himself enjoying that. Shelly had been similar in some ways (and vastly different in others) but it was the spontaneity of it that he found himself really enjoying. He had never really thought that Joella and he would click or start any sort of casual thing and he knew that it wasn’t something that would be lasting, but it was fun for the moment and that was the point of it.

He entered the MARS sports room and found that Joella was already in the ring waiting for him. He gave her a smirk as he climbed into the ring, wearing his workout tank and gym shorts. He went to go put on the punching gloves for her to practice her punches against, but her comment had him pause for the briefest of moments. He moved, his eyes lingering on her form as he closed in on her. He rested his hands on the ropes on either side of her and leaned down so that their faces were practically touching, “That’s a bold challenge to make.” He commented casually, “But I will take it.” He teased back, finally closing the distance as he moved in for a kiss.

If that's what you want to call it. by Joella

Jax was perfect.

She really couldn’t pretend otherwise. Whatever it was that they had together was working and Joella wasn’t going to let anyone ruin it for her. It didn’t matter what they said, or where it was (or wasn’t) heading. She wanted to enjoy it for what it was, to live in the moment, and somehow she and Jax had found themselves on the same wavelength.

His response to her suggestive question was just what she’d wanted. Her heart beat faster as he came closer. Even though she was used to being with Jax now, he still made her feel all those things. But it was different because instead of the blushing and worrying if he’d be able to tell that she was weak for him, there was excitement and energy and she enjoyed it immensely.

When he finally kissed her, she went in for it quite passionately, raising her arms to rest them around the Aladren’s neck so that her gloved hands hovered just behind his head.

After a moment she broke away and giggled, bringing her hands down so they rested in between their chests, or at least her chest since Jax was quite a bit taller. Having a pair of big boxing mitts at the end of her arms was a bit of a mood killer, stopping her hands from travelling around Jax’s toned body. “You can help me take these things off,” she tried to suppress a grin by biting her bottom lip, because she knew that what was actually going through her mind was naughty and not going to happen.
