Matt and Josh Santoro

June 16, 2007 9:34 PM
Matt and Josh had quietly crept into the Cascade Hall that Saturday afternoon when most people were out doing Merlin knew what else. Josh was certain the older students were tucked away in their dormrooms or in the Library studying away for their future exams, while the younger students were outside playing some game or another to occupy their time. This was just fine with the two of them. It meant that the hall was completely empty and the chances of them being walked in on were even less likely.

They kneeled down behind a table so that if someone did walk in, the two of them couldn't be spotted. At least, not right away. Unzippering a bag, Matt pulled out the first dungbomb. They had eight total. But these weren't just the normal dungbombs, oh no, these were special dungbombs. Not only did these run on specific timers, but their smells were more intense, they exploded out colorful gases that would last for hours, but they couldn't be put out by any spell (or so the owner had told the twins). The professors would have to let the bombs run their course before they were capable of disposing them.

For the next fifteen minutes, the twins placed each of the eight dungbombs in various locations around the Hall. They slowly timed each of them to go off at exactly the same time just as the heart of dinner was to be going on. Once each bomb was placed and the timer set, the twins stood back and walked around the hall to make sure none of the bombs were visible or noticable to anyone. Satisfied with their work, they left. Dinner would be starting soon and they wanted to make sure they walked in with the crowd.

The best part of all of this was that there was nothing to tie the twins to the prank. They had kept their noses clean for the two years, having never stepped out of line in classes, so the teachers wouldn't suspect them. Granted, they had made small talk with a few about their joys of pranking, but a lot of people did that.

So, as the throngs of dinner went underway and people were just starting to get into their conversations with their friends and neighbors, the suddenly blasts of various colors and smells filled the room. The twins thrived off of the chaos, but pretended to be horried and confused along with everyone else.

Oh yes, this was to be a joyous dinner indeed.

Irene Liddowe

June 19, 2007 7:45 PM
Irene entered Cascade Hall, ready to eat everything in the vicinity. It was a little after dinner had been served so the Hall was plenty full of students. Irene's motive this week was to be in a better mood. Okay, so Pecari had lost and was still in last for the points count, but what are you going to do? Move on. Anyway, it wasn't something she should worry about. She'd dealt with worse. Definitely dealt with worse...

Irene sat at the Pecari table and, no more than a few minutes after she had began eating her mashed potatoes...

RED, BLUE, GREEN. Everywhere.

These were followed almost immediately by a truely repulsive smell. Irene threw her hands over her mouth and nose and said loudly,

"Oh my God!"

But she wasn't heard. The noise around her was enough to cover it up. Irene looked around at the chaos in the Hall, taking in the many people screaming and flooding out of the Hall. She looked around at them and began to laugh. Oh man, this was hilarious! Sure, right now she was about to die of the stink flooding through her, but look at everyone panicing! They looked so funny!

By the time Irene reached the fresh, normal colored (and smelling) air, she was clutching her stomach and laughing so hard it was beginning to get hard to breathe. Taking a moment, Irene took a deep breath and reduced her laughing to a huge amused smile. Heading to where she could actually see, Irene accidentaly bumped into a person in front of her. She stumbled sideways and looked around.

"So sorry! Wasn't paying attention..." she said with an apologetic smile.

Camren Christianson

June 22, 2007 9:47 PM
Camren wasn't sure where Hyana was, but she was sure, as her stomach spoke to her, that she was hungry... Camren bit her lip when she didn't see anyone she knew at Cascade Hall, but she sat at her table anyway, all by herself.

No sooner than Camren had gotten all the food she wanted to eat on her plate there were plenty of other students that littered the Hall. Camren smiled and sighed. It didn't really matter if she was able to spot any of her friends anyway... Did it? It couldn't be bad... Then she would be able to eat quicker... Camren justified to herself. Shrugging, she picked up her spoon for her soup as colors flew about the room. Red, blue, and green evolved into a repulsive smell.

Camren watched as the students around the room covered their mouths and noses. The room was getting noisy with the panic, but still Camren could hear a small voice,

"Oh my God!"

Cascade Hall was in CHAOS! People were running about everywhere, and Camren couldn't move... Her hands covered her mouth and nose, but she still sat in the chair.

Someone knocked into her chair and knocked her out of it. She stood up off the floor and quickly covered her mouth and nose again as she followed the panicked others out of the Hall.

It seemed as if it had been forever since she had breathed in fresh air... So she took a deep breath after she had reached clear fresh air. Suddenly someone bumped into her. Camren almost completely fell over, but she caught herself as the corner of a wall stopped her fall. "Ouch!" Camren said softly as she put her hand on her forhead where a bump was forming already. Camren looked at the one who walked into her, and noticed that she stumbled sideways. Camren's fast reaction time allowed her to reach for her and catch her before she fell.

"So sorry! Wasn't paying attention..."

"It's alright... I... I'll be okay..." Camren stammered to the girl. 'Who is she?' Camren wondered. 'Should I introduce myself? But what if she doesn't like me?' Camren wasn't sure what to do...

Irene

Irene felt a hand grab onto her, stopping her from toppling over. She apologized and looked over to the person who had caught her, spotting a girl she didn't know. Irene brushed the brown hair out of her face and grinned at the girl who replied,

"It's alright... I... I'll be okay..."

"Man..." Irene said, gesturing to the surrounding floods of people. "Thanks for catching me," she said, holding out her hand to the girl, whom she noticed looked rather uneasy.

"My name's Irene Liddowe. What's your name?"

Dillon Welsh

June 23, 2007 12:16 AM
Dillon was rather set in his schedule. Since the very beginning of the year, he had made himself a routine so that he would have plenty of time to do everything. This was a pivotal year, after all. The schedule contained each of his classes that he was currently studying, the hours for eating, specific times for when he would be studying, and then what little time he had left for him to enjoy with whatever he so felt.

He didn't like the schedule. He felt confind into it and it was his own fault really. He could have gone off and did his own thing at any time he chose since he was the one to make the schedule. But, if he did that, he felt as though he was letting someone down. Who, he couldn't say for sure as no one aside from his roommate and his sister knew of the schedule, but that was how he felt.

Dillon sat at a random table for his scheduled dinner. He didn't have many friends at Sonora, so eating alone or at a table where he was ignored didn't bother him so much. He pulled as much food as he could onto his plate and began eating as fast as possible. He was sure this would give him heartburn, but he had to get back to studying. C.A.T.S. were coming up and Dillon had to be sure that he got some decent grades on them. He needed to keep his future open.

It was halfway through his meal when the smoke rose up around him and the foul stench of something he'd never smelt before overwhelmed his senses. "UGH!" Dillon coughed and quickly covered his nose and mouth. They didn't help all that much. Getting to his feet, eyes watering from both the smell and the smoke, Dillon slowly made his way with the crowd to the hall doors.

He gagged when he got out, but otherwise started to laugh. That whole scene was chaotic, but it also seemed to have lifted up any tention that was floating about after such a long and heavy school year. It was something that Dillon needed. Well...maybe not so rotten in smell, but the distraction in itself. He finally caught his breath from laughing, "Oh man, that was good." He stated to no one in particular.

Camren

June 26, 2007 3:39 AM
Camren grabbed the girl and her second thought was about if the girl would like her. 'I DID catch her after all... Right?' Camren thought to herself. 'But what if she doesn't like me...

The girl asked if she was okay, and said she was sorry and Camren replied, "It's alright... I... I'll be okay..." The girl spoke as she pointed to the people all around them.

"Man... Thanks for catching me,"

"It's nothing..." Camren said. She blushed, and the pink of her cheeks continued to grow to fill her face. Camren bit her lip as the girl held her hand out to Camren. Camren shifted her weight from one leg to the other and swallowed some saliva.

"My name's Irene Liddowe. What's your name?"

"Camren..." Cam said as she held out her hand to Irene. "Camren Kateri Christianson..." Camren could have hit herself for that... 'What made me say my middle name too?! She'll think I'm some stupid pureblood who only cared about her family lineage... Why would I CARE about my father...? WHY?' Camren thought. She was worried that Irene would hate her for it, but she didn't know what else she could do about it...

'Now I've done it...' Cam thought. 'How can I keep this place safe for Caden and Kasey if I mess up like this?'

Tears welled up in Camren's eyes, but she took a deep breath and kept them back. Biting her lip hard, Camren looked back to Irene. 'What would happen now?' Cam wondered silently to herself.

Niobe Yuma, Divinations Professor

June 26, 2007 10:45 AM
Professor Yuma looked up from her rice dish suddenly and stood up to scan the room. Something was wrong here. It had been for the last ten minutes or so--at least, that was when she'd noticed it--and whatever it was was spiking.

Nothing looked wrong. No fights were on the verge of breaking out--though you could never really be sure. No kids were choking on their dinners. No wild fandangos appeared to be loose in the Hall. There were no weird sounds and no commotion outside.

Maybe it was somewhere else.

One of her fellow staff members was giving her an odd look. Niobe held up her hand and tried to think. Most of the faculty didn't believe in Divinations, so there was little point in trying to enlist their help especially when she didn't know what needed helping. Besides, it wasn't like all her feelings of impendingness actually ended with something happening. Sometimes they were just nerves. Given a few more decades, she might even be able to tell the difference. Given a few centuries, maybe she'd be able to say, Oh, yeah, this is feeling I get when I'm about to knock my elbow into an expensive vase. The one where the students are going to stage a coup is slightly different.

"I'm going to take a walk," Niobe said. She was vaguely aware that she was acting a bit confused, and made a mental note to scold herself about prolonging divination professor stereotypes later on. She drifted around the Hall for a few minutes, went outside, came back in. Nothing seemed particularly amiss--

Until a pop-hiss sounded at her left and she didn't quite dodge a stream of turquoise gas. She stepped out of its way, coughing and spluttering. There were at least a dozen other streams all over the room and hall was quickly filling with it.

She was next to the door and went out with the first throng, instructing groups of students as they came through, "Move away from the door! Keep moving. Return to your common rooms!"\r\n\r\n

Irene

June 26, 2007 11:00 AM
"It's nothing..."

Irene smiled at the girl. She looked really nervous and Irene assumed she was shy. When she held her hand out to the girl, she bit lip and replied, "Camren... Camren Kateri Christianson..."

Her reaction to a simple statement was startling. Tears welled up in Camren's eyes for a moment, but they were gone a moment later. Irene instantly felt bad for her. She's probably had a rough time Irene could relate to that. The week the Council came to talk to her she had been an emotional wreck. Any mention of home and she wanted to hide out. At least thing were better now.

"Irene Selina Liddowe," she said with a smile, hoping to calm her down. "Here, let's go to the Library or something. It'll be less crowded there." Irene gestured down the hall and hoped Camren would follow. Irene wanted to talk to her and hopefully cheer her up. She hated it when people were sad. It didn't make her angry, but she felt bad for them. Sadness is never fun.

Camren

June 26, 2007 12:24 PM
Camren's simple statement of her name was enough to make her want to cry. 'What was going on here...' Cam thought. Camren took a deep breath and tried to rid her eyes of the tears that welled up inside. Even though Caden, Momma, and the twins were safe with her aunt and uncle, Camren still worried about them. After what her father had done...

Camren shook her head to try to rid it of the thought of him. Irene told Camren her full name too, with a smile and continued.

"Here, let's go to the Library or something. It'll be less crowded there."

Camren nodded to her. She sure wasn't going to go back to Cascade Hall right after that... Camren followed Irene to what Irene said was the library.
