Sadi had enjoyed a wonderful summer with her family. Jera had introduced her new friend – a boy from one of the druid colonies, who lived a little further up the mountain. Sadi had been pleased to learn that her daughter had been interacting with other children. She’d never had many opportunities to do so in her life, owing in part to her parents’ lifestyles as researchers. It was a comfort to Sadi to know that her daughter was at least capable of making friends.
Although spending time with her family was always enjoyable, Sadi was nonetheless pleased to be returning to Sonora for the beginning of them new term. She loved teaching her subject, and she felt entirely comfortable with her fellow professors at the school. She still took the occasional weekend off from work to visit her family, but in some ways the sanctuary offered by not having to deal with family issues on a daily basis was a welcome relief. Here, Sadi's concerns were fixed primarily on her students and their well being. She watched in light amusement as the first year students were sorted into their houses, paying particular attention to those joining Crotalus.
After the feast had ended, Sadi looked towards Professor Kijewski as she rounded up the new Aladren students. Sensing that was an indication for Sadi to collect the newest members from her own house, she stood from the staff table and walked forwards, drawing her soft crimson robes more tightly around her.
“Crotalus first years, gather round, if you please.” Sadi’s call was calm but commanding. “Crotalus first year students, come this way.”
She waited patiently while the flock of eleven-year-olds huddled around her. When Sadi was sure all of them were present, she addressed the group. “Welcome to Sonora Academy,” she greeted them, smiling warmly. “I am Professor Powell, Head of Crotalus house. If you follow me, I’ll show you the way to your common room. Please keep up.”
Turning smartly, Sadi strode from the Hall, checking over her shoulder every so often to ensure her wards remained with her.
OOC: This post is to lead the first year Crotalus students to the commons. You do NOT have to finish up your threads in the Cascade Hall, although you are now free to post in the commons whenever you are ready to do so.
