Mmm, bananas! by Jaeven Dimitri

Jae wanted a banana. It was really that simple. He really, really wanted a banana. He didn't know why he wanted a banana, but he did.

The third year Pecari therefore went on a quest in search of the awesome, yellow, potassium-filled banana. He wasn't entirely sure what potassium was, except that it was supposed to be good for you and that you needed to eat it. He also knew from Chemistry in fifth grade that K meant potassium on that chart. Jae didn't remember anything else from Chemistry in fifth grade, which was maybe because they'd gotten mice halfway through the year to test some chemicals on and he'd decided it wasn't nice to test chemicals on mice and had opted out of the class for the rest of the year. Instead, he'd gotten to be a library helper and had helped the little first graders find their books and check them out.

The boy didn't like reading that much, but he did like books and he did like libraries. He also liked being helpful. Why didn't they have library helpers here at Sonora? Well, the magic probably did all the work for the nice librarian guy anyway. That was kind of a bummer, because Jae would have liked a chance to be helpful.

That was why the blonde-dreadlocked Pecari had volunteered to help out with the ponies at the fair. Well, that and he really liked animals in general and ponies/horses in particular. Even though his puffskein had died last year, and Jae had given all but one of Jenny's kittens away, he hadn't changed too much since his first year. For instance, Jae still didn't like robes very much and liked cargo pants a lot.

He also like bananas, which was why he was in Cascade Hall.

But Jae couldn't see any bananas. This was a problem. The obvious solution to the problem was to go up to someone and ask, so he did.

"Excuse me?" the third year focused serious green eyes on the person whose shoulder he had just tapped to get their attention. "Have you seen the bananas?"

I'm more partial to pineapple, myself by Oliver Abbott

The end of the year was rather nice, in Oliver's opinion. The teachers had obviously had enough and were looking forward to the long summer as much as the students. Well at least it seemed that way - they'd certainly pulled back on the homework front (or most of them had - Professor Taylor didn't look like she was going to give them a break any time soon). So with no oustanding assignments, and no sign of Talitha or Lutece for company in the commons, Oliver headed down early to the Hall. He'd been sort of hoping to find Hannah there, but Oliver couldn't see her anywhere, so instead just took a seat at an unoccupied table.

Oliver hadn't been sitting there long, and in fact hadn't even thought about eating, when someone tapped him on the shoulder. instinctively, Oliver turned to see who'd done the tapping, and was met with one of his less familair yearmates, Jae (his actual name was something longer, Oliver thought, but everyone seemed to just call him Jae).

"Um, bananas?" Oliver repeated, wondering if he'd misheard the other boy. He visually scanned the table, and, finding no yellow fruit in sight, turned back to Jae. "Are these specific bananas you've misplaced, or just general bananas?" he asked. now there was a sentance he neever thought he'd say.
