A Little Late, Sorry! ^^" by Krisalyn Koli

As Krisalyn shuffled along the polished floors of the Cascade hall, she turned her head all different angles, amazed at the beautiful decorations in the room. 'So, this is what wizardry is like,' she thought, smiling a bit. Krisalyn glanced around at her other first years, once more feeling too tall for her age. She brushed her long hair behind her back and adjusted her headband so it was perfectly straight on her head, and self-consciously looked at the older students surrounding the tables.

She was snapped back to reality, though, when she heard a gasp and saw a boy turn blue and head towards a long, oak table. Suddenly it was her turn, and she hadn't known what happened until she was standing on a platform in front of everyone. Gulping, she looked down into the goblet that was nestled into her hand. She stirred the mixture and realized that it looked a bit like soda. Tentatively she took the smallest sip possible, and waited for something to happen. When nothing did, and people stared, she took a larger gulp of the drink and opened her eyes to find herself a pleasant yellow shade. She looked up at the sound of clapping and followed the applause to one of the large tables. She sat down near the edge of the benches and wondered with amazement, one: When her skin would return to normal, and, Two: What her house and year would be like in this new, magic world.

Another late comer by Andrew Tudor

Andrew was sat on a long table with many students, all members of Teppenpaw like himself, when a rather tall first year came up to the platform. She had long hair and had just been adjusting her hair band. 'She looks as confused as I was' he thought, as he watched her drink some of the frothy liquid from the goblet. She lowered the goblet and looked up at the students. Nothing happened. Andrew felt himself catch his breath in his chest in shear agony for this girl. What if nothing happens? What if she isn't actually a witch and there has been a mistake? Andrew closes his eyes; only to open them again as she takes another gulp, larger than the first, and her skin turn a, rather pleasant, shade of yellow. Yellow, Teppenpaw. Andrew applauded with the rest of the Hall as they all watched her leave the platform. He took a deep breath and sighed. He always gets wound up for no reason. He looks up to notice that the girl had taken a seat right opposite him on the table. He gulped; suddenly embarrassed that he had been watching her. 'Oh no' he thought, looking down, 'please don't blush, please' he begged in his head, but to no avail, his cheeks were a bright shade of pink.

When is Teppenpaw going to be called? by Krisalyn Koli

Krisalyn looked down at the table shyly as she sat and a few people around her patted her on the back in congratulation. She glance up briefly only to see a boy that looked to be a first year also with his head in the same position hers was only moments ago. He seemed to be blushing, but Krisalyn didn't know why. She pondered that thought for a moment, before deciding that the boy was most likely just warm in the crowded hall. She herself was feeling a bit stuffy, too.

Krisalyn started to braid a side of her hair out of habit and watched the rest of the children get sorted. She wondered why she was put into Teppenpaw, and if her house was famous for anything. She twisted her mouth to the side as she waited for the sorting to be done, and pulled her fingers through her reddish-brown hair, undoing her braid. She decided to study the boy across from her once more. She gazed up at him, her pale green eyes glinting in the light.

Not sure, soon hopefully ^ ^ by Andrew Tudor

Andrew had his eyes fixed on the table in front of him, not daring to look up until his face had returned to his normal, pale complexion. Being pale was such a nuisance as it took so long for Andrew to no longer look embarrassed. He didn't even know why he was embarrassed, he's just always been anxious about meeting new people. It was true that he was known for getting along with girls better but that was most likely because he lived with his mother and smaller sister.

He sighed and, hoping that she wasn't looking at him, looked up to watch the sorting. His messy brown hair irritated his face and he attempted to shake it out of his brown eyes only to again catch sight of the girl sat opposite him. She was braiding her auburn hair at the side of her head, which he noted she was very good at. He let his eyes rest on her without much thought only to suddenly realised he was staring and looked back down with haste. "Idiot", he muttered under his breath.

Applause erupted around the hall as another student was sorted and Andrew looked up, straight into the girls pale green eyes. She must have been looking at him for a while and her eyes glinted as they caught the light. His heart jumped into his mouth and his stomach twisted. 'Don't just stare, you moron, say something' he urged himself, fully aware his mouth was half open in a rather gormless manner. Swallowing his nerves and fully expecting the girl to think him and idiot, he opened his mouth to say something and was suddenly very aware of his English accent.

"H- h- hello... the- there..."

Wow, you reply fast! Thanks! ^^ by Krisalyn Koli

Suddenly the boy across from Krisalyn looked up at her, and his mouth opened as if to say something. She cocked her head to the side as her classmate stuttered, with an english accent, "Hello there." Krisalyn smiled brightly. 'Yay, someone to talk to!' she thought. His brown eyes reflected the light, and she was reminded of her mother back home who was probably worried sick about her only daughter, even if she did have three other children to take care of. Krisalyn was suddenly stabbed with a pang of homesick guilt. She made a mental note to send a letter to her family as soon as she was out of the Cascade Hall, and then pushed those thoughts out of her mind. She had other things to do.

"Hi! My name's Krisalyn, what's yours?" she asked, happy to be relieved from her boredom. She noticed that he seemed to be annoyed with his hair, as she often was with hers. Having extremely long hair wasn't easy to keep up, after all, especially when it wasn't in her normal braids. She was happy that she adapted to new people and places mildly easily, if only to help her make friends. Krisalyn remembered his earlier expression and realized that he was probably shy, so she added, "I'm new to all of this magic stuff, how about you?"

Yes, the curse of having nothing to do = ] by Andrew Tudor

When the girl smiled at him, Andrew's fear of her thinking of him as a moron went away and he felt slightly relaxed as a wave of relief came over him. He was still relatively shocked that he had actually said hello as he didn't think he would be able to make friends at all, despite his mother's attempt at reassuring him. He paused to think of home, briefly, but was brought back to reality when the girl introduced herself.

"Hi! My name's Krisalyn, what's yours?" She sounded bubbly which made Andrew smile. He tried flicking his hair out of his face again, only to give up and use his hands. The girl, Krisalyn, seemed very comfortable being surrounded by new people and being in Sonora in general and Andrew almost felt envious. He took a deep breath in an attempt to stop him stuttering.

"M-my name is Andrew, pleased to meet you." 'Pleased to meet you?!' he thought. 'What a thing to say, now she really is going to think you’re a moron.’ he sighed is exasperation.

"I'm new to all of this magic stuff," Krisalyn added, "how about you?" Andrew was surprised she didn't laugh at his 'pleased to meet you comment' but was happy that she carried on talking to him. He smiled again, glad she was making conversation.

"I s-suppose I am new to this, but not-not as such. My father is a wizard, but we didn't know this until about a year ago and I don't r-really see him anyhow, so I-I guess we're in similar situations." He gave a lopsided smile. “Wh-where are you from th-then?” He asked, trying to seem confident in himself.

That's what I have!! by Krisalyn Koli

Krisalyn smiled when the boy did, and he visibly relaxed. He seemed to ready himself for something, then said in a shaky voice, "My name is Andrew, pleased to meet you." Andrew then seemed to be mad about something, but Krisalyn shook it off. People have emotions, she told herself, and her own often took a hold of her actions. Andrew's answer to her question surprised Krisalyn a bit. How could you not know that your father was a magical being?

'Well, apparently I've been magical my whole life, and I didn't know about it.' She realized that maybe that wasn't too impossible. She was brought back to reality when Andrew spoke again. 'Why am I always so distracted?' She reprimended herself in exasperation. She heard him say, "Where are you from, then?"

Krisalyn smiled. "Vermont! It's one of the states here in the U.S." Suddenly she wasn't so sure she should have said that. She didn't want Andrew to feel stupid, and what if he only had an English accent, but had been living here for a while?

Ahh, we have something in common then XD by Andrew Tudor

"Vermont!" Krisalyn replied, "It’s one of the states here in the U.S." Andrew nodded subtly, pretending he knew what she was talking about. Actually, he had no idea Vermont even existed so he was pleased she clarified that it was a state. He had only been in America since the start of term, so the geography was unknown to him. Anyway, he had never been very good at geography, even in England. It all seemed so confusing. By Krisalyn's facial expression Andrew assumed that she was pondering about his background, so quickly thought about how he could shorten his story so as not to bore her. He paused slightly, not liking to presume what people were thinking, but it was nice that he was talking to someone, really nice, as a matter of fact.

"W-well, if you hadn't already g-guessed, I am from England," he grinned at her, "Oxford, really, b-but that makes no-no real difference. It's a r-really pretty place though." He wondered if Krisalyn knew of Oxford at all but wasn't going to bore her with silly details. "I m-moved here w-with my little sister an-and mother b-but I haven't a-actually seen the house y-yet." He brushed his hair out of his face, trying to make it seem like he wasn’t fazed by this. It was true; he hadn't seen the house yet. Photographs, yes, but they weren't of a very good quality. He came out before Thorn and his mother as the term began before the furniture had been sorted, so he just came straight to Sonora. "D-do you have a-any siblings?" he asked Krisalyn.

Sooo, sorry for the delay!! <:( by Krisalyn Koli

Andrew, thankfully, didn't look offended by her explanation of her home-state, and Krisalyn sighed quietly in relief. She hated to make people feel degraded, and what could be a worse way to start a friendship that insult? She briefly pondered about his backround, when Andrew talked again.

"Well, if you haven't already guessed, I'm from England." He smiled again, and Krisalyn grinned back. "Oxford, really, but that makes no real difference. It's a really pretty place though." Krisalyn started. Oxford?

"That is so cool! There's a ton of musuems and parks there, isn't there? I've always wanted to visit there!" Geography had been Krisalyn's top subject at her muggle (another new magical term she learned) schools. She had done a report on well known towns in England as extra credit, and Oxford had really interested her. "So, why did you move here?" She asked, not wanting to take over the conversation, as she often did.

Krisalyn listened as he told her about his family and new house, but when he said that he hadn't even seen the house his relatives would be living in, she was concerned. It was most likely because she had so many other siblings, but Krisalyn would be worried out of her mind if she hadn't been to and looked thouroughly through the home.

She was startled when he spoke again. She made a firm resolution to pay more attention everywhere from then on.

Krisalyn was just about to answer when she heard a prefect call out for the Teppenpaw first years. Surprised, she looked around and was shocked to see that her fellow newbies and the older girl were the only ones left in the hall.

Krisalyn sat up from the bench, and grabbed Andrew's arm gently. "Come on! Let's see where our rooms are!" She was desperate to see more of the amazing castle.

It's okay .. = ] by Andrew Tudor

Krisalyn seemed to be really interesting in Oxford, which pleased Andrew. "I could sh-show you some p-pictures when we g-get into the c-common room? I r-remember packing some i-in my suitcase, I-I think...” Andrew couldn't actually wait to get to the Common Room and see his dormitory. He smiled to himself, knowing that Sonora would probably be more a home to him then his other one.

Suddenly an older girl called for the Teppenpaw first years, and Andrew guessed that she was one of the prefects. He jumped when Krisalyn gently grabbed his arm. She seemed very excited that she was about to go to the Teppenpaw Common Room. Andrew smiled at her enthusiasm, it made him feel better and more comfortable about everything. He had to admit he was slightly embarrassed that she was holding his arm, but never mind. He got up from the table to follow the prefect and other first years to his common room, happy that he had made a friend. He looked round to see if she was following and carried on making his way out the hall.

Omg, soo sorry, my computer broke! by Krisalyn Koli

Krisalyn was happy to have finally been called to be guided to their rooms, and as soon as she, or they, got to the prefect she smiled brightly up at her. "Hi!" As the older girl started walking briskly towards the doors, and all of the first years followed obediently, Krisalyn banged her toe on the edge of a benches leg. She gasped silently, and bent down to hold her injured toe. 'This is so typical of me! Always knocking things over and being downright clumsy!' Krisalyn thought, angry at herself. She bit her bottom lip and set her foot back down.

She was suddenly horrified to find that the rest of her peers had already filed out of the hall, and into the corridors. Not wanting to make a fool of herself, Krisalyn didn't yell, but only ran, albeit with a slight limp, to the giant doors at the end of the room. She got to the entrance and glanced in all directions to find her classmates. She saw a flash of clothing at the end of the hall and chased after it. Krisalyn was extremely relieved to find that she recognized a few of the children around her. She grinned and caught up with Andrew as if nothing had happened.

Krisalyn memorized the halls as best as she could (which wasn't very well, she hoped that Andrew would remember). She smiled brightly when she saw that they had to perform a small dance to get in their common room, and tried practicing the steps until she saw that no one else was, and a light blush dusted her face. When the entrance revealed itself Krisalyn's eyes widened. She rushed into the common room with the others, and gasped. The place was beautiful! Even though yellow was Krisalyn's least favorite color, the room seemed cheery and she didn't mind the color combination at all. She listened to Kaylie's speech politely, and, surprisingly, didn't ask any questions. Krisalyn the went around to inspect the room.

OOC- Let's carry this on in the common room, shall we?
