A trio of secrets by Anon

Playing with people could be so hit and miss. He hadn’t named any names and sometimes that worked for the better - the message in the library had stirred up all kinds of rumours and embarrassment, lots of people seemed to wonder whether it was about them or someone they knew - the girl and boy who’d been fighting in the library beforehand, that one who liked her common friend against her better judgement… It was funny, really, when it hadn’t even been about anyone here. But on the other hand, they could be frustratingly dense. He’d drawn a big human figure with a lot of animals in the Care of Magical Creatures classroom and they were wondering whether it was the groundskeeper. It was only fun when they started turning it on themselves or other likely suspects. When they missed the point entirely, it was just irritating.

The real targets though… what things they were hiding! It was all he could do not to just share it. But he’d smelt suspicion on some of them already, at least about one of the matters in hand. Better to leave a hint and watch them tear each other apart…..

Dipping into the dark red paint from the art room, he left the message sprawling across the corridor that contained all the MARS rooms.

When three girls share a room, how can the odd one out be the one who’s only ever been herself? There are some deep, dark secrets...’
