Soft sounds of a piano could be heard emitting from an old unused classroom. When one approached the classroom, an even softer voice could be heard intermixing with the piano notes. A feminine, breathy sort of voice, only just audible above the piano. In the room, one may have been surprised to find two girls instead of just one.
One girl sat at the keyboard charmed to sound like a grand piano. Her long dark waves falling over her shoulders and down her back, light eyes focused completely on the keys, foot tapping out the beat. The other one was in the center of the barren room, moving with the music. Her own dark hair in waves twirling around her head as she moved, her dark eyes as focused as her sister’s but only they held the look of sorrow as she moved. She danced to a song that brought tears to many if they cared to listen and her dance represented the heartache. The tone of her sister’s voice only fueled the emotion. Her sister always did better on songs that were sad or angry than she did on upbeat ones.
I did my best, it wasn't much I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
Adelita danced passionately as Dulce’s musical abilities echoed through out the room. As different as the two of them were, when they were together their love for their talents shined. As the last word of the song left Dulce’s lips, Adelita pivoted into herself for her final step of the dance. Both girls remained still and silent for a few beats after the music ended, Dulce’s eyes stayed on the keys while Lita’s chest heaved from her efforts.
After the moment passed, Lita turned around to face her sister. “Well? Was it okay?” Dulce slowly turned away from the piano to look at her older sister. Her only response was a shrug. “I don’t know, Del, it looked alright to me.”
“Uuuuuuuuuugh, Dully, you’re supposed to be critiquing me! This is why I really miss having Charlie around, she’ll tell me what’s up.” Lita whined. Dulce rolled her eyes, quite used to her sister’s tantrums. “I’m not a dancer, Del, I was just hear because you asked me to play. Ask one of your friends about your dancing.”
“Who am I going to ask? Charlie is busy, Juri is into playing music, not dancing to it, Danny is… into himself and Euna loves her books.”
“For being popular, you sure are pathetic.” Dulce commented in her flat tone of voice that often rubbed people the wrong way. For Lita, it only made her smile. Turning to her portable radio, Lita switched through the stations until she found the Latin channel.
“Alright, Miss Sassy, you say you aren’t a dancer, but we’re blood and I know you can move.” Lita pulled Dulce out of the chair and started twirling around her, hips flaring with every turn in a familiar Salsa dance that was playing on the radio. The laugh that left Dulce told Lita that she was having a good time. Soon, Dulce was also dancing.
The two Garcia girls twirled and swiveled around the classroom and around one another, laughing as only two sisters could do, and completely oblivious to anything or anyone who may be in the room with them.
