Sitting here on purpose this time (Tag: Ellie McGill)
by Marian Parker
Magic school was better than Marian could have ever imagined. It was even better than the books had made it sound! Sure flying hadn’t been her strong suit, but Transfiguration was fun and Care of the Magical Creatures was… different. She’d never even spoken to so many people ever. But she found that not even the few people she had somewhat talked to were quite like Ellie. She’d opened up to her first and the most, having not even wanted to speak about herself much more to anyone else. It seemed that her first friend was, so far, her favorite one.
So when Marian had came down for breakfast one morning, her bookbag overstuffed with more books than she needed to have with her, she was happy to finally see her Teppenpaw friend. She hadn’t spotted her once in any of the classes they had together and now she was right there in front of her.
Marian looked between the Aladren table of her House and the Teppenpaw table before deciding to go over and sit by her friend. She put her bag on the ground and sat next to Ellie. “Umm… hi,” she said with a smile, suddenly shy and nervous. “Hope you d-don’t mind if I sit here again and… c-catch up? I didn’t see you in our classes…” She blushed, but was proud of herself for being uncharacteristically bold. If she wanted to make and keep good friends, she had to be brave sometime, right?

OOC: Sorry, I thought I had replied to this! I guess I must have forgotten to hit "Post Reply" as I've been known to do... :D
IC: Ellie smiled as she strode calmly into the Hall. She had been enjoying school so much since she had been there, and it was like something out of a fairy tale. Magic, everywhere! Normally her dad used magic for only little things, because sometimes the big things (like magically scrubbing the pans after a sticky cheese lasagna) had sort of freaked her Muggle mother out. Things were going as well as she could have hoped, except... well, she hadn't talked to Marian since the first day.
As though Marian could perform Legillimency on Ellie's mind, Ellie looked up from her eggs to see Marian walking straight over to the Teppenpaw table. Ellie smiled disbelievingly at her seemingly-shy friend. As Marian sat down next to her, Ellie couldn't help but giggle as Marian's courage seemed to run out a bit. “Umm… hi. Hope you d-don’t mind if I sit here again and… c-catch up? I didn’t see you in our classes…." Ellie grinned patiently at her friend.
"Of course not," Ellie replied, taking a sip of orange juice. "What are friends for?"

OOC: Don’t worry about it. I forgot all about it until just now anyways XD
BIC:
Marian bounced on her toes and wasted no time hopping into the nearest chair. She was worried she might come off too excited but she didn’t care about that. Now that she knew Ellie wasn’t going to treat her like a total stranger for not getting to work with her in class or anything, she felt a lot more comfortable ditching the nerves. As she learned on the first day, she didn’t really have to feel embarrassed around Ellie. She encouraged her without judging her, one of the few to do so. Marian really appreciated that she found that so fast.
She dropped her bookbag on the floor by her seat, wincing slightly as it made a loud thud. Carrying around a bag three times your body weight seemed to be the consequences of one too many trips to the library. She nudged it with her toe to make sure it didn’t dent the ground and only started to fill up her plate when she saw there was no damage done.
“So, um… have you been liking Sonora so far?” she asked curiously. Then she giggled lightly as she thought about her own time spent here. “I like it a lot. It’s a really nice school. And it has the best library I’ve ever see!” A good thing considering how much she was there.
“What about people? Have you had a chance to make any new friends?” Marian already knew Ellie probably made tons of new friends, considering she was pretty and outgoing and fun to be around, but that’s why she had to ask. Marian wasn’t upset being in the background, she liked it, but it didn’t mean she didn’t like hearing about what went on when people put themselves out there. She started to cut up her pancakes as she waited for Ellie to answer.
